The second half of Annie's face conforms to the smile as her eyes narrow with sinister appeal. Her breath becomes heavy with excitement. As if she is unable to contain her following actions, she grabs Ei, cupping her hands about her jaw and kisses her tight upon the mouth. Pulling away and releasing Ei, she responds with a confirming nod.
"He has been my toy... I am with him already. But sure, you can use that for yourself." Annie refers to the snowman. But her face then drops with the introduction of another, not so pleasurable matter. "Another has come to visit him. This other one I can not stand to be near. He has ruined my fun. For that... I will kill Ariel soon." She smiles again. "But first more fun. Yes.... Let us torment him."
Though Ei is at first startled by the sudden kiss, she quickly gives in, smiling when Annie pulls away.
"So, ehm.. Right. Ariel. You were already there you said? Is he with others, or not?"
Ei reaches into the snow to her left, and pulls out a large chest. She opens it, searches it, and finally presents a bottle and a needle.
Vernon feels a great relief at the sight of the key and doesn't hesitate to take it. With the key in his pocket, he turns to Ki, smiling. "Now, let's get the hell out of this god forsaken place and find the second."
They head back to the stairs that they entered from, and arrived once more at the surface within the tomb.
Ariel glances back at Annie, kinda happy she had backed off, also pleased by the new, unhappy look on her face. And that's the impact my family has on evil he thinks.
"That's fine by me," He said with a shrug, following on with Maras and Renard; "Let's get this show on the road."
He removes the second bottle of alcohol from his pocket and casts it aside.
"So, are we just going to wander around and hope to find something, or what?
"So, are we just going to wander around and hope to find something, or what?
"There's got to be a way in," replies Renard, "else it'd be nonsensical to build a castle on top of a plateau. We'll weave around the town investigating anything interesting while simultaneously moving towards the plateau, and if we don't find anything, we'll inspect the area around the plateau for tunnels or anything else. That's the plan, got it?"
"Hm..." Jack continues to look up at it for a moment before kneeling down again, removing his armor, weapons, shield, and other bits of equipment that contain metal. Pulling up the rope he had used to climb up to the belfry, he throws it so that it passes over a sturdy-looking section of the machinery and with some caution begins climbing the rope to get closer to the machine, trying to get a better look at it.
As Jack climbs up the rope, he spots several things. A few small dents in the device, some words in an unknown language written on various parts of the machine, and a small fluid container that is slowly being emptied and is almost empty.
"So, are we just going to wander around and hope to find something, or what?
Ariel laughs lightheartedly. "Hey, I'm all ears. If you don't know a way up there, then your guess is as good as mine. I'm supposing the three of us making it first to the plateau would be the best first move that I can see."
He pulls some more candy from his pocket and offers it to Renard and Maras. "Something for the road?"

Jack pays little attention to the dents, figuring they're most likely just from age; the writing and the container catch his interest, however, and though he can't understand any of the writing itself, he memorizes a few of the symbols in case someone else in town- be it a resident or one of the other visitors- would have a better idea of its meaning than he did. He looks up at the near-empty fluid container, a strange temptation to take it from the machine overcoming him as he reaches to grab it, attempting to pull it free from the mechanism.

"I am." Annie speaks, now visibly double minded, her thoughts with Ei, yet elsewhere also. "He is. There are two others." Her eyes connect with Ei, calm, persuasive. "I want to kill the other one too. Him with the hand barrels. Ren... ard. I do not like the way he talks."
She appears to return more to the conversation at hand as she then crouches down by the chest in a rather unladylike manner, feet wide apart, knees at her shoulders, robe pulled up, and starts her own rummage through the items inside like one might flick through a display of cheap socks at a store.
"But let's start with Ariel," She determines, holding up a strange object between her finger and thumb to analyse it closely; "I don't know who that other boy is. Mar... something."
As Vernon and Ki leave, they bump into Uyir & Co.
As Vernon and Ki exited the stairwell into the tomb, they found Uyir and the others entering the tomb via the main door. It would seem that in an instant they were face to face, and Vernon in that instant did not recognize any one of them. He knew them only as strangers to the town of Waise.
At a speed that seemed shockingly unnatural for a man of his age, Vernon had stepped in front of Ki to serve as a human shield, simultaneously raising both crossbows with a quick flick of both thumbs that loaded a round of bolts into each with a loud snap that pierced the confines of the tomb. One was pointed at the head of Uyir, the other at the head Jord.
"State your business!" His voice was sharp, hard, showing no sign of fear, while his eyes shifted fast from person to person, aware of any further move they might make.
Ace flicks their wrist, tossing a handful of glowing objects into the air around them. As they orbit them, they glow, projecting a hexagonal tube of light around them that stretches to both floor and ceiling.
"Why don't you state yours?" Their tone is pompous, but their voice is cold. The walls on either side of Vernon start to shudder. "And lower those crossbows, unless you would like to learn what it is like to lack a third dimension."

At Ace's first move, Vernon had shifted his aim from Jord to them. By time Ace had finished their response, he had used his foot to shift Ki a little more to one side behind him, further from Aces line of possible attack while the other crossbow remained on Uyir. Vernon however did not flinch. He held his ground. He held his tongue. He awaited an answer to his question from any of them.

Likely not Annie, and they did not seem to be a father and daughter. So he unsheathed his sword with his other hand, and drops it on the ground. "Patience Ace, if you would please, I do not believe he wishes us harm, although I do think he would try and kill us if we attacked him. Renard's boisterousness and constant wisecracking had seemed to stop temporarily. Only the sound of snow crunching under the party's feet could be heard as they travelled slowly through the town. Though he would raise his head to glance around at the buildings lining the streets, Renard seemed to be lost in his thoughts-- and indeed he was, attempting to put all the pieces together in his mind.
The man from the belfry. The strange machine that had replaced the bell. The murderous, kidnapping group. Lyudmila and the kid's 'mistress'. The castle. The beasts that seemed to be nonexistent apart from the time one had appeared in the Inn.
Renard knew he was missing more than half of the puzzle. There was no point trying to connect the pieces right now, and trying to do so only created more questions: what exactly were the people in this town afraid of? Who would build a castle on top of a plateau? What exactly were the agendas of Lyudmila and the kid? When would he finally get the chance to wash his cape? And finally, the last question of all-- what exactly was he trying to accomplish by even trying to solve the mystery? Did he really think he could 'save' Waise?
Renard grasped the locket hanging from his neck tightly. Save Gwendolyn and solve the mystery behind the town. He knew what he had to do, even if he didn't know why. A sigh is let out, his cold breath permeating the air as a result.
"...Damn, besides those two, there's gotta be more crazy hot chicks in this town to be on the lookout for, right?"
Uyir raised his shield and crouched down slightly, so he better covers himself with his protective shield, and then noticed the girl behind Vernon. Likely not Annie, and they did not seem to be a father and daughter. So he unsheathed his sword with his other hand, and drops it on the ground. Based on what I have seen so far, the quarantine doesn't seem to be working so well, nor would it hold back a hostile entity that I have encountered"
They lower their hand, tucking it under their cloak. After a second, the trembling stops. They don't drop the shield, though. "Quarantine?" they say, quietly. "Ah, that would explain it."
As Jack touches the mechanism to pull it off, he gets zapped by electricity, causing him to lose grip on the rope and he falls back down, landing on the belfry floor with a dull thud, in response to which the entire tower seems to shake.
As Jack lands on the floor, he lies there for a moment as the tower shakes, sitting up as it calms. "Well, looks like that's not an option..." He takes another look back up at the machine, this time focusing on the numerous valves covering it; he takes note that at least a few would have been in reach, and contemplates whether or not he should risk getting electrocuted again or potentially miss the opportunity to figure out something important about the device.
After a few moments, he decides that now is the time for action, not contemplation, partly because the tower doesn't seem very stable and he doesn't want to spend too much time in it. He reaches into his coin pouch on the floor nearby, removing a silver coin and looking at both sides of it before placing it on his other hand, flicking his thumb upwards. The coin flips into the air, spinning rapidly several times before landing on the ground in front of Jack. He looks at the coin, picking it up and putting it back into the pouch before standing up once more.
He grabs the rope, climbing back up to the point where he can reach a few of the valves, and tries turning one, bracing himself for another jolt of electricity.

Niamh notices the tower of the church trembling. There are cracks along the halfway mark of it. Niamh decides that the best idea would be to collapse the tower in the opposite direction of the roof of the Church.
She shouts at the tower in the loudest voice she can muster.
"I'LL BE COLLAPSING THE TOWER. PLEASE GET OUT IF YOU'RE IN IT."
She places her wall hammer on a tree stump.
She goes to the opposite side of the church and sits down cross-legged.
She checks her surroundings before closing her eyes.
A massive blue primal detection circle forms around her, a couple meters in diameter.
Another small faint circle around her feet appears. It's just a leak from the transfer of mana.
Meanwhile a giant rotating circle emits from the wall hammer. The circle floats in the air and clips through the soil, about 45 degrees. It is about 4 meters in diameter. It has a dazzling blue glare, and the different rings inside it spin faster and faster.
The hammer is to launch at an extremely high velocity towards the crack of the tower, hopefully collapsing it.

As Jack turns a valve, the device lets out a lot of green steam, and all the fluid gauges quickly empty. Above the church tower, a thunder storm sets up, with lots of lightning all hitting the main building of the church. It doesn't last very long, about a minute, but when it ends, the church roof has collapsed.

The hammer hits the tower, and it's velocity sends it flying through it, narrowly missing Boris's head, who is standing on the other side. The hammer causes the tower to collapse in on itself, and Jack will need to be quick to get out before he's crushed.
As the dust from the tower's collapse settles, a strange noise comes from within the church itself, sounding almost like the muffled roar of a beast, though it's source is a mystery. After all, there were no creatures in the church, were there?
Maras shrugs, takes some of the candy, eats it, and follows Renard and Ariel.
"Hmm... I see. Could his name be Maras, per chance?"
Ei cautiously pokes the snow Ariel on the cheek with a needle. At the same time, Ariel feels a sting on his left cheek as if he's been bitten by a mosquito or something similar.
"Well, alright then, glad we have that cleared up." Ariel says. A little further on, he feels a slight sting to his left cheek, creating an automatic reaction to slap whatever had bitten him. "Damn, so that's what a mosquito bite feels like." He mutters, hoping neither of them noticed him hitting himself.
The snowman takes the punch without being damaged in the slightest, and Orson's hand starts hurting a lot, as if he punched a stone wall.
Orson then recoils a bit in pain, while cursing under his breath.

Maras chuckles.
"That's what you're here for? To get the girls?"
"Well, alright then, glad we have that cleared up." Ariel says. A little further on, he feels a slight sting to his left cheek, creating an automatic reaction to slap whatever had bitten him. "Damn, so that's what a mosquito bite feels like." He mutters, hoping neither of them noticed him hitting himself.
Edited. Ninja'd.
Orson then recoils a bit in pain, while cursing under his breath.
Orson then runs out of the way of the collapsing tower, almost tripping on nothing while doing so.
"Looks like I got out of there just in time."
