At the sound of the bell, Dr Style hurried back out through the small door, as if he had just been waiting, waiting there for the magical ding of that bell. He grinned around. "Everyone ready?" His eyes fell on Beatrice, and his already wide smile grew another could inches. "Oh, looks like one more managed to make it! How stupendous!"
He gestured to everyone to follow. "This way, this way." Spinning on one heel, he charged right back through the door.
Elija was the closest, and found himself going through first.
As soon as he walked in, he was almost overwhelmed with the sheer amount of tech in the room. Beeps and whistles and flashing lights came from every corner, and the floor was strewn with cords. The Doctor stepped over the larger bunches, and raised a hand to his mouth. "Merady! Where are you?"
Dr. Style led them to the middle of the room, which was mostly clear, aside from a single table with a number of small devices on it. He halted there, and whirled around to make sure they had all followed. "OK!" He called out. "Who here knows what special abilities you all posses, which is why you were brought here, and," he asked another question, his eye twinkling in a "trick question" kind of way, "Why exactly those abilities are so intriguing to us?"

((I'm just going to jump to be with everyone else. Sorry for my absence! I'm finally back from the lake and on wifi.))
Andi brought up the tail-end of the group following Dr. Style, taking in the technological scenery around her. It appeared like a normal laboratory one would see on television, except for the multitude of cables strewn across the floor. "Someone should clean those up before someone gets hurt..." She muttered under her breath, before turning her attention to the doctor as he spoke. "Who here knows what special abilities you all possess," was the question that he posed to the group. In response, Andi half-heartedly raised a hand. She didn't wait to be called on before answering, "I don't know about everyone else, but I can turn into a... a nymph sort of thing."
An echoing ring filled the lobby, the sound seemed to emanate from the golden bell that Flint was right beside, his hand enclosed on it. Following the sound of the bell, a rather large and elderly man came rushing in toward the group.
"Everyone ready," he called, his smile grew wider as he laid his eyes on Beatrice, making her rather uncomfortable. The man then gestured everyone to follow, then turned around and went ahead. The group then followed him to wherever he was taking us.
The man then lead the group to a rather spacious room, filled with high-tech machinery. Small lights were flickering, different kinds of sounds were being made, and the floor was scattered with wires of different sizes. "Merady! Where are you?" the old man called, stepping over some wires and heading toward the middle of the room where a table with strange devices were. The old man then excitingly asked us what kinds of powers we had and why they were so intriguing to share.
"I don't know about everyone else, but I can turn into a...a nymph sort of thing," Andi responded. Beatrice then thought of going first, until the sudden appearance of a young woman made her jump, and quickened her heart rate.
"Were you calling me, Dr Style?" the woman most likely known as Merady, called to the man beside him. Beatrice laid her hand on her chest in surprise, trying to catch her breath, but Lenore seemed just as surprised as her. As her reaction involved accidentally falling on the floor. "Oh, I'm sorry... did I scare you?" she asked, offering a hand to help her up. Lenore accepted her help, and asked how she was able to suddenly appear in front of all of us. She then said she would let Dr Style explain.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Beatrice called toward Dr Style and Merady. "But can you tell us more about why we are here exactly and who is your rather charming assistant?"
Dr. Style smiled a little when Merady popped up out of nowhere, scaring half the people in the room. "Thank you, Merady. Here, hold this." He picked up a large box and shoved it in her direction, then turned to everyone else. "This is my new assistant, Merady. As you can see, she likes to use her artifact that she has received for mundane things like traveling from one room to another and surprising people." His smile had sort of a weary look to it.
After a moment, though, he perked back up. "No one knows? Well, why don't I tell you!" He grinned, and clapped his hands together. "You all have a semi-common ability to transform at will into another animal. Man people have this ability, and can transform into bears and snakes and birds and all matter of other creatures."
"But," he said, pressing a button on one of the desks, "There is a little known fact about every one of those people. The animal they can turn into, whether it be bird or bear, fox or hound, originally was connected to an individual, living animal near them. That is why people tend to be an animal that lives in that region. You'll never find someone who can become a polar bear living in the Amazon." He chuckled at that little joke.
"In fact, using some recent locator magic, combined with modern technology, we have been able to seek out these individual animals wherever they might be." He looked around at them again. "Now, with this new information, can any of you tell me just why we are so interesting in what you can turn into?"

Heller was hesitating for a while, but follows the group anyway. Much to his surprise, they stopped at a huge room, with all sorts of technological apparatus and machines. He noticed some wires was poking out of the floor, and stepped carefully to avoid tripping over them. What the? The heck is this?! Today is messed up, but this is even more. I never thought something like this exist in this building.. Heller thought. Dr. Style stopped at a table at the center of the room, and asked who knows about the special powers the group possesses. Heller didn't answered, not having trusted the old man yet.
All of a sudden, a woman popped out of nowhere. Heller jumped a bit, surprised by the sudden appearance. He heard Dr. Style talking, and continues to listen to him. He then asked a question, again. Heller was confused, but finally thought of an answer. Wait... One person, one animal, same region... Huh? I think I got it! he thought. He answered, without raising a hand, "Is it because none of our animal form exist on the real world or are just myths, and none of it are near any of us?"
Dr. Style grinned at the answers. "Very good!" He reached into the big box he had earlier and pulled something out. "For some reason, all of you have connected with something we didn't think existed. We want to find what it is! Luckily for us, there was a recent breakthrough in locator magic and tech that will let us find what you got your forms from!" He held the object up to the light. It was a compass, a small metal casing with a spinning needle in the center.
"Merady, can you pass those out?" He mumbled, then turned back to them. "When in your creature forms, holding this should point at the creature you got your ability from, wherever it is in the world. So if everyone could line up around the table and grab a compass, we get to try an experiment that has never before been available to us!" The doctor practically squealed with scientific glee. "Whenever you are ready, go ahead and transform when holding your compass."

Dr Style continued to explain about the ability of people such as ourselves being capable of transforming into an animal that is native to where they were born, which made the discussion more interesting. Beatrice wasn't too sure about the others, but if she was right, everyone present in the room most likely could transform into a creature that does not exist into this world. Heller was the first to answer his question.
"Is it because none of our animal form exist on the real world or are just myths, and none of it are near any of us?" He asked. Dr Style grin grew larger at Heller's response.
"Very good!", he then reached into a box that he handed to Merady earlier before continuing on about the strange phenomenon of us being linked with these mythical creatures. Dr Style then pulled out an item from the box that resembled a compass. He instructed that while we were in our creature's form, we would have to hold these compasses. When doing so, the compass would then point at the creature wherever it was in the world. The purpose of these experiments and meeting seemed to interest Beatrice even more. These discoveries could achieve a world-wide breakthrough. Not only that, it could hold possible answers of the existence of other worlds, or where the location of these fictitious creatures might be, so many things we have yet to know. This, all with the help of a few extraordinary people and their amazing abilities, it was all about to begin. Beatrice decided to go first, taking a compass from Merady and approaching the table.
She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, imagining the majestic bird in front of her. In a flash, fire shrouded around Beatrice, and all that was left was a glistening red bird with scarlet feathers, glowing eyes, and a golden beak. It took a moment for Beatrice to adapt to the bird's anatomy, and almost collapsed while doing so. But she was able to hold herself up in the air, and beat her wings slowly to land atop the table. In one of her talons, was the compass facing her.
Elija was rather fascinated by all the stuff Dr. Style was going on about. What did it mean, if their compasses pointed to somewhere? Did those animals really exist? But what if it didn't do anything? What if it exploded?
He'd have to tell his sister all about this later.
Taking a compass, he drew a deep breath. He envisioned his dragon, without wings or horns, but a long, sleek body. Immediately, he felt the creature burst out, and he slithered out into the room, filling up considerably more room than he had a moment ago, coils of scales covering wires and wrapping around the table. A little self conscious about his size, he curled up as best as he could, shoving most of his tail underneath the table.
A flash of red light surprised him, as one of the girls- that one with the British sounding accent- vanished, and was replaced by a flaming, majestic bird. He couldn't help but wonder how far the mythical phoenix powers went for her.
Turning himself back to the compass, he looked at it expectantly... and it was pointing to his right! He could feel his eyes grow wide, and he glanced off in that direction, which of course was only a wall. But maybe it was out there, somewhere?
But glancing down at the compass again... he saw that the needle had shifted. He shook it, and the needle spun lazily around, not pointing at anything in particular. It didn't have a direction, it just happened to look like it had.
Elija felt a rush of disappointment, along with a little relief. It was too bad that there didn't seem to be any of these giant, snaky creatures out there, but maybe that was a good thing...
((About to get intense! This next part will be fun ))

Heller was satisfied that he answered correctly, and grinned a bit. He thought what Dr. Style is talking about was ridiculous, since dragons doesn't exist. At least he think so. Heller was curious about maybe discovering the whereabouts of a living dragon, and then took a compass. Heller saw the girl that speaks with British accent transforms into a bird enveloped in flames, a phoenix. And then a boy, Elija if he wasn't mistaken, transformed into what Heller thought to be a giant serpent.
He clutched his fist, and closed his eyes. And then, with all his might, he punched his other hand's palm. As soon as he punched, scales begins to grow on his hand, and then his arm, and then the scales covers his whole body, except for the facial part. Several spikes grew from his fists. He then walked towards the table, shaking the floor with every step. He stares at the compass with disappointment, as the arrow continues spin at totally random direction. He then puts the compass at the table, and lets out a disappointment roar.
((Was gonna wait for the other two, but they are taking too long. Moooving on.))
Dr. Style eagerly peered over the shoulders and tails of the monsters that now filled the room, trying to get a good look at the compasses. His face fell visibly when none of them appeared to be pointing in any specific direction. The experiment was a failure, with no distinct results.
He sighed. "Ah well, I suppose it was a long shot anyway. There wasn't much chance that your abilities really had to do with a mythical creature living nearby anyway. Its much more likely that your powers have to do with something else completely." He gazed around at them all. "Still, I'm glad we eliminated one possibility. We still have many tests we can do!" He glanced longingly at the compasses. "Still, maybe you could hold on to those for a few more minutes. Maybe it'll work eventually."
Suddenly a thought came to his head. "Oh! Maybe that girl who is sleeping in the lobby might be able to make it work! She could be tired from using her powers often, or something." He turned and rushed through the door.
------
The doctor hurried out of the room before Elija could tell him that, one, he seemed rather desperate, and two, that was his sister, who was simply tired from waking up too early. He probably wouldn't have spoken up anyway.
He sighed, and looked down at the compass in his claws again. Tentatively, he shook it, and the needle swung around randomly again.
Suddenly, the needle zipped around, and fixed itself on a specific point, quivering. Elija felt his eyes grow wide, and he glanced up at the others to see if they were seeing the same things.
And it was that moment when the massive, blue, swirling vortex opened in the floor beneath them, and swallowed everyone in the room whole.
---------
They found themselves flung out the other end into the clearing of a rather dense jungle.
((Here's where it really starts! The cutoff is now!))
