Ariel missed Maras' question about the mosquito, too busy getting a boil on his cheek. He also has little to say about Renard's comment and Maras' follow up question, too frustrated by the pain in his hand as he drops his sword. "She's still doing it." he says and he cusses pretty loud and picks up his sword with his other hand, sheathing it quickly on his back before it is taken again. He's feeling humiliated at this point, and had very few ideas on what to do about it. But he figure testing the water was a good place to start and, once his sword was secured, he kicks Annie in the head. He figured it wasn't going to do much in the ways of injuring her, all he really wanted to know is if she was solid matter or not. No point in fighting something you can't touch.
Ariel's kick makes contact with Annie, yet she seems unaffected in ways of damage. Nevertheless, the contact puts a stop her giggles - but more than this, it seems to have caused an interruption in her ability to stay unseen by the other two with Ariel. For a moment following Ariel's strike, Annie becomes visible to Maras and Renard, just long enough for her to shift her glare to Renard and say "I'm going to bite your tongue from your mouth", before she regained her composure and vanished from his and Maras' sight once more.
Renard maintains his smirk, holding eye contact with the girl before she finally disappears.
"Hm... I seem to recall her being a lot nicer than that," remarks Renard, remembering the events of the Golden Penguin Inn. "Shame, shame, shame, another lost to the clutches of puberty."

Having been noticed, the cloaked figure shifts slightly to one side, keeps still for a moment, shifts towards them, but not far, then stops motionless again. What movements it has are smooth, gliding, unnatural for a physical being.
Above, the Raven descends to circle several meters above the heads of Boris, Jack and Niamh. As it does so, the cloaked figure begins to speak, and although it was still some distance away, its voice seems close without the need to yell, as if they were standing only an arms reach away. It was deep. Calm. Grave. Lacking emotional. Behind the voice was a sound... similar to that of a rattlesnake.
"Boris..." A moment of silence. "...I seek that which you have found." Silence. "A child... Female... Indecent...Empowered."
Renard maintains his smirk as he holds eye contact with the girl, before she suddenly disappears.
"Hm... I seem to recall her being a lot nicer than that," remarks Renard, recalling the events of the Golden Penguin Inn. "Shame, shame, shame, another lost to the clutches of puberty."
"She's a street kid who was living in Waise." Ariel tells them, ignoring Renard's joke since he was suddenly overcome with a burning sensation. As it the heat started to cool, he adds; "Her name is Annie, daughter of a local witch. I knew of her before I arrived, but only by name and avocation title. Apparently I did something to anger her back at the inn..." The cooling turned to a deep freeze, making Ariel shutter, his teethe clattering as he spoke. "..at that time she wasn't so powerful yet - we have to do something about this." He turns to Maras as he starts to heat up again - "I'm getting the feeling she isn't the only one involved. Any ideas who else might be responsible for the fact that I'm now undergoing an extreme form of menopause?"
Boris listens to the voice, but hearing that the voice doesn't seem to be coming directly from the cloaked man so far away confuses him, while the word 'Indecent' was beyond his understanding, only adding to his confusion. He also had no idea how to feel about the rattling sound he could hear while the voice was talking. In a way he understood that the voice - or maybe it was the cloaked figure - was looking for a girl, but the only girl Boris really knew enough to mention was that very bad girl, Annie. But did bad mean she was... indecent? Scratching his head, he looks at the raven circling above, then back down to Jack.
"Well alrighty then!" Betty takes the lead, feeling relatively good about given the role as leader, even if she didn't think it was going last very gosh darn long. She gives her leg a pat as she starts walking East around the plateau, and tells her little dragon friend to stay close. The only problem was (and something she preferred to keep to herself at that time) was that Betty sometimes got a little stressed out when given responsibility. Now I'm not sayn that leading this small gang of people was a big issue, but she just didn't want to let anybody down, simple as that - I mean like gosh, what if she leads them into the jaws of a monster or something like? That sort of thing wouldn't be a good start at all. So Betty tried taking her mind off the stress she was feeling by thinking about butterflies, and why not Butterflies? Butterflies were nice and pretty and made Betty feel relaxed.
"Butterflies-butterflies-butterflies!" She explained just out of the blue, but feeling much better about everything. Unfortunately, just as she spoke the words, a dark shadow came over the gang, making Betty think that maybe it was gonna start snowing again, that was until she turned around and saw a countless multitude of harmless orange Butterflies following them.
"Oh boy o boy," She said looking ahead sharply again, "best you guys don't look back right now."
Chisille, who was not the kind of dragon that would take advice such as not looking at a dark shadow behind them, especially when the one who gives the advice sounds nervous, turns around to look at what Betty was suddenly so worried about. To her surprise she saw thousands of tiny orange wings flapping in the sky above them like one great big dance.
At first she was quite alarmed by what she saw and a spark threatened to roll off her tongue, until she realized that all the little creatures in the cloud above them were merely butterflies. Harmless and slow. Not even worth the bit of food that was smaller then a snack from that one time she had managed to catch one. "It's fine. Not bad. Butterflies I think they're called. Lots of them." she tells Lyudmila and to a certain extent, Gwendolyn as well.
Her feet were starting to get quite cold from all this walking around in the snow, but without shoes like what the humans had she just had to bare the icy needles trying to dig into her paws as they all walked around the plateau. To try and take her mind of it, she got back to looking up at the rock wall, checking for any crevices, holes or other possible ways up. She couldn't keep the distraction up for long as she shook the cold out of one of her feet, but she still kept looking anyway.
Gwen twitches, turning her head towards the swarm of butterflies on instinct. For a few seconds, she stares at them, unsure of what to say.
Finally, she decides. "Do you think these would kill me if I ate them?"

Chisille sort of wanted anything to take her mind off the numbing cold going through her feet and up her legs. She wasn't one for conversation, though at Gwendolyn's words she thought she could try and remember how butterflies acted and tell her about them.
A purple and black striped butterfly had landed on a flower growing at the side of a tree. It's wings slowly went up then back down as it rested. They were hard to catch when flying, but this one looked too easy. In a single pounce it's wings were pinned to the ground and then in her mouth. Ugh, they were tasteless and somewhat feathery or hairy or something. The middle bit was ok though.
She looked to Gwen. "They don't fight. Harmless. Wings taste bad." she stated.

"'Bite your tongue from your mouth', huh...? So, she wants a piece of me, literally. Okay then... come and get it-- if you can."
Renard scoffs and tosses another piece of candy into his mouth.
"Mommy must be out of the picture if she's going out of control like this," says Renard, now adjusting the black ribbon tying his ponytail. "This is why bad parenting sucks; now some random guys have to go play the role of babysitters."
Ace's shield vanishes, leaving six points of light hovering around them. These dart into their outstretched hand, and they snappily shut their fingers around them, tucking them somewhere under their cloak. They choose to follow Vernon back to town, though they remain silent.
Uyir follows Vernon, sword sheathed, shield at his side, on his arm. He begins whistling a simple tune he's heard before in taverns
They arrive at Vernon's home. Inside, he gives them food. He has ale, water, fruit and bread to offer.
They soon continuing upon their journey, scouring the streets for indications of the two individuals in question. They seek any sign that may suggest the presence of a young witch or entrance to a subterranean passage....
"Well, that answers my question then. Who is she?" Maras asks, confused.
Ei looks at Annie, startled at her behaviour, and shakes her head.
"Why not save your anger for Ariel instead? Put it to some good use. Anger makes for good curses, you know? You should give it a try one day, curse a bunch of people. Turn them into frogs and such."
Ei seems to ponder something for a bit, then smiles.
"Watch this."
Ei gets up, and reaches into the snow, pulling out some sort of stick. She walks away a bit, and draws a circle around herself. The circle soon starts glowing orange, and foreign letters start floating around her above the circle she drew. Ei places her hand flat in the air, with the palm facing downwards, before turning it around and seemingly pulling it up. At the same time, a cauldron rises out of the ground between her and Annie. Ei walks over to it, and looks into it, smiling. She then picks up the Snow Ariel, and drops it in the Cauldron, resulting in a large eruption of colourless flame.
Despite the cold weather and the snow, Ariel suddenly finds it very hot outside, and the temperature he feels is slowly increasing until he feels like he's on fire, when suddenly the temperature he feels drops to a freezing temperature again. This process repeats several times, slowly becoming uncomfortably hot and then suddenly becoming uncomfortably cold.
"And this is only the start, Annie. If I had a more direct... connection, I'd be able to do far more. But alas, I don't have his blood or anything similar."
Annie is the picture of suspicion in regarding Ei's comment, yet her expression shifts to something more pensive... unstable, as she runs her finger gently down the front of Ei's tunic.
"You don't need blood...."
Her eyes roll up, connecting with Ei's. She lifts, tiptoed, placing another kiss on the corner of Ei's mouth. It is gentle... short, but in a way cold. At its end, Annie has scarcely pulled way. Her breath is warm, soothing against the supple skin of Ei's neck.
"...I can take you there."
Abruptly, she turns away while taking Ei's hand and holding it to the small of her back with her own. Peeking over her shoulder with a cunning grin, she speaks a word of a language her mother had taught her, proceeded by Ariel's name and, with that, they had arrived.
"Now you know how." Annie releases Ei's hand. She nods to the other Annie who then frowns, disappointed as she fades away. Ariel, Maras and Renard are oblivious of their arrival, speaking among themselves.
Boris listens to the voice, but hearing that the voice doesn't seem to be coming directly from the cloaked man so far away confuses him, while the word 'Indecent' was beyond his understanding, only adding to his confusion. Boris and Buttons had watched the whole event take place, and were quite close to where Jack ended up landing. But they are both glad to see that he is safe. Buttons rubs affectionately up against Jack's ankle. Boris is smiling, and even goes so far as to wipe some snow from Jack's clothing to help.
"Boris sure is glad Jack is okay." Boris says, but then his expression drops to a more distasteful look when he sees a girl run up to them, who was apparently responsible for the collapse of the tower, plus she was a girl, and these two things made Boris's heart thump with anger.
"You're a very bad girl!" Boris tells Niamh, clenching his fist; "You almost hurt my Jack - You don't be mean to my Jack!"
Niamh is a little alarmed by this giant hulk of a man.
"Well ok there mister, sorry I wasn't trying to hurt Jack and will not do it again!."

Jack was all but certain that the girl the figure was seeking was Annie, and the bad feeling that the cloaked figure gave him was little compared to the magnitude of what that girl had displayed she was capable of.

A Buttons Backstory
Once upon a time in a town called... err, well, let's just call it Waise, there was a young man named Bob.
Bob was a simple man who enjoyed Blueberry Pie, taking long walks around the Plateau, creating annoying musical tunes by clapping two sticks together, and randomly calling people mean names for no good reason. One day Bob met a lady friend. Her name was Jane, a really nice girl until you got to know her. Bob and Jane had their first kiss on the street outside the Gold Penguin Inn, on roughly the same spot that a Blue Whale would one day fall from the sky. Bob went onto court Jane for almost a year before he asked her to marry him. She said "No, but maybe some other time", so Bob asked her some other time and she said yes. As it happens, he proposed the second time by romantically yelling down to Jane from atop the Belfry tower that a man named Jack would one day almost die climbing. They got married in the same church that a man named Orson would one day attempt walking the stairs of one too many times - and they had people like Curi, Vernon, Tim the innkeeper, and Annie's deranged mother attend the ceremony -among other people, of course, most of whom are now dead. They spent their honeymoon in the master bedroom of the castle upon the plateau, on the one condition that they would never tell anyone of the secrets surrounding the nut job that lived there. Once the honeymoon was over, they purchased a house in the upper class district of Waise, which would later be looted by Boris the Bonecrusher. On the first anniversary of their wedding, Bob and Jane signified their eternal love by planted a tree on the spot where they first met, a tree that would one day be mounted by a frightened young dragon named Chisille. They later had two kids, Mark and Wendy, who don’t hold any significance to this story whatsoever, but they also adopted a stray kitten named Buttons, who in all likelihood probably shouldn’t have held any real significance to this story… but whatever!
Unfortunately, every perfectly normal love story has its fair share of hiccups, and in the case of Bob and Jane there was no exception to this. The trouble started on a day soon after they adopted little Buttons, which happened to be the same day that Bob found out that Jane was actually a witch. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that Jane being a witch was of any great surprise - after all, the town of Waise seemed to be filled with witched for some reason - the only real problem Bob had with Jane being a witch was that she had been lying to him ever since they met. This of course started an argument, the argument got heated, one thing led to another, Jane lost her temper and naturally, at the end of the day, she ripped out Bob’s soul and imprisoned it in Buttons the kitten for an eternity. And that, as they say, was that.
A few weeks later, Jane decided she couldn’t bear the thought of living with a kitten as a husband any longer, so she took the kids and skipped town in search of a new life, leaving Buttons all alone in that house. Eventually, Buttons had to move out as well because a new family moved in and he didn’t want strangers petting him. So every day since he… Bob, now known as Buttons the cat, has lived on the streets of Waise, desperately searching for someone - anyone at all who may be able to undo the curse and set his soul free from the kitten… if that was even possible at all.
They soon continuing upon their journey, scouring the streets for indications of the two individuals in question. They seek any sign that may suggest the presence of a young witch or entrance to a subterranean passage....
Curi nods to Vernon silently. She aids the others in her search. She did so rather quickly and silently, arms to her sides most of the time.

Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
Jack looks up at Boris, answering, "I'm not sure why, but he gives me a bad feeling," he glances at the cloaked figure before shifting his view back to Boris and continuing, "but at the same time, I suspect we'll be better off answering his questions than not." Jack was all but certain that the girl the figure was seeking was Annie, and the bad feeling that the cloaked figure gave him was little compared to the magnitude of what that girl had displayed she was capable of.
Boris decided to accept Niamh's apology for now, since Jack said she was okay.
The matter of the dark figure that awaited answers on the indecent girl was foremost on Boris's mind atm. Like Jack, Boris didn't get a good feeling from the cloaked figure, which made him feel a lot like he didn't want to disappoint the stranger at all. He therefore takes Jack's advice - also thinking that Jack was probably right about the said girl being Annie - and so finally decided to respond to the cloaked figure.
Not enjoying having to call out to people far away to talk, he walks towards the dark figure, but he isn't really scared, just cautious. Within just a few feet of the Dark figure, he glances back to see if Jack and Niamh had come with him... then looking back at the figure, he said:
"Maybe Boris knows who you're looking for. I know a very bad girl. A very, very very bad girl. Her name is Annie, you know. You should say her name if you know it. That would make things easier for Boris." He thinks for a moment, considering any other information he might have that could be helpful. "...Anyway... Boris thought he killed the bad girl in that house in the grave yard." he glances in direction of the graveyard. "But the bad girl confused Boris and Boris can't find her no more. That happened only a little while ago. Boris want to find the bad girl too you know. Boris kill her for real this time - you just wait and see."
Boris lifts one side of his mouth, showing he couldn't really think of anything else to say, and then he reaches out to give the dark figure a comforting pat on the shoulder. "I sure do hope that help you, Mr."
A little ways a way from where this is taking place, a man with no shoes and about average height and average build, dressed in a pale blue one piece, slip-on night robe, was walking on the road. The man seemed to be wandering aimlessly, each step he took appeared awkward and disorientated as he looked to be lost in a daze, head slightly tilted as his eyes gazed lifelessly up at the sky. Eventually he reached a building on the other side of the road and just walk right into the wall, unable to walk any farther even though his feet kept moving as if he wasn't aware that his path had been blocked.
Buttons, curled up in Jack's arms, took his attention from the cloaked figure to watch this man with peculiar intrigue, until the man walked into the wall and Buttons, apparently embarrassed by what he was seeing, buried his face in Jacks armor so he didn't have to watch anymore.
"Maybe the mother is dead or something? That would explain her absence. As for your menopause thing Ariel, I don't even know what that is."
Maras says, kicking around some snow out of boredom. "Are we gonna stay here and wait, or what? I'm gonna go try and find some food soon because I'm hungry, but you guys can go and try to deal with the girl if you prefer."
She looked to Gwen. "They don't fight. Harmless. Wings taste bad." she stated.
"You've eaten Butterflies before? Oh right. Gotta make do with what you can get, right? Anyway, it should be noon soon, maybe we should go and search for Lunch?" Lyudmila suggests, taking the time to make a snowball to throw at the Butterflies.
As the group wanders around, they come across a lone house standing on an island in the middle of the river that runs through the town. Smoke rises up from out of the chimney, indicating someone is there.

"Now you know how." Annie releases Ei's hand. She nods to the other Annie who then frowns, disappointed as she fades away. Ariel, Maras and Renard are oblivious of their arrival, speaking among themselves.
"Now we can have more fun."
Ei smiles as Annie gives her another kiss and brings her to where the others are.
"Why thank you, Annie. This will make things far easier."
Ei looks around at the group, seemingly stopping for a bit when looking at Maras, then continues observing the others.
"So, got anything specific in mind?"
"Before that, kid, I've got something to say," says Renard, interrupting Maras. He swallows the piece of candy in his mouth and looks at him squarely.
"You were spacing out in the midst of all that fun. If something's up, you've got to spit it out. All right, kid?"
A sombre expression flashes on Renard's face for a split second, having just said what he said knowing he was being a hypocrite.
"You've eaten Butterflies before? Oh right. Gotta make do with what you can get, right? Anyway, it should be noon soon, maybe we should go and search for Lunch?" Lyudmila suggests, taking the time to make a snowball to throw at the Butterflies.
Chisille sadly nods at Lyudmila's first couple of questions. She knows it wasn't exactly the most proud moments of her life when experimenting like that. The truth was, she had actually tried eating a lot worse things. Some of them didn't agree with her either. She didn't have time to dwell on the past though as there was a third question that needed answering.
"Lunch? What's lunch?" she asks with a confused expression within her eyes. Nice humans... they keep making her more and more confused with every second that she stays with them. She wasn't sure how she felt about that, making the confusion even worse.

"You were spacing out in the midst of all that fun. If something's up, you've got to spit it out. All right, kid?"
A sombre expression had flashed on Renard's face for a split second, having said what he had said knowing he was being somewhat of a hypocrite.
Renard's rapid expression change startles Maras, who instinctively takes a step back.
"Wha-? I was just... thinking about things, y'know? I mean, I can't tell if you do, but I for one think."
Chisille sadly nods at Lyudmila's first couple of questions. She knows it wasn't exactly the most proud moments of her life when experimenting like that. Lyudmila chuckles at Chisille's lack of knowledge on the subject. She thought that a dragon of all things would know what lunch is.
"Lunch is a meal. In other words, food. People eat meals generally trice a day. Breakfast in the Morning, when it's becoming light, Lunch around Noon, when the sun is at it's highest point, and Dinner in the evening, when it is getting darker again."
"So in other words. I am suggesting we go look for food. How's that sound?"

Chisille nods in realization when Lyudmila explains what lunch is all about, and realizes she was subjected to 'breakfast' as well. She thought it was strange that humans had decided to give names to when they eat food.
"But why wait to eat at... only three times? Why not when hungry? Why only at those times? More questions I ask, more I need to ask later..." she sighs and goes to sit down to help her in her bewilderment, then quickly stops as her underside touches snow again. The word 'food' resonated through her mind though, and at that her nose started to do it's job again.
"Ok... let's find food."

Renard's rapid expression change startles Maras, who instinctively takes a step back.
"Wha-? I was just... thinking about things, y'know? I mean, I can't tell if you do, but I for one think."
A few moments passed as Renard, eyes narrowed, stared at Maras, appearing to look right through him while his cape fluttered dramatically behind him. He looked as if he had undergone a transformation, as his face looked surprisingly intimidating without the goofy smirk he always wore.
Renard recalled the time he had met the kid back at the inn, where he had been completely devoid of emotion, compared to now, where he was being quick to defend himself against Renard's observations. Had he changed, or had he merely just been wearing a mask previously?
After what seems like forever, Renard finally turns his back to Maras. "Yeah, whatever you say, kid," he says mockingly. "Fine-- forget it. If anything, at least take what I said as advice."
He turns around again to face Maras, but his face seems to have reverted to the signature smirk that seemed to anger people and dragons alike.
"Good grief," he remarks, shrugging, "we haven't got time to be playing games with children, have we? But just look at poor Ariel; he's going to become a woman if we don't do something quick. Gonna have to have some playtime with little Annie."

"She is dead." Ariel confirms. "But it just so happens Annie has just now gone from my sight. But I mean... that doesn't mean she is actually gone, I'm guessing here. And never mind the menopause thing, Was a joke. And you know, Maras, Renard has a point, if you know something about what's going on, then speak up. We're your friends, right? In any case, I'm gonna have to go with Renard on this, let's fight this thing... somehow. I can do without food for a few hours. Ideas, Ren?"
Uyir follows Vernon, sword sheathed, shield at his side, on his arm. He begins whistling a simple tune he's heard before in taverns
"Boris needs help. I don't like that dark man."

"I told you all that I have to share."
"Now we can have more fun."
The dark figure remains Silent. Waiting.

Niamh is a little alarmed by this giant hulk of a man.
"Well ok there mister, sorry I wasn't trying to hurt Jack and will not do it again!."
- C.C.
Curi nods to Vernon silently. She aids the others in her search. She did so rather quickly and silently, arms to her sides most of the time.
Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
"Always drunk." - Nights
"He's cool." - Pi
"[INSULT] [INSULT] [INSULT]." - Sparky
"He's adorable." - Leere
"¯\_(ツ)_/¯" - Digits
"You've eaten Butterflies before? Oh right. Gotta make do with what you can get, right? Anyway, it should be noon soon, maybe we should go and search for Lunch?" Lyudmila suggests, taking the time to make a snowball to throw at the Butterflies.
As the group wanders around, they come across a lone house standing on an island in the middle of the river that runs through the town. Smoke rises up from out of the chimney, indicating someone is there.
Ei smiles as Annie gives her another kiss and brings her to where the others are.
"Why thank you, Annie. This will make things far easier."
Ei looks around at the group, seemingly stopping for a bit when looking at Maras, then continues observing the others.
"So, got anything specific in mind?"

Meet Ashen the shoulder dragon!
Renard's rapid expression change startles Maras, who instinctively takes a step back.
"Wha-? I was just... thinking about things, y'know? I mean, I can't tell if you do, but I for one think."
