Here ye! Here ye! Come hither to behold a tale of great importance.
This day here marks the first day of the new century. Reports in all corners of the world promise that this future of ours holds many opportunities for intrigue, and that it shall be a future of grand events. Whether these events shall be successes or failures depends upon one's actions - and of course, one's point of view.
So, join here*, my friends, and let us together embark upon the greatest adventures which have ever befallen the citizens of the great land of Paxit!
*Maps, details, applications, discussion, and essentially anything else you might need before or during the joining of this roleplay are provided at this link, the OOC thread.
A large group of tribes bound together by a formal constitution and a shared religion, the Tribes of Sin'jok are functionally separate, except in times of war, when the tribes unite to fend off enemies. As such, no major actions are taken by them at this time.
Vatrugos:
Vatrugos' government is orchestrated by the highest religious officials of the land. Their polytheistic beliefs have lead them to build countless temples across their land. A violent history of conquering and converting neighbouring lands has created a fervent culture of nationalism amongst the population, which would spring into a crusade at the slightest suggestion of the high priests, who act as terrestrial representatives of the various deities the Vatrugi honour. A recent action of the Vatrugi was the commencement of a series of temple fortresses along the perimeter of the nation, for both military and spiritual defense against the 'barbarism' of the outside world.
Maranavok:
A hugely military nation, Maranavok has earned its place as a powerhouse amongst the nations, especially those which share a landmass with it. Excursions along the eastern and western coasts of the Fae Gulf have recently provided Maranavok with near total control of the lucrative fishing industry which the gulf provides. A tenuous new alliance with the governance of T'ing-Mat'ao should place Arenthia and the controlling interests of the Cantaraves on edge, as the military Oligarchy which controls the nation continues to promise territorial expansion in an effort to persuade residents that their impoverishment is beneficial to the nation, and therefore to them as well, in the future. Forts being constructed along the coasts of the Fae Gulf are sure to provide a military stronghold for Maranavok once completed.
T'ing-Mat'ao:
A historically reclusive and unique people, the T'ing-Mat'ao are governed by a group of democratically elected officials. These officials may be replaced once per month, as that is the frequency of these elections. Such frequency encourages constant change in policies and quick reactions which are tailored to appease the majority, but they strip the government of any consistency. While the government had a history of promoting arts, culture, and other past-times, recent elections have consistently chosen more militaristic, conservative officials in response to the threat which has been posed by Maranavok. Large portions of the population call for the treaty with Maranavok to be overturned, and upcoming elections may grant this wish. Great civil unrest in the face of efforts to strengthen a weak military provide an excess of problems for such a challenged system of governance, but any efforts to prolong terms are seen as dangerous to the democracy.
Omantiosa:
Few nations can be considered as vast as Omantiosa, not just in territory, but also in culture. The northern portions of the country could be considered a separate nation altogether, as the reach of the government does not extend to that distance. The majority of Omantiosan strength can be seen along the western coast of the Gulf of Sintos. Omantiosa's territory stems mostly from historical victories, for once the power of Omantiosa was much greater, and the northern regions were indeed powerful. A separate government established on the coast of the Norcan Strait now manages most of the northern affairs, but still professes allegiance to the southern government. Rumours suggest that the northern government may soon declare a separate nation. Ksintiosan invasionary forces have met little to no resistance along the the border, with the Omantiosan government failing to provide any more defense than a few statements. Omantiosa, as a failing, aged state, has few actions beyond efforts to maintain struggling policies, collapsing civil order, and weakly defended borders.
Tsin:
Home to a wide range of ancestrally diverse populations, Tsin, is perhaps the most successfully multicultural nation when compared to its coevals. Current actions by Tsin include a wide-spread military armament in preparation for a predicted order to strike against the weakening Omantiosa, hopefully gaining full access to the western side of the Gulf of Sintos. As well, an ambassador of the treasury has been sent to the Island Nation of Fae-Qwan in an effort to procure weaponry for the military, on the pretense of "defense purposes".
The Ksintiosan Empire:
The Ksintiosan Empire is one of, if not the, newest and most progressive nations of Paxit. Governed by an emperor, whose successor will be decided by their accomplishments in life, the Ksintiosan Empire has made grand territorial advancements against its neighbours. The navy of the empire is easily on par with that of Kyrik; some say that it was made so powerful by espionage. The likelihood of this is very convincing. The two immediate yet unspoken goals of the empire are to remove Kyriki access to Gulf of Sintos, thereby becoming the undisputed master of the gulf, and to increase the natural resources which belong to the empire. In pursuit of these goals, two actions are currently being taken by the empire. One of these is the advancement of Ksintiosan troops into Omantiosan territory. The other is intense naval patrolling of the inlet which separates the two provinces of the empire.
Basin:
Once uninhabited coastal plains, the land of Basin became prosperous after receiving a large wave of colonists from the northern territories. Agriculture and aquaculture compete to be the primary industry of the nation. Generally, peace is present. However, mountain tribesmen possibly affiliated with Mendratia have raided some of the foothill villages, causing unrest amongst some portions of the population. A voluntary militia has been formed to protect villages against these rare raids, while an ambassador has been sent to gain audience with the government of Mendratia.
Gualichos:
A hereditary monarchy, Gualichos is currently governed by a king who is generally disliked by his people due to an arrogance which has been coupled with a clearly lavish lifestyle and an unwillingness to deal with issues as presented by the population. Named Ilbik Otsensen, the King seems not to care for the concerns of his people or his nation, which worries the aristocracy, especially in these times of increased border tensions and trade relations with nations such as Q'rin, Basin, and Southern Kurubar.
Riplentique:
Riplentique thrives on trading lumber, silver, and jewels to its neighbours. The largest exchange partners of the nation are T'ing-Mat'ao, Kurubar, Tsin, Fae-Qwan, and Basin, however, this may soon dwindle, as T'ing-Mat'ao faces unrest, Kurubar mends its relationship with Southern Kurubar, Tsin becomes more self-sufficient, and most drastically, the current mines of Riplentique begin to dry up. Riplentique is a nation of great beauty, and its citizens are used to an elevated standard of living. As such, there are currently huge efforts to find new mines. Some discussion is being made of territorial expansion into Basin or Mendratia, however such talk is dangerous.
Mendratia:
Mendratia is distinct amongst its neighbours as being composed nearly entirely of the desert and mountainous terrain. It is land-locked, but has strong natural defenses on all but its western border. The nation itself is more accurately described as a conglomeration of tribes, each acting individually within their own territory and trading amongst themselves, but each partaking in councils to decide on matters which call for all of their opinions, such as territorial disputes or external trading agreements. The many tribes are very distinct, and as such they each receive a vote on the council. The council meets only in times when it is called upon to meet. Because of the uniqueness of their environment and their adaptation to this environment, historical attempts to conquer the Ay'ul desert have been disastrously unsuccessful. In some ancient religions, they were called the "Fremen of the Desert."
Kurubar & Southern Kurubar:
Kurubar was once a grand nation. The nation was governed by a hereditary monarchy, ruling a strip of land from north to south along the continent. However, this nation split after many years when it was realized that two distinct populations, with distinct cultures and interests, had developed. A bloody war was fought between the two groups, but it was short, as the two nations wanted to avoid territorial loss to outside interests. Centuries have passed since, and neither the northern nor the southern remnant is nearly as powerful as the nations were when united. However, trade has been renewed between the two nations, and defence efforts no longer focus so heavily on the border between south and north. A remnant of the old nation is a long system of fortresses along the western borders, somewhat well maintained over the centuries. The main industries of Kurubar are agriculture and stone masonry.
Indigosoki-Vontropanos:
This nation is the definition of a mess. Indigosoki-Vontropanos is currently suffering a horrific civil war, with countless factions vying for power. Any remnant of governance has long since been erased, and the majority of the population not engaged in the war is either dead or attempting to emigrate from the country.
Other Events Worth Noting:

-A harsh storm threatens the Islands of the Cantaraves
- The NDF is currently patrolling the coastal seas, hunting for raiders.
Merchant Navy
- The MN is currently escorting trade ships all around the world.
National Defense
- The ND has troops stationed in major cities and patrolling important roads to ensure stability in the nation.
Infrastructure Actions:
Additional roads are being built to expand the trade network on the island of Fae-Qwan.
The harbour of Saijōnan is being expanded to be able to house more ships.
Diplomatic Actions:
Negotiations are underway with the Tsin empire regarding the production and delivery of new weapons for the Tsin empire. The Island Nation of Fae-Qwan is demanding additional iron deliveries from the Tsin empire in return for the weapons.

John 3:16 ~For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life!
The Tribes of Sin'jok continue to live in relative isolation. However, two small disputes send ripples of concern through the populations. One is a small quarrel between two tribes on the western coast, as both tribes contend for the influx of fish which appear in the gulf annually. It is concerning that greed seems to influence this quarrel far more than any perceived necessity for nourishment. The second dispute is one which occurred at the border with Vatrugos. One tribe, perhaps unaware of the details regarding Vatrugos' territorial claims, entered into an altercation with a group of Vatrugi builders as they were surveying the border. Many Sin'jok tribesmen were killed, and a great fear and resentment is now growing among the border tribes.
Vatrugos:
The Vatrugi have begun what they call the "Great Culling of the Sea", an event in which thousands of ships set sail to take advantage of plentiful marine resources, and to honour a variety of oceanic deities. These ships sail far and wide, and some may come within the waters of far-off nations. Additionally, the construction of the series of temple-fortresses along the frontiers is garnering huge religious fervency, and a huge influx of workers and raw materials. It appears that the project may be completed well before schedule.
Erabas:
A kingdom unlike any other, Erabas stands for the ideals of honour, respect, and kindness. However, beneath this facade is an unconventionally oppressive government, and a tendency for masses of uncoordinated conniving politicians to undermine the good-intentions of some officials. Currently, the government of Erabas is sending an emissary to the Island Nation of Fae-Qwan, in search of the highest calibre of weapons this world has yet seen. Why these weapons are being procured is unclear, however, some wonder if they may be used to end ancient border tensions with Vatrugos, inflamed in recent times by the perceived threat which is posed by the temple-fortress line.
Utos:
The Kingdom of Utos cares little for the petty affairs of its southern neighbours, who it sees, for the most part, as barbaric and useless. It does has some connections to Erabas, through the form of vital trade deals which provide many of the kingdoms with lumber and exotic treasures to adorn castles and people. The two primary concerns of Utos, at the moment, are both more personal. Chief among this pair of problems is the lack of an heir for King Jess, who now enters what must be his final years. Despite the death of three former wives, even King Jess’ latest consort, Queen Alyé, a far younger member of one of the southern border kingdoms, has failed to procure a child from the ailing magistrate. The potential turmoil which may erupt upon King Jess’ death is worrisome for all of Utos. Meanwhile, the recent storm in the Cantaraves has caused serious damage to one of Utos’ colonies. A relief effort has been dispatched to provide resources and assistance while the colony repairs their lost home.
Maranavok:
Despite a below-average standard of living, nationalism in Maranavok remains quite high, and is set to grow in the days to come. A week of celebration has been planned, of which the chief celebrations are set to take place in the port city of Saros. Why the climax of the event would not be located in the capital is unclear, and might cause concern among Maranavok’s already anxious neighbours. Typically, Maranavok has not been a naval power, but as the world advances, so too does the necessity for new forms of supremacy. If Maranavok is set to unveil some sign of a novel naval force, then surely it plans to use it. On a different subject, the recent storm in the Cantaraves has caused some havoc amongst the colonies of Maranavok. However, aid is slow to be delivered, as the damage is not deemed significantly serious. Natives of the islands feel incensed about this disregard for their well-being, a norm within the nation which they are not fully accustomed to.
T'ing-Mat'ao:
Elections are only days distant at this point, and it has become frighteningly clear that the results will have drastic effects on the country. Whether the change will consist of an increase in military spending in a conventionally pacifistic nation, an expulsion of the terms of the alliance signed with Maranavok, or even an overhaul of the democratic system currently in use does not matter when compared to the frightening fact that no matter what occurs, the country will have been thoroughly divided into sects of strictly opposed mindsets. In the midst of this chaos, the invitation from Kyrik on the subject of an athletic tournament has been, unfortunately, declined.
Omantiosa:
War! Finally, the government of Omantiosa has declared war on the Ksintiosan Empire, citing an infringement upon their territory. It is presumed that this formal announcement will only give the Ksintiosan Empire an impetus to quicken and strengthen their invasion. A recent wave of advancement has brought the officially recognized western border of the Empire both further north and further west. While the southern government only encourages local militias to exact revenge upon their invaders, the unofficial northern government has sent a platoon of soldiers to assist in protecting the border. Additionally, the southern government, having caught wind of the eminent deal between Tsin and the Island Nation of Fae-Qwan, has sent out a pair of delegations. One is implored to plead with the Fae-Qwan government not to allow this deal to occur, citing the historic prevalence of trade deals between Omantiosa and Fae-Qwan which once allowed both nations to prosper. The other, on a more lengthy journey, is travelling to Arenthia to seek an alliance. The terms of this alliance are open for a great deal of discussion.
Tsin:
War? The population of Tsin seems interested in the idea of assuming control of the entire south-western extension extension of their landmass, and with the Tsin government’s agreement to Fae-Qwan’s terms relating to additional iron shipments, it appears that the Omantiosans have far more to fear than a single expansive empire.
Ksintiosan Empire:
The Ksintiosan Empire would not be so popular amongst its citizens if it were not for the territorial advancements being made, and for the generally positive outlook which can be rightfully held. The power of the Ksintiosan Empire is viewed by those who live within it as “indisputably superior” to all of its coevals. So, the audacity of the Kyriki to deploy ships in what has clearly been claimed as Ksintiosan waters sends shockwaves of disdain through the masses, and while ardent nationalism powers the country’s growing industries and culture from within, a mixture of diplomatic and militaristic events power the nations territorial advancements.
On the west, Omantiosa currently appears but a cookie to be bitten at will; as much or as little territory may be taken whenever the empire desires. It appears that some aspects of the military are now using the Omantiosan invasion to test new strategies or weapons. One such example is the emission of a newly-constructed fleet along the southern coast of Omantiosa, where it is set to weaken countless port-cities through the use of ballistas and trebuchets.
The eastern front is a quite different matter. The Ksintiosan Empire has extended to Tos its own offer of an alliance. This will, without a doubt, set back any decision on an alliance with Kyrik. The terms of the Ksintiosan alliance include complete military support, equivalent territorial expansion, frequent exchange, and the offer from the Empire to provide financial and manufacturing support for an independent naval force under the control of Tos.
Meanwhile, and perhaps quite significantly, the Ksintiosan Empire sends a delegation of 152 individuals to the Kyriki games. Some will participate, others will support those who do participate, and yet others have been sent to help with the administration of these games, assuming that Kyrik will accept this assistance.
Gualichos:
King Ilbik Otsensen is enraged, and deeply wounded, by the suggestion that Gualichos is suffering instability. The following was his exact response to Tin Quan, translated:
“Shut up! Shut up and consider what you say, fool! Where have you been taught manners? I have known for a long time that the Q’rin were an insolent and arrogant people! When their nation suffers turmoil, what are they to do but suggest that a rival is, in fact, suffering this turmoil? Gualichos has never been stronger, I dare to tell you! This precious ‘Silk Road’ suffers no danger on my side of the border, but perhaps some stabilization might be due on yours? Perhaps, after I have had your head hung, and after the message of fear has been sent, I shall make certain that this ‘Silk Road’ never suffers threats from Q’rin - ever again!”
Later, after fervent consultation from his advisers, the King finally clarifies his remarks, promising that he did not mean to invade Q’rin. He also orders the release of Tin Quan as an act of “Good faith” between the two nations. Concern in Gualichos about the safety of their political establishment is heightened.
Riplentique:
Trade deals with Tamlar continue to be one of Riplentique’s sources of economic nourishment. Yocces Suran is sent as an emissary to the Kyriki athletic event; he is a renowned athlete within his own country, and has earned some fame within the populations of countries with whom Riplentique has significant trade deals.
Mendratia:
Life continues as usual for the tribes of the Ay’ul Desert: harsh, but consistent.
Kurubar:
A meeting between the leaders of Kurubar and Southern Kurubar, enacted in a small Kurubarian village near Lake Karabat, may contain untold secrets of unimaginable gravity. Certainly, they probably do not pertain to the athletes sent to the Kyriki games. However, the absence of these high-ranking officials slows the discussion of trade deals with Mylanos.
Southern Kurubar:
A meeting between the leaders of Kurubar and Southern Kurubar, enacted in a small Kurubarian village near Lake Karabat, may contain untold secrets of unimaginable gravity. Certainly, they probably do not pertain to the athletes sent to the Kyriki games. Meanwhile, along the border with Indigosoki-Vontrapanos, forces gather in a manner which echoes that of Mylanos.
Indigosoki-Vontropanos:
Concern about the amassment of forces along all borders is overshadowed by increasingly horrific slaughters and massacres, as religious, political, and power-hungry groups continue to make attempts to conquer and hold land, or, more often, prevent others from holding land of any value. A huge wave of emigrants has nearly reached the border of Mylanos, where they hope to find security.
Other Events Worth Noting:
-The disease in Q’rin ravages the small village, reducing the population by 25% within a month. However, it does not spread to other localities, and the first signs of immunity begin to show themselves in some of the village’s affected individuals. Some local residents claim that this disease must be a message from Heaven, and the interpretation of this message preoccupies the interest of many residents who hope to find a way to spare themselves from the wrath of their deities.
-A stray Vatrugi ship, celebrating the “Great Culling of the Sea”, strays into the territory of Mylanos. A most likely intoxicated (by either arrogance or alcohol) crew lands at a small coastal settlement, which it proceeds to ransack, plunder, and ultimately light ablaze.
-A tribe of raiders descend from the mountains to raid a village in southern Tamlar. Some suspect that these raiders have ties to the tribes of Mendratia, while others believe that they are an independent group.
((@Darthrafael: I think that is in the right place. It's good enough for me, at least.))
-The Home Guard sends 200 soldiers to the coastal settlement to reinforce the local militia. An additional 4,000 troops are reallocated to the various coastal towns from the nearby Fort Kandor.
Second Army:
-Second Army begins its march into Indogosoki-Vontropanos, with no clear goals in mind other than seizing control of all major towns and removing the current "rulers" from power. Any refugees would be turned away, by force if necessary, but are assured that peace shall soon come to the region. Messengers are sent to Fort Baerlon warning of any potential refugees trying to enter the country.
Infrastructure Actions:
-Construction of temporary refugee camps for the people of Indogosoki-Vontropanos begins, to prepare for the inevitable influx of unwanted refugees that somehow still make it into the country, as well as for any Mylanese citizens rendered homeless by the coastal raid.
Diplomatic Actions:
-Mylanos sends diplomats to Southern Kurubar to begin negotiating how Indogosoki-Vontropanos shall be fairly divided between the two nations.
Informal Actions:
-None
Diplomatic Ties:
-None
Military Situations:
((I've got no idea if OOC brackets are necessary, but whatever. See the above post for this, hardly anything has changed. And keep in mind that only the armies currently doing things were mentioned. Mylanos has a standing army of 900,000 divided into 9 Armies of varying sizes, most of those not currently doing anything are located in Fort Baerlon and the capital. Navy's still basically nonexistent.))
Military Actions: Increasing military numbers for a possible war on the Ksintiosan Empire.
Infrastructure Actions: Military Sergeants have traveled to each of Kyrik's cities to find all able-bodied men, and women might be drafted later if a war is on the horizon.
Informal Actions: The officials for Kyirk's Grand Games have reviewed the responses from each responding nation, and have prepared according, a space for housing, and an envoy seat, marked with the nations name.
Military Situations: Navy ships are cruising the bay around the Ksintiosan Empire and the military numbers are being increased quickly due to the increasing probability of war between neighboring nations.

Border Tension with Maranavok.
Military Situations:
More troops have moved towards the border of Mavanavok.
((Skeleminer, I think you might have made a mistake with those military numbers. You listed your total population as 3.6 million in your application. Your latest post shows the military to be at 2.4 million, which is over half of the population, yet you also said that no females were included in the military as of yet. Generally, populations are nearly equally divided between male and female. I might be wrong about something in my logic, but I just thought that you might want to edit those numbers.))
Actions of the Others (simplified):
Tribes of Sin'jok:
The Injuoki (in-yu-ock-ee) are among the oldest, largest, and most respected tribes. They have seen the quarrel between the two coastal tribes, the Sobatzki to the south and the Tröonti to the north, and they are concerned. In an effort to preemptively stop a conflict, the elders of the Injuoki have gathered representatives of both tribes. They have brought them together for a meeting, where a compromise will hopefully be reached.
Vatrugos:
The first of the great frontier fortress-temples is nearing completion, only two months after its construction began. It had been predicted that the construction of these great buildings would require years, but the will-power of the populace has expedited this construction. The national pride of the Vatrugi people is at a level never before seen; it is now their belief that, as a people, they can accomplish anything to which they set their minds. However, some priests devoted to certain naval deities believe that there has been a great disrespect committed, in that the Great Culling has not earned the reverence of years past. Some zealots warn of a catastrophe in the near future, but they are ignored - the pride of the nation is too great for any concern of divine retribution.
Erabas:
The kingdom of Erabas offers one million tonnes of lumber to the Island Nation of Fae-Qwan in return for a shipment of 70,000 Iron Gladii and 100,000 bronze-plated vests. This will refurbish the majority of the standing army. Meanwhile, an emissary is sent to Vatrugos to formulate a deal with that nation as well. Erabas will provide labour to assist with the construction of the border fortress-temples in return for ¾’s of a million tonnes of lumber. Additionally, news of a sudden crop-illness is spread across the southern territories. Lords of the various realms are instructed to implement significant taxation of all farmers, and to institute the creation of “Royal Nutritional Reserves”, where excess food is to be stored in case of an emergency rationing. The populace is upset by this event, but the general sentiment is that the famine will not last long.
Utos:
As the knowledge that the kingdom is without an heir becomes more worrisome, high officials begin scrambling for the king’s favour, hoping that they, or someone in their bloodline, might be named as the successor to the throne. The King is seemingly blind to the true intentions of these appeals, but is all the same unimpressed by them. Queen Alyé, meanwhile, has become a popular presence in the court. Her connections with various members of the peerage are growing, and some wonder if she might be fit for the throne herself. However, in the midst of this political excitement, the relief to the Islands of the Cantaraves has slowed. The Lord of the Utosian Cantaraves has decided to travel to the capitol himself, so he might make a personal plea to the king. The largest storm has passed, but the season is not yet through, and smaller storms continue to batter the coastal settlements.
Maranavok:
To the surprise of some, and to the great relief of many others, Maranavok did not unveil a navy during its week of celebrations. The celebrations in Saros culminated with a sermon on the subject of an oceanic deity, delivered by a prominent religious leader. Religion has not been a prominent feature in the life of the Maranavok populace, so this was an unexpected occurrence. However, it has sparked a renewed interest in the ancient traditions, and may yet prove effective in stifling any possibility of unrest.
T'ing-Mat'ao:
Confusion abounds! Days after an election in which candidates of every stripe were elected, T’ing-Mat’ao found itself divided along geographical lines. The majority of the officials elected in the north were in favour of an increased military force, and an effort to strengthen ties with Maranavok. Southern officials, meanwhile, were also in favour of an increased military, but with the purpose of defence against Maranavok after the elimination of the treaty between the two nations. It is unclear how this contrast of opinions will be resolved.
Omantiosa:
Disaster! Ksintiosan troops, spurred forward by the official declaration of war and the expedience of their chariots, horses, and naval vessels, have now extended their influence over limbs of land extending north along the Kyriki border, and south along the coast. Defeat now seems nearly unavoidable. However, two inklings of hope remain. The official military presence organized by the northern, unofficial government has stalled the advance of Ksintiosan forces and kept them from reaching the northern sea. Unfortunately, they are ill-equipped, and will most likely be eliminated within the month. The other light which gives Omantiosa hope is the agreement by the delegation to Fae-Qwan to pay goods at a value of 10% more than whatever Tsin is willing to offer. However, they have changed one condition of their agreement: They would like to now receive all of the weapons originally intended for Tsin, while still blocking Tsin from receiving any military assistance.
Tsin:
The Tsin delegation, catching wind of the Omantiosan attempts to block their deal with Fae-Qwan, are deeply incensed, and present two points to the Fae-Qwan representatives with whom they are dealing. Firstly, Tsin is far richer than Omantiosa. It is unlikely, in the view of the Tsin government, that Omantiosa will be capable of fulfilling their payments. Secondly, Omantiosa is likely to fall to the Ksintiosans soon anyway, so they will not provide much in the future. However, Tsin is a prosperous nation - it is likely that many deals will come in the future between these two nations.
Ksintiosan Empire:
War fever has struck the nation! The number of volunteers for the nation’s military has increased tenfold within the last month. The population is eager to serve, and to earn glory on the battlefields of expansion. However, this outpouring of support has made it necessary for the Empire to reconsider its policies. A recent protest in the capitol attracted thousands of residents. The purpose of this protest? To gain for women the right to serve in the military. Despite its progressive nature, the Empire has not yet offered this privilege to half of its population. The population has been persuaded to desist from any future protests for the time being; the Emperor is considering the matter, and has promised to respond shortly. In the meantime, the men of the military have proven themselves in war, as they have easily swept through vast swaths of Omantiosan territory. The new naval force which has bombarded the coastal settlements has proven very effective, and is set to be deployed against the Omantiosan capital in the coming weeks; however, this is a secret, as the planned assault involves the element of surprise. In other military news, the Emperor has decreed that any and all coastal settlements must possess a new device which ‘he’ has invented. It is named “Yan-Sun’s Scorpion” for the powerful metal projectiles - capable of piercing a boat’s hull or an enemy’s armour - which it fires, and for the precision of its shots. The weapon is rather small, but it can strike individual targets accurately at distances of 100 meters (ships could be targeted at distances exceeding four hundred meters), and can fire three to four shots per minute while requiring only one operator. These “Scorpions” will be provided in great number to municipal militias, and will largely replace the old catapults, ballistas, and trebuchets which are already installed along the coastal ramparts. As most of the required units have already been produced, it is only a matter of transporting them to their new homes.
Meanwhile, relations with the Kyriki are frosty. While the Ksintiosans eagerly await news of their successes in the games, the Empire has found itself forced to send a diplomat to the Kyriki government with the following message:
“It saddens the Emperor and his Empire that relations with the Kyriki are at such a dismal place. It has in no way been the intent of the Empire to make the Kyriki feel threatened, and we have extended many offerings of goodwill in the past, such as our support for your recent games. The Emperor now asks for a small favour in return for the decencies he has granted in the past. It is only fitting that the Kyriki cease to patrol so aggressively the waters which are vital to the survival and unity of the Empire. The merchants of the Empire have felt threatened by the constant presence of Kyriki vessels in the Gulf of Sintos, patrolling trade routes which have been formally assigned to the Emperor’s possession. Should the Kyriki cease these war-mongering actions, the Emperor and his Empire shall rejoice in the knowledge that friendship between these two nations is possible, now and forever.
Meanwhile, the Empire awaits news from Tos.
Gualichos:
King Otsensen is still upset by the actions of Q’rin, but he decides to ignore the latest message rather than respond with the anger which he feels. In his stead, councillors engage a few platoons of soldiers to guard the Gualichi portion of the road.
With the Gualichi-Q’rin Crisis narrowly averted, a certain portion of the aristocracy begins to speak openly about their distaste for the king.
Riplentique:
Trade deals with Tamlar continue to be one of Riplentique’s sources of economic nourishment, while a renewed deal with Kurubar sparks some economic growth. Meanwhile, Riplentique grows increasingly concerned about T’ing-Mat’ao’s abandonment of luxury in favour of militarism. As turmoil grows, the demand for the goods which Riplentique can offer diminishes, and the question is asked: What stands in the future for this nation?
Mendratia:
Life continues as usual for the tribes of the Ay’ul Desert: harsh, but consistent.
Kurubar:
Unity! Kurubar and Southern Kurubar have agreed to a weakened border between the two nations, and to a strategic military alliance, wherein attacking one nation constitutes attacking the other. Meanwhile, Kurubar engages in further trade with Riplentique, and sends diplomats to Riplentique, Tamlar, and Q’rin, requesting that a conference be held between delegates from these nations and delegates from Kurubar itself, with the subject of this conference being the promotion of an effort to establish a single, official, militarily-protected trading route spanning the four territories. Meanwhile, Kurubarian officials finally engage those delegates from Mylanos who wished to discuss a trade deal.
Southern Kurubar:
Souther Kurubar appears to be the main beneficiary of the deal formulated with its northern counterpart; it is the southern nation which has the more tumultuous borders. So, in its discussion with Mylanos about splitting the territories of Indigosoki-Vontropanos, Southern Kurubar immediately makes claim to the lower two-thirds of the failing nation. A map is included below, displaying Southern Kurubar's proposition.
Indigosoki-Vontropanos:
No clear power has yet emerged from the conflicts in this nation, though one group will certainly not win: the civilians. Emigration efforts continue, now along all borders.
Other Events Worth Noting:
-A well-liked official attending the Kyriki games has been assassinated! An unidentified individual stabbed the official on a public street. As news of this death begins to ripple through the nation, some wonder if the comparatively unpopular “tyrant” who rules their nation has abused his power to eliminate a potential threat. This, coupled with the relatively recent distribution of “diplomats” to restore “order” in smaller settlements has placed an extremist minority of the population on edge.
-The efforts to re-educate the small rural villages who have begun to re-interpret holy scripture prove somewhat effective, but as the population drops to 50% of its original size, several individuals begin to lay praise upon one of those who has proven immune to the illness; some say he is “touched by heaven”. Meanwhile, one of the priests performing the re-education has fallen ill upon his return to Dunhuang.
-Omantiosa is still interested in forming a partnership with Arenthia in light of its war against the Ksintiosan Empire.
-The magistrate of the small village which recently suffered from mountain-raiders has arrived in the capital of Tamlar to plead his case with the government, and to inform them of the dangers which might lurk on the southern border.
-Second Army continues its push to secure Mylanos's claim of Indigosoki-Vontropanos. Soldiers are left behind in towns and villages to provide security, and although displaced citizens are encouraged to seek residence within the safer cities rather than flocking to refugee camps in Mylanos, the military is no longer actively suppressing such efforts.
Infrastructure Actions:
-Construction of temporary refugee camps is completed.
-Reconstruction of damaged Indigosoki-Vontropanos cities and infrastructure begins.
Diplomatic Actions:
-Mylanos agrees to Southern Kurubar's proposal without argument, hoping to begin improving relations with the nation.
Informal Actions:
-Military High Command has announced the completion of several refugee camps for displaced citizens of Indigosoki-Vontropanos. Plans for the reconstruction and annexation of Mylanos's claim have also been released. The people of Indigosoki-Vontropanos are promised that the transition shall be as peaceful as possible, and that they shall not lose any of the basic human rights.
-Donations of extra food and other amenities are being accepted for the refugee camps to supplement the government's provisions.
((Sorry for the confusion Commander, you might recall that I mentioned children (both male and female) being forced to do physical labor at a young age to prepare them for the rough life of a soldier, in case of a war threat. Women are drafted into the military, but are not yet being deployed, as the Kyrians (Not Kyriki, although I think it has a nice ring to it, that just sounds a little to tribal :/) have not declared war. So if the nation of Kyrik were to have a full scale war, the women would be called to serve in the military!))

John 3:16 ~For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life!
Military Actions: -The army has reached its peak numbers, with the grow rate almost deceased. With the strength the nation of Kyrik wields, any nation, Mylanos or Ksintiosan, should fear for their safety!
Infrastructure Actions: -None so to speak of
Diplomatic Actions: With the threat of a full-scale war with the Ksintiosan Empire looming over the horizon, the nation of Kyrik sends requests for war aid to to the nations of Mylanos, and a follow up of the treaty with Tos. The Kyrian administration catches wind of the treaty from the Ksintiosan Empire, and interprets it as a sign of ill will, and war preperations against the Kyrian empire. The Kyrians are outraged at this, and the prospect of war seems like a very plausible option.
Informal Actions: The Kyrians are shocked at the murder of the official, and have begun to accuse the Ksintiosan nation of framing Amedeus as a murderer. War preperations have begun at a household level, because the stress between the nations is a household topic, which infuriates the people.

((Ah, okay; that makes a significantly larger amount of sense than what I had understood. As for Kyrians, I'll be sure to refer to them as such in future posts. If anyone else notices me implementing a term which is at odds with what you wanted for your nation, let me know so that I can fix that, too.
EDIT: Also, seeing as it was your idea, feel free to dictate the results of the competition. I believe that the participating nations were Southern Kurubar, Kurubar, Riplentique, Tamlar, Q'rin, and the Ksintiosan Empire.))

An ambitious project has been started in Takasaoka, the creating of a large building housing several forges and smithies to increase Fae-Qwan's capacity to produce metal weapons by allowing large quantities of weapons to be created at the same time. It is unknown whether or not this ambitious project shall succeed.
Diplomatic Actions:
The nation of Fae-Qwan has listened to Omantiosa's offers and Tsin's points and have ultimately decided not too agree with Omantiosa's offer since their nation is likely to fall soon anyway.
Secret negotiations are underway with Erabas regarding weapons. Fae-Qwan has accepted Erabas' offer and the new trade deal will be a good opportunity to use the new forge complex once it is done.
Fae-Qwan has accepted Arenthia's offer regarding a treaty between the two nations
Informal Actions:
The Yelekh clan has announced a National Holiday to celebrate the Nation's treaty with Arenthia.
Some citizens however don't agree with the nation not helping Omantiosa and are protesting, hoping to convince the government to help Omantiosa protect it's independence.

Actions of the Others (simplified):
Tribes of Sin'jok:

-A harsh storm threatens the Islands of the Cantaraves

Actions of the Others (simplified):
Tribes of Sin'jok:
Mylanos
Military Actions:
First Army/Home Guard:

Mylanos
Military Actions:
Second Army:

Join us!Rest in peace, Paxit.((Sorry for the confusion Commander, you might recall that I mentioned children (both male and female) being forced to do physical labor at a young age to prepare them for the rough life of a soldier, in case of a war threat.
Kyrik
Diplomatic Ties: -Nothing not already mentioned.
Military Situations: -Same as before.
