A revival of hrsidkpi's medieval nation building game. Full credit to hrsidkpi for everything, but specifically the original OP (This is an only slightly edited version) maps and country names.
Introduction:
Hello, and welcome to Dekpia, the realistic medieval roleplaying game! This will be diplomacy based roleplaying, meaning players take control of a nation and work to keep it sustainable. (Can be a kingdom, tribe parties, whatever).
In this game you can make any decisions you want, but everything goes through a mod's approval (read the rules for more info). That means you can attack other players and destroy them, but mods will not allow you to ruin someone else's game completely. They will also through you curve balls if your nation is becoming too successful, but know that everything is in the name of fun for all.
While this post will make assumptions about how you choose to roleplay your country (For example, that you have a general leading your army) you might want to write something in your own way and that’s totally encouraged, so long as a mod approves it.
As has been previously stated, this is a realistic roleplay. There is no magic. There is (at this time) no gunpowder. There are naval vessels, but no steam engines.
Currently, we are awaiting between 1-3 further applications.
Rules:
Don’t argue with mods- The mods are myself (Commandosaur), Meritania, and Qwantyrioem. So listen to us. Pay close attention to what the mod for your island says. (Islands are being sorted out soon, but at the moment it looks like Qwanty's in charge of the Western Isle, I'm guessing Meritania will take the south and that leaves me with the north. SUBJECT TO CHANGE.)
Be plausible- There is no definition to plausible, so there is no punishment for being implausible. However some actions will not be accepted by the mods (For example, you can't have nuclear bombers in the medieval setting of the game. Or magical blueberries.)
Respect everyone- If you don't already know what this means and you don't already strive to do so in your life, we don't want you on this roleplay.
Write OOC posts in double parentheses, like so: ((Hello friendly citizens of earth.))
Prove you're a writer- This game is more fun if replies are long, so please don’t mince words. Always put some work into writing down your actions, and especially your sign up info.
Message format:
The following format is the comment format. If you are posting an action, you must follow it. If your comment is OOC, don't worry about this.
Faction name- The name of your faction (should always be the same unless you change it).
Turn number- This is just to make sure you did not miss a turn.
Refer to- You can refer to previous comments, either listing Faction Name and Turn Number or just inputting a quote. This is just to give context to your actions.
Major actions- (Subjective) Anything that will potentially change the state of your nation. This especially includes military action, things such as elections, and diplomatic changes, e.g. Forming alliances. USE LIST FORMAT.
Minor actions- (Subjective) Other actions, that may lead to larger changes. This includes minor laws, minor diplomatic actions, and things such as construction or taxation.
Turns:
Turns will change approximately every 48 hours, as signified by a new post from moderators. These posts will be marked with the # of the turn, and actions for all non-player factions under their control, as well as natural events (Weather, disease, migration, extinction) and responses to any actions of players that need attention. These are important for concluding battles and other stuff.
Maps:
Currently we won't be updating the maps that were created by hrsidkpi on any regular basis. When major territory acquisition occurs, we'll input that. And eventually you'll see major cities appearing on the maps, too.
The types of maps are:
Political- Borders and major cities.
Topographic- Terrain of the various islands. Subject to change.
There is currently a war being waged between Macsor and Radia/Indora, each group having their supporters.
The Worldwide Alliance supports Macsor. It also consists of Pling (A country that has only just gained stability), Singone, Austroch, and Log Jess.
The New Order Factions support Indora and Radia. They also include Molque, with non-military support from Camern and Sauten Erba.
Meanwhile, Gabortia and Zaine continue their war, which has lasted for countless generations. Brazto has constructed a wall surrounding their entire country. Changone's king suffers assassination attempts, and Margone remains strangely silent.
Application:
Faction: Please choose the faction you want to take control of. Observe the political map, and any actions already taken by your country (Actions performed by moderators).
Form of Government: Please choose the form of government you want your faction to have. This can be anything, but you have to be very detailed about it (At least 4 paragraphs if it's not a usual form like a democracy, monarchy or dictatorship).
Major Cities: Self explanatory.
Extra Details: Self explanatory.
Factions:
Feel free to change the names, but if you're doing so after your application, give an in-story reason.

Sauten Erba- Commandosaur
Faction: Sauten Erba
Form of Government: Sauten Erba was long ago ruled by one man named Uru Tolk. He had united many different tribes in the area to form the powerful Sauten Erban nation, one of the first in the immediate area. He created a land of prosperity, and when he died he was replaced by a young man who had been trained his entire life to take the original Uru Tolk's place. I say the original because this man was also named Uru Tolk, as would be his successor. Despite the success of the Tolk governments, several tribes felt that his leadership had caused the populace to sway from the great Deities. This once proud and admired nation collapsed into civil war. However, once Uru Tolk was killed, those who had not opposed him lost inspiration and did nothing to stop the Tribal Jihad. These lazy citizens assumed, incorrectly, that life under the leaders of the Tribal Jihad would be very similar to life under Uru Tolk's influence. Once the Tribal Jihad had captured ever last city and quelled resistance, they formed tight laws and restriction, and then gave most of the country's wealth to the religious leaders. These leaders were completely unwilling to support change, and even less willing to be replaced. This left the country with an ageing, unchanging government. When the religious leaders died, the country was once again left in turmoil. This time, however, the country found itself filled with a population that knew how bad governance affected them, and was willing to unite and develop one long-lasting and equitable form of government. They looked at their own pre-Tolk history, and at the governmental methods of the nations that surrounded them; Finally, they founded a democracy.
Cities: The Sauten Erban capital is Tolcan (TOLE-can), named in honour of Uru Tolk, who united their tribes and is credited as the most important hero in Sauten Erban history. Tolcan is located just below the "en" on the political map. There is also a secondary-capital located in the middle of the northern section, named Arrakeen (ARE-a-keen), after a tribal deity named Arrak. On the farthest south part of the coast line, there is another large city named Pokriantiss (poke-REE-aunt-iss). The ruins of Orutan (ORE-oo-tawn) are located very close to where modern-day Tolcan is. Finally, the former leadership of the Tribal Jihad inhabited a swath of land that lies almost equidistantly between Tolcan and Pokriantiss, where there are now a belt of medium-sized cities. This swath of land is called the City of Ghali, named after one of the most powerful deities in Tribal Religion. Ghali was actually a deity formed by combining the deities of many different tribal religions, an act performed by Uru Tolk, which makes it ironic that his leadership was toppled in the name of said god.
More Info: The population is still recovering from the Tribal Jihad, which is now recognized as a dark age of brutality and inequity. However, it is also agreed that the dictatorship of Uru Tolk was not perfect, because despite Tolk had the country's best interests at heart, his reclusive form of government gave some people the impression that they were being ignored. With the new democracy, the citizens can finally represent themselves.
The Tolk Dynasty had three ages: The Age of 1st Tolk, wherein the first Uru Tolk took the leadership of the tribes and developed recognized borders for the country. The Age of 2nd Tolk brought about major technological reform and major urban development, which united the tribes both in culture and allegiance. The Age of 3rd Tolk was not as successful as the first two ages, because by this time the Grand Plan of Uru Tolk had either been completed, lost or forgotten. The third Uru Tolk encouraged many major civil and social reforms, which caused some upset among the population. This erupted into the Tribal Jihad, which quickly crushed much of the population. The third Tolk disappeared, presumed dead or having fled in cowardice, and the fourth Tolk was forced to take over at the age of 15. This Tolk managed to inspire some citizens into taking a stand against the Tribal Jihad, but it was too little too late. The Tolk Dynasty was tarnished, and the Tribal Jihad sparkled more each day. The capital of Orutan was captured and destroyed by the Tribal Jihad, with the fourth Tolk imprisoned. The fourth Tolk was then paraded in shame at the front of the Tribal Jihad as it swept through town after town, until eventually he was sacrificed to a god by some overzealous soldiers. The incident was quickly covered up and the Tribal Jihad took over, ruling for around the same amount of time as the Age of 2nd Tolk.
Much of Sauten Erba is covered in thick forest, akin to jungle. There are also some grasslands, and a few areas have mountains.
The majority of the Tribal Jihad came from the south, as the north was less developed. However, Arrakeen has become a major political hub, especially as a meeting place for representatives of the surrounding nations.

Faction: The Ancestries of Logjess
Form of government: The theocracy of Logjess is based on multiple fronts. First off, each war and each business often associated with the government is always seen as holy and the commonwealth are often expected to realize that everything official has been sanctioned by the great ancestors of the country. The theocracy is very thorough with their brainwashing of officials in order to enforce "purity" within the government's ranks, thus disallowing multiple sources of corruption to take hold.
Capital City: A map will be put in here but for now it's basically just above the space between the first "s" and the "e". It is named "Mula Sa" as it means "from here" in the indigenous language.
More Info: The theocracy's origin was based on the very first peoples settling in Logjess who had different views from the countries they once inhabited. Once arriving into the area, however, they came into contact with the indigenous tribes that had lived before them where they had latched onto one of the pagan beliefs. Ancestor worship, or more commonly known as filial piety. The original founders decided to adopt this and begun to assimilate the indigenous peoples and their customs into their society.
Once assimilating the indigenous peoples, they were shown the works of agriculture which did not exactly was able to take root well. Many of the descendants of the indigenous peoples still followed the hunter-gathering ways of their ancestors which was allowed. However, after many generations of intermarrying, agrilcultural skills was also implanted into the descendants as well as the skills of the land.
The founders of the theocracy of Logjess started by claiming that they were the apex of all of the ancestors from the indigenous peoples and they had the right to rule. Although this is not true, despite what the government officials want you to think, they were able to use the master of rhetoric and language in order to secure their spot.
Since then the people of Logjess have created a largely self-sufficient community, albeit small populations and one of the youngest out of all of the lands. Despite their small populations however, countless generations of hunting-and-gathering have been instilled in them allowing great manufacturing of products and soldiers (the soldiers specialize in spear combat and archery).
Agriculture is still fairly new to the land so not many farmlands are available so the diet mostly consists of seafood fished in from the coasts and meat in the inlands. Many forests dot the land along with many open-field grasslands. Most settlements are populated by tents for the poor, cottages for the commonwealth, and all of the wealthy has been absorbed by the government residing in small stone architecture.
No slaves or standardized currency is currently being used by Logjess as word of mouth is highly prized within society. The current social structure is extremely fluid as it is clan-based thus it is possible for either gender to rise to power but can also lose their hereditary power through means of disowning or bad deeds. Many effects can last for multiple generations, this clan-based social structure and word of mouth is yet another reason why the theocracy has been able to survive.

Indora- Meritania
Faction: Emirate of Indora
Form of government: Feudal Islamic Realm
Capital city: Butari - The city of Silk, is a stark different to the rest of the country. It is a trade hub of rich merchants and even richer landlords (Wali). The Emir's Qsar (castle) stands aloft, rising above the minarets of the many mosques in the city. It's an ancient city renowned for it's Grand Bazaar, its huge stone walls and its merchant's wharf.
More info: Indora is predominately a desert nation, with a more semi-shrubland to the East which is where the majority of the population live. The majority of the population are grain farmers and fisherman and live in small settlements along the coast. The lucky ones work in fruit and silk harvests.
As a feudal state, the army is lead by the Wali that can call levies over their lands, the Emir can call on these levies to war. Taxes are collected in a similar method.

Thanks for considering joining Dekpia, and bare with us as we transition into this new thread and management.
((As I still hadn't posted my first turn/3th turn update I'll put it here.))
A cabinet meeting is held in the National Assembly (the old royal palace) to discus the war against the New Order Of Factions:
“And, general?” Nathan asked “Will Camern join in the war?”
“Unknown, your excellency.” general Hamers answered “But if they do we should have the upperhand, as Logjess looks anxious to strike at them however, I suggest to only act defensively as a victory might upset the balance of power and...”
“we might end up in an another coalition war. I know you already said that enough.” Nathan interrupted him “But now let us first discus the south...”
After a day of discussions and a few chairfights between the army andthe navy, it was eventually decided that except if those 'senilereactionaries' in Camern would join the war against them, Autroschwould not mobilise more troops for the Alliance but only send warmaterial to allies for loans and if possible blockade Indora.
They also laid a few new ship hulls to replace future losses, theywere paid with money that was actually supposed to go to the sixth3-year plan (which will now only be about repairing old infrastructure).
Faction Name: The Commoner's Republic of Autrosch
Turn Number: 3
Formal Actions: Start construction of new ships, reconstruction of the road network
Diplomacy: an offer of lend-lease of material in exchange for loans is send to Mascor and Logjess.
Also Mascor has been given limited military control of the Republican Navy.
Form of Government: Singsone is a monarchy. It used to be ruled by a pope name Ethesiel. This pope turned out to be corrupted in his ways however, so the citizens rose up to dethrone him. The leader of the rebellion, Jonas the Great, drove Ethesiel out of Singsone for good(?) and established himself as monarch. Unfortunately, one of the cardinals assassinated Jonas. The guards cornered him, but he fell on his own blade to avoid capture. So strong was the bond between him and the Pope. The newest king, Jonas's son, ethansito has taken Singsone for its name and kept a strict doctrine of peace since the beginning of his rule. He is currently working on researching new technology and making his kingdom the trading hub of the world.
Major Cities: The capitol city is Melodia. It sits in the center of the country and is the residence of ethansito. Harmonia and Musica are also major cities. Harmonia being on the Southern coast and Musica being on the Northern coast.
Extra Details: As Singsone is a kingdom of peace, it will not partake in wars, (unless there is a change in doctrine or is being attacked) and it offers refuge and trade to all countries even if it angers the others in the alliance.
I can see why you think that Sauten Erba is Islamic/ local pagan. Sauten Erba reminds me of Saudi Arabia.
I think that one of the reasons why Indora and Radia, and Mascor are at war is because Mecca is in Mascor. Seeing as how Indora is an Islamic state, and Radia consists of Islamic leaning Iqta'dars, they would want Mecca to be part of their country. That means, if they win, there may be conflict over Mecca between Indora and Radia.

((Would this suffice as the events for the western island? And is there something you suggest to be changed, like say the combat system?))
Events for the western continent (turn4):
After running out enough of soldiers to continue their current offensive Gabortia was relucantly forced to offer their adversary a ceasefire, the leadership of Zaine accepted, despite the protest of their more hawkish generals, in bordering countries folks already started betting on how long it will last till they cause a 'border incident'.
The king of Camern impulsively joins the New Order and launches a surprise with an army of 1,500 men, mostly infantry but with a sizeable amount of knight and longbowmen. And manages to attack the 1,000 man border guard piecemeal. They dash out a whopping 900 (5(dicethrow)+2(surprise)+2(quality and quantity)) casualties, however the defenders faught very fierce and refused to surrender taking down 700 (5(dicethrow)+1(defending)+1(superior knowledge of terrain)) Camernicans with them.
Recently the government of Brazto became slightly less isolationist, and allowed native merchants to trade with neighbouring countries (though it is still discouraged with heavy taxes). An envoy of a trade caravan reaches the border of Logjess asking permission to enter the country.
I know it's a little too much for a good, and a simple game. But getting all of the men die-hard until an entire army has 0 soldier remain isn't looking too good.
((I think that the morale system should be like in warhammmer. Each "unit" of 100 soldiers has a base moral score depending on their experience. The minimum score is 2 and the maximum is 11. When something happens to a unit that may cause it to lose moral, a penalty is added to the base score, and a moral check is required. The player then rolls 2d6 and adds the value of the dice together. If they get equal to or below the modified moral score, the moral check is passed, if they roll higher, then the morale check is failed.))

Faction name: the commoner's republic of Autrosch
Turn number: 4
Mayor actions: Calling up reservists (+600 new soldiers at the capital), general Hamers marches with the second army (500 soldiers) to the north to reinforce the few remaining soldiers who haven't died or deserted.
Minor actions: Reconstruction of bridges.
A speech made by prefect Patrick Paris in a rural village in order to bolster recruitment:
“As you probably already know, the forces of reaction have struck back, like a cornered viper as they couldn't bear the light of the revolution, the beacon of hope and enlightenment. (some further blah blah) However the sun still shines past the clouds, the ancestries of Logjess and their solidarity inspiring religion has joined us in the struggle against this conspiracy of the international aristocracy. Whilst victory is already virtually assured, but the more soldiers we have the sooner we can reliberate our northern brothers.” (mumbles from the audience) “Like if we care about them” “But if they don't get stopped there they will still end up going down here first” “Meh, we have already more than enough freedom.” “But they will plunder like, well, a victorious army and steal all your beer!” “NO, not our beer.”
And immediately a large number of volunteers signed up.
(It is a sunny afternoon in Onoare, outside there is an agreeable temperature. Yet Nathan Bosmans was working inside, he took a sip of tea with beer, and started to work on his diplomatic correspondence with Sauten Erba: “The circumstances and your behaviour leaves us no choice, not only do you openly support our revolution's enemies, but there also hasn't been posted in 11 days. FINAL ULTIMATUM: If nobody else will have posted by Monday the fifteenth, I will assume this thread is dead for real and act like it, kind regards, the chairman for life of the Austrochian commoner's republic” (Aah, disguising an OOC post as an IC post, a briljant copied idea. (right?)))[/p]

((I'm terribly sorry for my lack of activity - Every time I come to the site, I come with the mindset of "You have to go finish your post for Dekpia"... And then I don't. As such, it simply isn't fair for me to continue to be here without realistic intentions to post. For that reason I'll have to resign from the roleplay - I don't have the level of devotion to this which I once did, and I don't have the level of devotion to this that I think it deserves.))
((If you need more countries, I could, possibly, return to keep Sauten Erba. But there's no way I can run the northern island - that's simply too much pressure for me right now, as it entails significant planning, coordination, etc.))
((Sorry again, and good luck with the remainder of the roleplay.))

Would you consider joining as one of the factions? You wouldn't have to worry about all the work, but you could still enjoy the fun of the game.
I have actually thought of it as well
I think yes, I'll join. I want to see this idea growing!
Maybe i'll join as mascor, so we can have the two main powers in the war be player cntrolled?
Also, are you two only moderating or also playing? And do we even have enough players? It seems like most of the community has left....
Anyways, ill post my application tommorow hopefully.
Good day!

((Glad to have you!))
((And I think that we would like to participate as countries as well, assuming it works to do so.))
((And no, I don't think we have enough players.))
Faction: Singsone
((Are we waiting for more people?))
((Would this suffice as the events for the western island? And is there something you suggest to be changed, like say the combat system?))
((Well explanatory, but how about morale system?
I know it's a little too much for a good, and a simple game. But getting all of the men die-hard until an entire army has 0 soldier remain isn't looking too good.
Just a thought for my mind.))
Well, I have finished shuffling my papers around.
Faction name- Singsone
Turn number- 3
Refer to- Singsone's history
Minor action- Ethansito asks the leader of Mascor if he can send best diplomat, Jonas Domishnikov to Mascor to try to find a peaceful solution to the war between Mascor and Radia and Indora.
((Normally I'd have posted earlier but I was a bit sick. Though it seems I ended replying first anyway))
