There are beasts in the world... No one hasn't gotten the courage to actually defend the population against beasts larger than a Blue whale!
They have not noticed yet, but inside of the population; some beasts have become one with humans instead... Only to find to their surprise, the humans don't know that they are there, lurking among the walled cities.
These 'beasts' are from a small horse to a building in size variation. But all of them are hella ugly anyways. Some of them can spit acid. Others; not so much. They all have been around for thousands of years, and not much progress has been made to their intelligence, besides a few that have blended in. These smaller ones know both sides of the story. They are young. They don't know how to kill sufficiently. Yet; they know what they are, but they can't find a way to prove the humans the beast's weaknesses. There is also another group in all of this mess. The monster hunters.. They usually protect the borders; and range out of keep the monsters off bay. Some a merely supernatural; well, like the monsters.
Supernatural?
I know. This world is weird. But. Supernatural beings do exist, some which are nuetral and others that work aside the monsters. It is unknown where they have all come from; but the first attack was back in 1982. There was several major earthquakes for the first hours, it effected the weather for some time, only to find a monster come out of nowhere, taller than most buildings as it plowed through the bridges on the harbor.
The reason for these monster's attacks are unknown. Some say out of pure aggression; but the pure reason will never be known. For sure.
2:54 AM
All is quiet. Everything. The last attack hasn't been in several days, yet there has been a load of tension in that night. Waves crashed up against the white rocks on the coast line, near one of the heavily buffed walls filled with concrete and steel to try and protect the minor city inside. For such a large border, only a few people scouted it. Mist hung in the air, from the over fished sea. There was little to no more sealife in the oceans, due to all the eruptions in the water and the beasts in there that snapped at them all when in sight.
There are still animals. Humans. Besides that; either rats or cockroaches flying through the cites, maybe even both at the same time. Dogs have become rare; due to no point of them being there, only making a mess and requiring more room. Cats on the other hand, have reached most popularity, catching the rats that run between the very tight alleyways and homes. There is something lurking around, for sure. Yet no one has realized the 'enemy' is among them...

Dark hours of the morning, and Hannah arrives in town. For the moment she has blond shoulder length hair, green eyes and fair skin, dressed in tight blue jeans, a white singlet, black Nadja Apres Boots and a small Night Flight bag hanging loosely from the crook of one arm.
It had been almost a year since her last visit, and strongly doubted anyone would recognize her, which suited her seeing that she was a loner by nature and preferred not to get close to anyone on a permanent basis. But it was that time of year again, Hunting season, and she wasn't about to miss out on all the fresh game that had become available. Nevertheless, the first hunt would have to wait till tomorrow night, it had been a long trip and she really needed to catch up on some beauty sleep.
The city was dark and eerily quiet, just the way she liked it, as she made her way through the streets towards a small accommodation she knew so well, The Early Risers Hotel. It was actually one of the few hotels in town where reception stayed open 24/7.
She entered the lobby at 3:30 AM. She recognized the old man at reception, but the blank stare on his pallid face revealed no recognition for her.
"You been here before?" he asks, picking casually at his nostril with his thumb.
"No," she lied; "but on my way in I saw a window on the top floor in the corner overlooking the city... is that room available by any chance?"
The old man snorts, flicks a little snot ball to the side while pondering the request. "Uhh... yes, yes it is. How long ya staying for?"
"Until the game runs dry...." She gives him a cute wink.
He shrugs while giving his nose another pick. "payments are in advance; $60 a night."
"That's fine." She pulls some bills from her night flight bag and hands it to him.
"Well, enjoy your stay, I guess." He slides the room key over the counter.
"Oh, yes..." she smiles, licking her lips like a starved person smelling fresh pizza; "...I most certainly will."
Hannah goes to her room and sleeps through the following day.
OOC: apologies for my first long winded IC post, I needed to set the character. Will try and keep the posts shorter from here on.
Early In the Morning, Ethan is just standing on the wall watching the dark outskirts of the forest being one of the youngest mercenary/soldier had its perks along with its downfalls, such as getting the most BORING jobs ever, granted he got to use his guns if anything goes wrong, but the other dudes get to "guard" the town hall and get booze! He Wanted some Soda! Whats wrong with that! But they just went to that sort of place in town where they said was "too mature" for him. But then again, monsters have been popping up more than normal....Back to work!
As the sun began to peak over high concrete walls, Katarina found herself atop one of the highest buildings within the town. She sat cross-legged with a vast array of guns in front of her, rearranging them in different categorizations, in size, bullet type, efficiency; As if she was casually playing a game of solitaire. It was only a few hours ago did she complete her patrol, having the next shift assigned to another guard, named Ethan.
While humming and changing the positions of a few rifles, Katarina suddenly froze, her eyes widened. She could hear the faint echoing of a flute, before the sound disappeared a few seconds later. She bolted toward the side of the building where she heard the sound emitting from, and stuck her head out to investigate. Squinting her eyes and using her hands like binoculars, she found...nothing really. Oh wait! She thought to herself Theres that something! she could barely make out a very colourful figure, a very colourful figure.
"Well," she stood up and placed her hands on her hips. "I don't know how to explain it, but something tells me I have to go introduce myself to a complete stranger and initiate a certain sequence of events!" She then turned her head around a couple of times with a confused look. "Now, how do I get down from here?"

Insomnia. A sleeping disorder that a man named Siegfried, who was a tardy guardsman, had. Siegfried would spend time in the early hours of the morning wandering the streets of the city, for he had not much else to do. Today looked to be no different to him.
Siegfried brushed off his mantle, and, with a groan, lifted himself back up from his resting place; a stone wall.
"About 3 AM. Almost time for sunrise," he muttered to himself in a gruff voice. "Gee, wonder what punishment's in store for me for skipping my shift."
Siegfried rolled his eyes and started his walk through the street.

OOC: I think I'll just proceed forward now....
IC: After sleeping through the following daylight hours, Hannah rises from her bed in the early evening and gets ready for her the new seasons first night of hunting. She is feeling very hungry, as she hasn't eaten for almost two day, so first on her agenda is an evening Breakfast, the most important meal of the day....
After changing into her hunting getup (Apres Boots, black mini skirt, and a grey zip-up cotton vest), she styles her hair into a cute, easy to manage ponytail and walks into town. She finds an eatery in the mall where various citizens have stopped for dinner, including one young, vulnerable looking man who was seated at a table alone noshing into a burger and fries, a half drunk glass of cola to wash it down.
"Mind if I join you?"
The young man, somewhat taken aback by Hannah's presence, swallows hard, drops his burger, takes a sip of his cola and nods sharply in a failed effort to remain calm.
"S-s-sure you can" He replies.
Hannah takes the seat opposite, smiles politely, and offers her hand to greet him. "Seems all the other tables were full. My name is Hannah...."
The young man abruptly grabs her hand to shake it - "I- I'm - I mean, my name is Derek - Pleased to meet you, Hannah." He looks around with a type of stressed desperation at the surrounding food outlets. "C-can I offer you something to eat??"
"No, it's fine," She declines politely, and somewhat flattered by his nervousness towards her; "I'll get something nice and sweet for myself soon enough. But please..." She adds, as she leans her elbows on the table and stares into his big, brown eyes; "there's no need to be nervous, Derek. I won't bite...."
After a few tedious minutes and attempts, Katarina eventually found herself at the bottom of the building, searching for the surprisingly coloured person with a not-so-suprisingly younger person beside them. She retraced their steps from where she originally saw them, and eventually found the two walking down a long, busy street.
Katarina eventually found herself tip-toeing toward the two, ever so slightly getting closer. She was eventually just a few meters away from the two, but close enough to hear their private conversation.
((Sorry for the short and late post, I've been travelling))
Ethan was playing with his knife out of boredom. Ethan Groaned out of boredom again, "when is my shift oveeeer?" Hearing some growls Ethan looked over the wall to see a stray monster walking alongside the wall growling at it, "welp, duty calls!" Ethan Aimed his DMR at the monster's head and pulled the trigger, watching he blood and bones splatter the grass. "And thats and extra ration for me!" Ethan sat back down and resumed his usual activities. "hearing even more growls Ethan Looked at the forest and saw a large pack waiting there, Ethan called The City Guard, "Dude, We might have more monsters than usual, ya owe me cheese" Ethan then prepared his gun for the oncoming wave, "And PLEASE get help!"
