"Indeed." Grumbles Aulwin. "There is much to discuss. However, now is not the time. We must press onward. The barrier may have been breached, yes, but it is only the first layer of defense. Doubtlessly, the path ahead is filled with wards and traps, designed to keep the unwanted both out and in. I know I am not in charge in this situation, but I suggest that I take point. After all, I have the greatest chance to avoid being killed or injured by any magical defenses." Aulwin lifts up his shield, the polished metal glimmering in the sunlight. "After that, our less armored individuals would make up the middle of the formation, while Rokru leads the back of the column, keeping watch for an attack from behind. Any objections?" As he is suggesting this course of action, Aulwin straps on his shield, dons his helmet, and sheathes his sword.

"Aulwin's suggestion sounds good to me.." Rokru nod to Aulwin agreeing with his plan. Once the Dark Lord approve of Aulwin's plan the guardians took their formation and enter the cave ahead of them. The sight of the interior within the cave is rather completely different from what the cave entrance suggest, even though the place is really aged the atmosphere it gives off show how important it is or used to be. As if it was built to oppose the guardians intrusion the whole place seems to reek of runic essence giving off the same vibe as what the guardian experience at the cave entrance barrier, and the density keep increasing as the party venture further in.
After some distance is covered walking through the path, the group had finally reach a massive room filled with countless archways that hold only shadow behind it. Standing oddly among them however is what seems to be a golden door located at the furthest reach of the room. The density of the runic essence here is greater what the party had experience along the way. Once everyone enters the room the path behind them was immediately sealed off with a barrier similar to what they faced at the entrance, in addition to that coming out from the shadow of numerous archway is a group of armored figure arm with a variety of rune enchanted weapons. Within moments the armored enemies assemble their formation to guard the golden door behind them but with the pace of a new enemy appearing out of the archway one after another the room will certainly be full of them rather soon.
Calamitas may have obliterated the formation blocking the door, but he hadn't done anything to manage the flood of enemies pouring from the room's archways. The enemies were concerning in their number and their weaponry - Anirael couldn't be sure what those runes weapons did until someone got hit by them. The heroes left these armored warriors as traps, defenses surely intended for and capable of battle against the Dark Lord and the guardians. To believe the enemies posed no threat likely meant certain death.
First, the guardians needed an advantage. Anirael summoned Tristan and Ahsa, a spear forged from the soul of an idealistic paladin who sought to pierce the darkness of the Tower on his own. The spear was nearly useless in single combat, possessing no greater power than a foot soldier's weapon, but glowing with the light of a great fire that interfered with the vision of both the wielder and the opponent. Anirael's only uses for it were as a flashy distraction and as a support tool for Gastine. Anirael quickly drew Tristan as Ahsa contorted into a condensed spiraling arrow. Between its shape and its radiance, it looked not unlike a metal stake that had been twisted and freshly removed from a monstrously hot forge. He aimed upwards and fired, the arrow embedding itself partway into the ceiling. In an enclosed space like this, Ahsa could serve as a lamp, ensuring all combatants cast a tangible shadow. The hundred Gastine clones would be imperative for crowd control in this battle.
Still unsure of the runes on the weapons, Anirael elected to keep his distance, firing a plethora of weaker souls from Tristan through multiple enemies before calling each weapon back to the Memorial.
Dral'Nasraki countered enemies from all sides with her blade, her clawed wings, and her spiked tail. The guards' armor were no match for the thoroughly honed talons on her forelimbs. However, as even more enemies started to swarm around the guardians, the dragon seemed overwhelmed, but she kept on slashing the enemy down.
With the support from Anirael, without delay Gastine's use his power to created hundred of shadow clones directly behind the armored enemies. Hundred of Gastine clones draw its shadow sword and back stab the armored enemies, after eliminated the enemies the shadow clones went back into the shadow and continued to move to the another prey that were still currently alive. While Gastine keep his distance, unsure of what those rune weapons may effect him.

The beam fired by Calamitas manage to disintegrate and pierce through a group of front line soldier however once it pass through to the inner area near the golden door the beam was block by a group of soldier armed with runic shield. The teamwork between Anirael and Gastine manage to reduce the number of enemies greatly however it wasn't long before the amount of soldier they defeat replenish, to make the matter worse multiple soldier starts crawling over the wall planning to surround the group from behind attacking them from all direction.
Two soldier was able to reach the rearguard of the party but they are immediately intercepted by Rokru was position there with the great swing of his sword Rokru crush one of the two enemy but the soldier was not as weak as they would seems to be, the remaining soldier pay no heed to its fallen ally and pierce its spear forward at once the speed of the attack was faster than what Rokru had expected but through quick reflects Rokru manage to stop the blade from going through his chest with the sacrifice of hand being impale by the blade. Another swing was deliver to the spear soldier by Rokru returning it to dust, "Not as weak as you look.." said Rokru when suddenly a surge of pain run through the skeleton lord's body, "This is?!!!" Power was quickly drain out of Rokru's body through the spear still sticking through his hand, Rokru grab the spear and remove it from his hand immediately canceling effect. "Careful! do not let these weapon touch you it will drains you of your power!" Rokru warned his fellow guardian as more enemies start to approach the group.
The Dark lord speaks up once he finishes analyzing the situation they're in "From the looks of it these soldiers have no will of their own so there must be a main body controlling them all, whatever it is it must be behind those door. Anirael, Calamitas and Dral'Nasraki you three with range attack shall be our main attack force, we should avoid close combat as much as possible. Rokru you shall take out any leftover enemy who survived the three's attack and protect the group. Aulwin and Gastine you two find a way to breach those shield guards in the inner circle. Make haste to the golden door before this place is swarm with them".
Aulwin nods, then vanishes into a grey mist. He reappears behind the shield wall, and with no hesitation, begins to strike. With a flurry of slashes and thrusts, the force defending the great gold doors is devastated, with arms, heads, and even entire torsos thudding to the ground in Aulwin's wake.
With each shot Anirael, fired, his vexation grew. Was this really a trap laid by the heroes? A mere saturation attack of faceless minions, a battle devoid of all pride and honor? This engagement held no deeper meaning for anyone involved. Anirael could hardly believe the heroes could justify to themselves the construction of a trap that runs so counter to their own beliefs. This was an affront to the dignity of all the guardians - no, this was an insult to the Dark Lord himself. He wanted to scream, to put whoever would dare dishonor his liege back in their place, but he held himself back. The trap's architects likely passed away hundreds of years ago.
Anirael increased the number of projectiles fired with each shot - first to two, then to three. Each individual missile tore through several of the grunts. It had reached the point where Anirael consistently killed a dozen or more enemies every time he pulled back Tristan's string, though launching multiple weapons at once reduced his rate of fire considerably. Though he mostly retained his composure, his fury contorted the sound of his breathing into a noise akin to growling.

The advancement towards the golden door was truly worthy of the guardians reputation. The enemy forces were continuously storm by a series of range attack from the three guardians, Anirael, Calamitas & Dral'Nasraki, who is positioned on each side of the group. Rokru who act as the party's shield manage to fend off numerous soldier that manage to dodge the range attack and those that drop from the ceiling quite effectively. While Gastine and Aulwin who were task with defeating the door guards manage to clean out the area from its former threat. Gastine and Aulwin who is currently the party's vanguard push through the golden door forcing it to open slowly, once all members have enter Rokru and Calamitas as well as his brothers rush out to close the door behind them sealing the soldier attacks however the aggressive soldier from before had stop their movement completely standing still and watch as the intruder enter the room they had guarded before.
Upon entering the golden door a room filled with glittering gold awaits them, Many massive ancient statue can be seen on the sideline their arrangement show a path that lead forward to the inner sanctum of the golden room. "The part of my power is close... there is no doubt that this room is the place that sealed it" said the Dark Lord sensing his power nearby. once the group reach the inner part of room they witness a gigantic statue dye with it's majestic golden color sitting upon its golden throne, even with such a massive sanctum it is barely able to contain the size of this statue. At its chest a hole filled with multiple binding chains can be seen along with a excessive shadowy substance that leaks out of its confinement, a presence all guardians are familiar with. The statue eyes lit itself with magical flames as the party approach its domain, grabbing its swords which is also ablaze with golden flames. The sanctum true guardian has finally awoken.
A brief flicker of fear passes through Aulwin's heart, followed by a sharp spike of annoyance. What HEROES use bound constructs? The hypocrites... Aulwin had felt this way only once before, standing among his troops at the great gate of the Lord's tower.
Aulwin steels his nerves, and sheaths his sword. Crouching down, Aulwin sheds his gauntlets, and begins to run full-speed at the construct. Leaping, Aulwin soars through the air, landing with a thud on the leg of the giant. With nothing more than a grunt, he begins to climb.
Dral'Nasraki knew that intimidation was useless against the statue, and that it might hurt her at close range. A deafening wingbeat resounded through the chamber as the dragon flew up and began shooting fire at the giant statue's limbs.

The great statue let off a mechanical roar as the guardians started their assault. Calamitas and Dral'Nasraki focus their attacks upon the limbs of the giant, a perfect strategy against the runic weapons they had faced before however this time their enemy is clad with high density of runic essence similar to the rune shield the guard soldiers were holding capable of nullifying even the attacks of the guardians. Aulwin who decided to make the climb on the statue massive body was directly expose with rune essence covering it's body. While Aulwin's sword was unaffected by the rune power, he is still surrounded by something akin to a runic energy field draining his strength as time ticks away. But through the climb Aulwin found a crystal gem implant upon the giant skins countless identical gems can found embed all around the skin of the colossus, while the statue defense seems impenetrable at first glance the runic barrier surrounding these gems seems to be weaker than the rest.
While the other guardian trying to take down the great statue. Gastine's know exactly what he needs to do, he spawn his shadows clone. Gastine's shadows clone dash around the great statue getting its attention as a decoy, in order to buy the guardian time to identify the great statue weaknesses to penetrate this rune shield of the gigantic mechanical object that are currently seem to be unstoppable with this high density of runic essence.

Aulwin who found the gems that rooted around the giant's skin sense less runic essence surrounding it, with a thrust from his sword he shatter the gem in front of him weakening the statue nullifying barrier around that area. With what seems to be the giant weakness discovered, the information was relay to the other guardians through telepathic message. Rokru who is positioned on the ground uses his undeath magic to create a bone javelin that emerge from the ground on his command. The skeleton lord grab hold of his weapon and take aim at the golden statue ahead, through his monstrous strength the javelin was sent flying at an incredible speed which pierce through one of the targeted gem shattering it.

Numerous gems that powered the statue runic energy are being shatter one after another slowly weakening the great barrier. Due to the size of the giant protecting the gems around its body from the attacks of multiple guardians seems to be impossible. Sustaining a certain degree of damage the statue fell down on one of its knee, black flames then starts leaking out from within its chest as it press one of its hand against it trying to regain control of the black flames inside. But the attempt was futile as the damage it had received was higher than what it had calculated, the uncontrollable black flames then fling itself out from the statue chest and dash towards the Dark lord's shadow merging together as both made contact. "Yes... this is it.. this power.." said the Dark lord tasting his returned power again after the long separation.
Though an amount of sealed power had returned to the Dark lord's possession the rest was forcibly stops by the statue clinging to its mission of safeguard the remaining black flames within it. The statue regain its stance as it lit the golden flames on its blade once more but something was different multiple attacks from the guardians is suddenly able to penetrate the statue barrier as if the runic barrier was turned off for a moment. The statue pays no heed on the damage it increasingly received as it holds its sword in front of it with both hand channeling its power and gradually increase the size of the golden flames that coat the sword. Rokru who notice the statue changes quickly warned the other guardians "Careful! its preparing for an attack!!". Rokru then dash out towards the statue line of fire as he press his hand on the ground and concentrate on his power then shout out "Skeletal Wall!!!" through his undeath magic he create multiple massive wall of skeleton remains in front of him forming the six layers of protection wall to provide cover for both himself and his allies behind. Within moments later it was as expected, the statue had completed its channeling and swing its sword downward at the enemies in front of it, the great wave of runic energy immediately penetrate the first to third layer of the skeletal wall upon contact showing the devastated power it contain, soon the fourth to fifth layer was destroyed leaving last line of defense remain. After a moment of clash between the two power an explosion of shock wave erupt as a result which dissolve the runic energy and crumble the skeletal wall, the shock wave however had sent Rokru who was the closes to the skeletal wall flying half way across the sanctum crashing on one of the wall behind. The great statue who had discard its defense for attack power now starts it second channeling as the golden flames on its sword start to increase.
The Dark Lord who had regain an amount of his power back starts to sense another awakening at the tower, it seems like his returned power manage to trigger the resurrection of two more guardians. Through telepathic communication the Dark Lord gives out a brief idea of the situation and summon them for back up immediately with the help of the new guardians the situation could be change to their favor.
Castiel gasped for air as a loud noise ringed throughout his mind , the noise seemed familiar, yet distant , weak, he proceeded to open his eyes.
He was standing in the middle of what seemed to be a grassy plain some flowers were sprouting here and there, giving off an odd blue translucent glow, sparsely lit by twilight and a crescent moon , yet somehow he knew, deep inside him, that he wasn't outside he walked toward the plain's edge, and noticed it ended in a cliff, waves of deep blue water crashing against it's flank, littered with spiked rocks at the bottom.
Castiel stretched his back, stretching his wings in the process, he only took a quick glance at them, sighting '' Well, seems i'm still fallen..'' Suddently he heard a familiar voice, but where did he heard it before? Castiel focused on the voice's tone, remembering a dark figure, the lord , the lord was calling him.
He quickly made his way throught the tower's floors , heading outside towards the cave , as he enters it he notices at once that the caves are filled with mindless soldiers , not only that, the place was dark he grinned, proceeding to use one of his ability, shadow wings, to pass throught the soldiers unseen and quickly make his way toward the golden room , as he arrived he noticed the statue preparing for an attack, and some fellow guardians he could vaguely remember of , he proceeded to use his shadow wings ability to note for any opening or runes that might have been left behind by the other guardians to strike.
Gel's eyes shot open, the intrusive white light blinding him. He slowly rose to his feet, blinking as he waited for his eyes to adjust to the white light. And yet, the white did not go away. The bright white was soon replaced by a dull, hazy white. It was at this point that Gel realized he was in the heart of a snow storm. It looked just like his sanctum, and yet, it was different. Gel shuffled forward, his cloak billowing in the wind and his feet leaving light footprints which were quickly filled with more snow. There was only snow. Snow covered the ground as far as the eye could see. Squinting, Gel could make out white birch trees, but these too were mostly covered in snow, preventing them from being clearly spotted. However, the snow and wind were dark, not bright. When he was in his sanctum, the sun shone down on him, causing every flake of snow to shine with a radiant, gem-like beauty. The snow that surrounded him was a dark white, almost a light gray. This alone told Gel that he was not in his sanctum, but was, in fact, indoors.
"The Dark Lord?" He gasped, his voice hoarse from an indefinite period of silence.
There was only one other place in this world that looked very much like Gel's sanctum, and yet was also not Gel's sanctum. That was, of course, the eleventh floor of Casondora, the Dark Lord's tower. For some reason, both the tower and Gel had risen again, and he intended to find out why.
"The others." He muttered.
Gel knew that, if he had been resurrected, the other guardians must have been as well. In order to obtain answers, he had to speak with them first.

My current avatar is Gyro Zeppeli from the popular manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. He's my favorite character. I love his optimism, dry humor, and his ability to do considerable damage even without a stand.
Aulwin was having a very rough ride. As the construct stirred into motion, Aulwin was flung along with it. The rough stone tore at his fingers, adding slippery blood to the list of things that could cause him to become a plate-armor pancake. Somehow, he kept his grip, although his sword flew from his grip into the abyss below. With a jolt, the construct suddenly lost its golden sheen! Aulwin took the opportunity to become incorporeal, slipping inside the construct's outer shell, and exposing its inner components to his bleeding, aching hands.

The runic sword glow with intense radiance as its wielder channel its energy into the sword coating it with the golden flames. The destructive scale of this attack was earlier demonstrated by its capability of demolishing Rokrus skeletal walls completely and within Rokru's defensive arsenal the skeletal wall creation was second to none. With Rokru out cold, there will be no skeletal wall to protect the guardians from the statue next attack.
Aulwin who attempt to climb onto the statue itself decides to use his ability to pass into the body of the construct, inside he finds a massive circuit of runic energy that circulate the energy throughout its body. The Dark Lord who is connected to Aulwin through telepathy told him about the situation outside in which the statue is about to unleash its devastating attack once again and with Rokru unconscious the attack must now be stop instead of defending against it. Aulwin who is now out of time decided to plunge his remaining shield into the flow of energy in front of him causing a great explosion from within the statue, Aulwin who manages to shift into ethereal form just in time was barely able to escape the blast. The unexpected explosion broke the giant channeling which also destroy its left arm that descend upon the ground shatter the area below. With both the barrier inactive and the fearsome attack suspended, the opportunity now rise for the guardians to defeat their colossal enemy before it could regain it's strength.
With the great statue weaked, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to strike close-range. Dral'Nasraki flew up and up, until her wings were about to hit the ceiling of the chamber, then dove right down at the statue. Right before she collided with it, the dragon spread her wings to stall, and the sudden stop sent her tail swinging at the statue, hitting home as the spikes dug into its neck. However, the blow did not seem enough to sever the head from the body...
"Indeed." Grumbles Aulwin. "There is much to discuss. However, now is not the time. We must press onward. The barrier may have been breached, yes, but it is only the first layer of defense.
He awoke to the sound of bells.

(Can you describe the inside of the construct?)
However, the blow did not seem enough to sever the head from the body...
sometimes, nullposts must be made.
