"Hello there..." I said after he was backed up against the tree. Sharpening my dagger probably gave this, thing, the jitters. Everyone I ever knew did. "May I ask where you hail from? Or what being you may be?" I knew it was rude to ask so upfront, but my curiosity overwhelmed my commonsense, for the moment. I continued on making my dagger sharper.

Incredible. I've been all around these craters and not a single thing has survived. Not a knife, no swords laying around, armor is nowhere to be found, nothing!
This is what I was thinking as I made my way to the top of a large ashen pillar in the ground. Night had faded into dawn not long ago and i was able to search with more clarity but to no avail. All I managed to find was a beautiful sunrise. With all this destruction around me I might as well find what is left of beauty. This may seem strange from the words of one who has assassinated before but just because I kill doesn't mean that I'm an "all brawn fool". Regardless I knew that I needed to find others. The lack of finding materials had failed em and damaged my hope but I was determined. Height would provide me a better image of my surroundings and maybe i would be able to make a map if i found the right materials. As the top was coming into view I prepared my brain to capture the image and figure out what my next move would be.

Thankfully, the elf seemed more inquisitive than aggressive, although the sound of her knife sharpening offset me. I remember in my historical studies in primary school, that the elves had been around in Ka'Uhran longer than all the other races. So given the fact that she doesn't know what I am, it seems that she either never seen a blitz before, or she came from the past. But that last assumption just sounds downright silly, so I shrug it off of my mind. "I hail from Ka'Uhran. And haven't you ever seen a Blitz before? We are quite common. Well.. We were up until now." It could be heard in my voice that I am much calmer now that I know there is less of a threat, but there is still a sense of wariness around me. "My name is Qualien. Might I ask you yours?"
"My name is Vevila. I have heard about the Blitz but I have never seen one before." I looked down to study my dagger. There were fine grains of the metal still on it. I took a cloth out and wiped it off, studying it again I decided that it could no longer get any sharper. I decided that it was time for me to start to create some more arrows. "Do you have any iron by any chance?"

"N-no, sorry. I haven't actually done much since my arrival last night.. Night.. Night! Oh geez!" I started to think about the nighttime again. It was almost sunset, and I still haven't established a shelter. A sudden panicky tone entered my voice. "Do you happen to have a shelter anywhere near? It's going to get dark soon, and..." I didn't want to reminisce upon the poor souls who had been trapped in evil husks and forced to roam the land, so I left it at that. There was no time to make a shelter, especially with the lack of modern tools at hand. In worst case, we would have to find a shallow cave and stay there until morning. I started mumbling to myself about simple and quick techniques to cover up a hole in a wall, and things I would need. There wouldn't be enough time to make it great, but it would do if we have to resort to it.
Zeke stood still and listened for a reply for his call. All he was rewarded with was more murmured conversations. Zeke inched closer to the trees, fingers tight around the handle of his stone sword. The conversation had become much clearer, and he could make out the voice of Vevila, talking in the language she first greeted him with. He also heard a new voice, also talking in Vevila's language. "Is it another elf?" Zeke wondered to himself.
"Uh... excuse me. What's going on? It's getting dark, and it isn't safe here." Zeke stepped out through the trees. He felt guilty about barging into someone else's conversation, but it was necessary in these times. "Holy geez!" Zeke yelled as he fell onto the ground. Standing in front of him was a hairy person, apparently in conversation with Vevila. "What the hell is that!" Zeke pointed at the hairy man. "Why are you talking to a monster?"

Forgetting I was speaking in Elven, "Monster? This is no monster... This is a Blitz." I turned back to Qualien. "Anyways we do have a shelter, you are welcome to join us. We have a plan to get a civilization going again, so we need everyone we can get."

"Vevila? Speak English please!" Zeke said shakily, eyes darting back and forth from the hairy monster to the elven ranger. "This is... I don't... what going on!"
Zeke was confused. The monster seemed calm enough, and Vevila seemed to trust him. But on another hand, it was a monster. Zeke gripped his sword tightly. He was debating whether or not he should kill the monster now, or let it explain first.

I was lost in thought, going through my knowledge of architecture, going on and off about random subjects in English, going over basic plans in my head while waiting for an answer from Vevila. Suddenly, I heard a different voice from behind my new friend. He eventually looked around her, and it was clear that I was spotted. I easily got a clear look of the new person, a human. He seemed awfully offset by my presence, and apparently didn't know what I was either. Apparently, my race isn't as common as I thought. "That's quite insulting of you, human. I am not a monster, I am a Blitz. Haven't you ever at least heard of them?" I brush myself off in an act of pride.
((XP Qualien's not hairy, he just has certain appendages a human wouldn't have. And reformed ears, eyes and teeth.(Basically a neko. XP)))
I made a move to go back to the shelter. I managed to get back there without being noticed. Even though I am a ranger it isn't exactly that easy to avoid detection when people are that close to you. I grabbed my bow and decided to go and find some of the pigs I saw earlier, as I was getting hungry it seems to be the only thing to eat around here.

"You speak English? Wait... a what? A-a Blitz! My brother and I used to scared by stories of them! My parents would say that they would come in the dead of the night and eat us if we miss-behaved!" Zeke managed to stammer out. By this point Zeke was scared out of his wits, and was very close to hyperventilating. His eyes were wild, and his breath out of control. "I-It's gonna eat-" Zeke promptly passed out on the spot from lack of Oxygen.
((Pretty much, Blitz are the equivalent of werewolves to us humans. :tongue.gif: This should be fun because I'm guessing you're gonna live with us.))

"Uhh.." I rubbed the back of my head awkwardly as the man fell over in fright. I then noticed that Vevila had disappeared. "Oh, dammit." I walked over to the unconscious human and started dragging him in the direction I had seen him come from. I eventually ran into a couple of huts and a fire. I was unsure which hut belonged to him, so I set the man down next to the flames and lay down near him. I watched the embers dance along the wood while I waited for Vevila's return.
((@Stryk YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!! XD No worries, it happens.
@Cobra Well then this will be very fun. Very fun indeed.. >:3))
I walked outside the hut and saw that Qualien had the boy sitting by the fire. "What happened to him?" I went over to feel his forehead. "He seems fine. But why is he unconscious?"
(( I just realized we don't know each others name Cobra...
EDIT: Well at least I don't know yours :tongue.gif: ))

I look up and see Vevila walking out one of the huts, asking what happened to the human. " That's where you went. He just kind of passed out. I guess it would be normal, especially with the rough past between the Blitz and Humans. He was clearly frightened.." I look over at the makeshift homes and study their quality from where I sat. They didn't look to shoddy, but they could definitely be replaced with something better. I kept myself from mumbling again, and turned back to the girl. "Well, I guess I'm not gonna be sleeping with him. Hehe..."
"You can only wish, as we have just met. Speaking of which is Elven your first language?" The nerve of this guy... I thought to myself. Coming in here and thinking he can just sleep with me? Unbelievable... He does know I'm an Elf? And a ranger at that...

As soon as I had said that, I immediately regret the way I had worded it. That probably passed me off as some sort of pervert, and Vevila's words surely confirmed what I had thought. "Err.. No.. That's not what I meant. I just meant- Because he..." I looked away and started to blush. Things just got really awkward really fast. "Well.. Yeah, Elven is my native tongue. It is quite common among the Blitz, considering our past with the humans."
((Haha, this is very interesting. Too bad my character isn't awake to hear it. Anyways, I'm going to head to bed. Qualien, you have control over mai character. Just have him wake up sometime. You know how he's gonna react to you staying with us. G'night!))

"It is fine. From what I've read the Blitz are kind of... Strange when it comes to matters like these. Anyway I'm going to go look for some food, please keep a watchful eye over him." I set out with the quiver on my back and Riding Bow in hand. It took what must have felt like an hour. By now the sun was setting so I made my way back to the hut location.
Qualien Pfft, books. What do authors know..? After that uncomfortable event, I decide to take the human and drag him to his bed. Once I accomplish that task, I look around for some food, but to no avail. Off behind a tree though, I see some sort of a pinkish beast rummaging around. I instantly know what it is, and my hunting instinct bursts to life. I slowly begin to move towards it, stalking my prey with natural skill. A couple seconds later, I get close enough to pounce upon the poor creature. One.. Two.. Three! I leap off the ground towards my victim. I draw my claws and make contact. Immediately I begin ripping up flesh and organs, finishing the hog off quickly. "Haha! Bacon for dinner tonight!" I begin to drag the bloody corpse back to the camp, picking out organs and throwing them into the forest to decompose. Eventually, I was left with a meaty husk, from which I began to flay the tastier parts from and throw into the fire. Around thirty minutes later, I hear Vevila return from her hunting trip during my small feast upon the pig's roasted flesh. "Would you like some food? There's plenty for the moment..." I still felt a little inept for what I had said earlier, and wanted to make up for it as much as I could.
((XP I was never really good at taking over other players' characters.. Well, good night.))
((Holy Shizz I leave to sleep and it looks like you guys have conquered half the world! Damn I'm behind -.- , sorry if I'm being unsocial, im not used to this "forum layout" for these games, much more used to playing in person.))
I had finally reached the top of the pillar, and looked out at the expanse before me. It wasn't much but it gave me an idea of my surroundings. I was able to see the craters around me.
Enough of that I need to get somwhere.... Hmm what's that? SMOKE! Its smoke! A sure sign of people! YES!
And without further adieu I began to slide down the ashen pillar in the direction of the smoke.
