Welcome new, intermediate, and old RP-ers! Welcome to One Last Experiment! This RP is not pre-written. Your choices will warp how the story continues. You have the choice to bring up or destroy the world. Continue if you think you have the power.
Story:
The land of Ka'Uhran. A large kingdom, many towns and cities, thriving with people. Destroyed in an instant. All that's left are craters, smoldering, and broken. You wake in a crater, hurt and confused. You have survived the large magical attack that as killed your family, friends, and neighbors. But who was this done by? An immortal man named Brokcrest. His sole purpose in life is to experiment. It seems that all of this destruction was his doing. He killed everyone in an attempt to bring them back to life. Instead, he failed and brought them back as monsters. Zombies, skeletons, and spiders. Even the feared creeper. You and the other survivors have to do testing, under his command. You can go willingly, or fight back. It is your decision, for there may only be One Last Experiment.
Current Progress: The survivors have either chosen to join Brokcrest and obtain strange and powerful abilities, or joined the small settlement of the others. The settlement is relatively big, with huts, a large wooden wall around it, and a path leading to a farm. However, this may change when testing begins in four months.

Most dwarves grow up to be great warriors, there are special cases however.
Awas - Half-human, half-fish. They can live in water and above ground. They do not have any form of hair whatsoever. They have blue or green skin. They hate anybody that pollutes lakes, rivers, or oceans. They have gills on their necks, and webbed hands and feet. Most Awas are great with a bow, but there are exceptions.
Blitz - Half-human, half-animals. They are extremely agile, strong and have good night vision. They usually are covered with hair on their head, arms, legs, and back. Their chest and nether regions are usually hairless. They have sharp teeth and claws. They are usually aggressive, and make great warriors and rouges. However, there are special cases.
Orcs - Strong brutes. They usually have more brawn than brains. They enjoy living in the heat. Many Orcs are hairless, and are covered with scars and tattoos. All Orcs have green skin, and black hair if they have any. Orcs have sharp teeth, and are well known to be very aggressive. Almost all Orcs grow up to be amazing warriors.
Feils - Calm caring people. They were created by a mutation in a select group of people. They are extremely light, and have large wings on their back. They are proficient in magic.

Warforge - (Added by ravenhawk32) Metal humanoids. They were created under the Earth's surface with a mixture of arcane magic and Dwarven skills. They have the ability to think rationally, and are usually very smart and strong. However, being a machine, many people refuse to trust Warforges.

They usually possess black or pure white hair, often kept long and styled into warrior knots and braids. They keep the long, pointed ears of the elves, as well as their tall height. Their eyes are usually a pitch black color, with no iris, though shamans often have pure white eyes. The Blooded's hands are stained red, a ritual they must undertake as soon as they can walk.
Earthwraith - (Added by Flyingpig29) Essentually, Earthwraiths are entities formed from swarms of insects, millipedes, spiders and other minibeasts that dwell in leaf litter. They can transfer their spirits to other kinds of arthropods, however (Eg. Crabs and lobsters when underwater).

Because of their constant struggle with the relentless weather, their bodies have adapted slowly to be harder than others. However, unlike the dwarves, they use their fists to attack. They are known prestigiously to be extremely short-tempered and hard to get along with albiet very loyal. They prefer walking on all fours, using their hands as sticks with the fist faced downwards toward the ground, much like the way a gorrilla trots. "What-what in the world? What's going on?" Zeke groaned as he stood from the smoldering crater.
"Bro? W-wait..." Zeke pushed up his cracked glasses. "Where's the town? Oh... My... God..."
Zeke stared at the crater in disbelief. "This isn't possible!"
Zeke started stumbling out of the crater. Scrambling out of the side of the rocks Zeke looked around.
"Why can't I remember anything around here?" Getting out of the crater, Zeke saw a gigantic forest looming over him.
"Well, maybe I'll find someone in there? I need to find someone to help me!"
Zeke pulled out his pocket knife. He needed to be prepared for anything.

Vevila
"Arg!" I clutched my head I as I sat up.
My head was throbbing with a mighty pain.
I looked around. I was sitting in an enormous crater.
"Wha- What?! How can this be?!"
I had been training at the grounds, even though it has been unneeded as I am the top of my class. I was returning home when a mighty shock had exploded. I felt a great wave of heat then had passed out.
I looked around me. I saw my quiver lying far from me, arrows laying scattered about.
My riding bow had broken in half.
I grabbed it.
"Spirit of Earth. Please Repair this bow of mine."
The ground around my rumbled its reply.
A flash a grey light and my bow was back to normal.
"Praise be to you. Mighty spirit of the Earth!"
I got up a little to quickly. My vision turned black for a moment and I felt dizzy.
I stood still until the effects wore off.
Wondering where my Longbow went I went to collect my arrows.
As I was slinging the Quiver onto my back I spotted it.
"Ahhh!" I went over to it and grabbed it.
"Praise be the light! I may venture on to find what has happened to this place."
Zeke clutched his head in pain.
"I can't believe this is happening."
He began to climb the tallest tree near him. His arms were aching, and his breath was heavy by the time he reached the top of the tree. Upon reaching the top, he looked around.
"There has to someone, SOMEWHERE! Holy crap..."
There was craters everywhere.
"How could this have happened?"
There was even a giant crater cutting the forest apart. It was a good distance away though.
"Maybe I should head there? If anyone else is still alive, they would probably be heading towards the biggest landmark as well."
Zeke's head throbbed again.
"But... maybe I'll make camp first." Zeke decided as he climbed down the tree, collecting branches for a fire.
I climbed to the top of the crater.
It seemed to take forever to get to the top. Please let this be a dream...
Once I got to the top I looked around. There wasn't a single building left of the town.
I called out in the languages I knew.
Nothing called back.
I stood there frightened.
To the front and sides of me were forests.
Behind myself beyond the crater was flat land. Which way should I go?

Zeke sat shivering next to his campfire.
Night was beginning to fall, and the dramatic temperature change was surprising. It never got this cold at night before, especially during the summer.
In the far shadows, Zeke could hear strange groans and moans. However, they seemed to like the darkness, and didn't come out, so Zeke couldn't see what they were.
Zeke clutched the pocketknife in his hand. "Better safe than sorry..."
Hopefully someone will see the campfire smoke, and come help...
Still it's strange... How could every town disappear overnight? If it was magic, it would take an insane amount of power...
As I was figuring out which way I should go I realized it was turning night.
I know not of what would've came out that night so I drew my dagger, ready to fight.
With my keen sense of smell, I smelled something burning...
I followed my nose towards it staying away from any sounds I heard.
I came upon a male sitting by a fire.
Sitting down just beyond the illumination of the fire so he wouldn't see me I studied him.
The man had jet black hair with astonishing black eyes.
He wore glasses that seemed to be in extremely bad condition.
He had a muscular build to him and he was fairly tall for a human.
I deemed that it was safe to enter the light of the fire.
Not realizing how quickly I stood up I got dizzy and fell. My vision turned black and a pain filled my head.
I tried to open my eyes but I could not.
I could feel the heat of the fire against my face.
Then I didn't feel anything.

Night had fallen. Zeke scooted closer to the fire as night's chill swept over him.
Abruptly, a figure fell out of the shadows, head first into the fire.
"Holy shi-" Zeke yelled as he jumped up. He dragged the figure out of the fire.
With closer examination, it was a female wearing vibrant clothing. An elf too.
They rarely came so close to... where the town was.
What had happened? Zeke peered into the shadows, pushing his glasses up. He saw moving figures, moving slowly and clumsily. They almost looked human. Almost. "This is insane. I must be hallucinating." Zeke muttered to himself.
He glanced at the woman lying next to him. She looked heavily armed. "I hope she's friendly or I might be in trouble when she wakes up."
"Groan..." I woke up with the man sitting next to me.
"Hello! My name is Vevila whats yours?" I said without thinking.
"Ack!" I clenched my hand. It burned like nothing I've ever felt before.
-TWANG-
An arrow landed by my head, inches away.
"JESUS" I said.
I drew my longbow and readied for the onslaught from the shadows.

Zeke saw the woman blink her eyes open.
Good, she's alive.
She then proceed to talk in a language he didn't understand. Most likely Elven. Luckily, she looked friendly.
Suddenly she winced, her hand was badly burned. Zeke was going to reply, when an arrow flew out of the shadows, inches away from the woman's head.
The woman gracefully stood and pulled out a longbow, ready to fight. Zeke stumbled to his feet, pulling out his pocketknife. Who shot the arrow? Was someone else out there?
Zeke heard the rattling of... bones? Another arrow shot from the shadows, missing Zeke's head by a centimeter.
"God dammit!" Zeke yelled as the attacker stepped out of the shadows. A skeleton with bleached bones, and a permanent grin stepped out. Each step rattled it's bones as it notched another arrow onto it's bow.
"If you understand English, RUN!" Zeke yelled at the woman as he grabbed a stick out of the fire and ran into the trees. If she didn't understand English, hopefully she would follow him.
"It is YOU who should stay here my friend!" I yelled at him.
I released an arrow at the skeletal archer.
It went right through him and he shattered into pieces.
I turned at the sound of something groaned.
A green being in tattered clothing advanced from the tree line.
Releasing another arrow I heard him grunt and saw him fall to the ground.
Another being came from behind him, the arrow protruding from him.
I put away my longbow, realizing that this was a time for speed, not accuracy.
I shot off an arrow from my riding bow, it caught the being in the head leaving him to die.
A large black thing fell from the sky in front of me, I jumped to the side and rolled.
Finishing the roll I shot off 3 arrows into the things legs, torso and head.
-TWANG-
An arrow whizzed by my head missing by mere inches, again jumping and rolling away from it.
I banged into a tree and fell to the floor.

Zeke stopped in his tracks. She spoke English?
"But I-I can't figh-Geezus!" Zeke exclaimed as an assortment of different creatures burst out of the shadows fighting the woman.
Zeke groaned. He began to sprint back towards the elf. Even with that short distance, a monster managed to jump out in front of Zeke. It was a rotten green... person?
Zeke stabbed it's head, green slime oozed onto Zeke's hand as the creature fell.
Out of the corner of his eye, Zeke saw the elf slam into a tree and fall.
"Crap!" Zeke ran over and stood in front of her, pocketknife in his hand.
A multitude of creatures were in front of them. Skeletons chattering their teeth, the green creatures lumbering towards him, and what seemed to be gigantic spiders ran forward.
Suddenly, a fireball flew out of the trees, instantly incinerating four of the monsters.
"What the-?" Zeke exclaimed.

Brokcrest
((This is a character that doesn't have an application, because he's more like an NPC.))
I walked through the forest, branches reaching towards my black cloak.
I smiled as I saw a glow in the trees. It seems there were some people still alive.
Hmm.. it seems they're under attack? That isn't good.
I lifted my right hand, aiming towards the crowd of monsters.
"Fyre." I said calmly, as a blazing white fireball streaked towards three monsters.
I felt energy enter my body as they incinerated.
"You two okay?" I asked as I stepped out of the shadows. "These pests sure are annoying." I pulled out my long sword preparing to fight. "Care to join me?"
When I finally looked up a man was asking if we could join us.
Just as I was about to respond with an answer I realized who this man was.
"Brokcrest I would ratherDIEthen join you on your journey."
My reply was filled with venom and hate.
This man was an assassin when I was younger.
He killed 3 of my friends. When he targeted me I broke his arm and left him to die.
Apparently he lived.
I started to walk away.
"You would be wise to join me human and leave this man alone."

"Really? This guy? I don't understand... why did he save our life then?" Zeke asked as he started walking towards the elf.
"Sorry uh... Brokcrest... She saved my life first." Zeke smiled and started running towards the elf. "Hey! Wait up!"

"Wait up!" The human yelled as he chased after the elf.
Pitiful.
Who knew the survivors would be so... annoying.
Sure I killed that elf's friends but... it was part of my experiment.
"Very well Vevila. Have fun with Zeke. Just remember, I'll always be there to help if you need it..."
I smiled as I watched them leave.
"But if you stayed... I would have told you how all this has happened. I mean, I am the one that did it..."
As the man finally caught up to me I felt the urge to run farther.
I stopped, and turned to the man.
"Your glasses are in a bad state of repair. Let me fix them." I slowly removed the glasses from his face.
"Don't worry this will be quick."
I turned my back on him.
"Spirit of Earth. I am sorry to call you again but this man's glasses are in a horrendous state of repair. May you please repair them?" I waited for several moments. Nothing happened.
"Alas of Spirit of Earth. I am sorry. It would seem the spirits are not willing to help me right now. I'll just have to use my regular magic..." I turned back to the man.
"Repayrthy glassesof this human male." A flash of purple light and the glasses were fixed.
I placed them back onto his now ash stricken face.
"Sorry you had to see that." I said to him kindly.

"Wha-what in the world! You can use magic? Tha-that's... awesome!" Zeke yelled.
"Wait, about that Brokcrest guy... he said that he knew how this all happened. Actually, I even think he said that he did it! It wouldn't hurt to listen right? I know that you wanna know. Well... I do... I lost my whole village! I mean, you can probably fight him off if he attacks us. You did it once! "
Zeke smiled sheepishly, now slightly afraid of the newcomer now that he discovered that she could use magic.

Qualien
All I saw was an eternal darkness. Like sleep, but for some reason it didn't feel like sleep. I was still conscious, aware of my surroundings. I wondered why I couldn't see. Did I go blind? Am I dead? Where even am I? After a couple moments of pondering, I flutter my eyes, revealing quick flashes of green and brown against a black background. ... Oh. I open my eyes to see my night-vision kicking in. I could see the swaying branches of a tree above me, and I feel the soft, cool touch of grass beneath me. I heard the wind, bugs, hundreds of things. It was serene, calming. Everything felt so peaceful. I raised myself from the ground and slowly crawled to my feet. Everything was aching, as if I had run several miles to get here. I looked around and saw more trees. Trees upon trees upon trees, as far as I could see past all of the other trees and occasional bushes. From time to time, several small and large brown-colored entities rushed across the ground, taking refuge in the vast foliage. "Where the F#!$ am I!?!"

"
Spirit of Earth. Please Repair this bow of mine."The ground around my rumbled its reply.
A flash a grey light and my bow was back to normal.
"
Praise be to you. Mighty spirit of the Earth!"I got up a little to quickly.

((You're too good at this. Haha!))

"
Hello! My name is Vevila whats yours?" I said without thinking."Ack!" I clenched my hand. It burned like nothing I've ever felt before.
-TWANG-
An arrow landed by my head, inches away.
"
JESUS" I said.I drew my longbow and readied for the onslaught from the shadows.

"Brokcrest I would rather DIE then join you on your journey."
My reply was filled with venom and hate.
This man was an assassin when I was younger.
He killed 3 of my friends. When he targeted me I broke his arm and left him to die.
Apparently he lived.
I started to walk away.
"You would be wise to join me human and leave this man alone."
Goddamn do I hate this name z_z
"Really?
"
Spirit of Earth. I am sorry to call you again but this man's glasses are in a horrendous state of repair. May you please repair them?" I waited for several moments. Nothing happened."
Alas of Spirit of Earth. I am sorry. It would seem the spirits are not willing to help me right now. I'll just have to use my regular magic..." I turned back to the man."
Repayrthy glasses of this human male." A flash of purple light and the glasses were fixed.I placed them back onto his now ash stricken face.
"Sorry you had to see that." I said to him kindly.
Goddamn do I hate this name z_z
"Wha-what in the world! You can use magic? Tha-that's... awesome!" Zeke yelled.
"Wait, about that Brokcrest guy... he said that he knew how this all happened. Actually, I even think he said that he did it! It wouldn't hurt to listen right? I know that you wanna know. Well... I do... I lost my whole village! I mean, you can probably fight him off if he attacks us. You did it once! "
Zeke smiled sheepishly, now slightly afraid of the newcomer now that he discovered that she could use magic.
