Former Important Relationships: Alec Gilios, twin brother, Iona Gilios, mother, Irvin Gilios, father
Year Abducted: 2015
Interests: Spiders, flies, beetles, any bugs
Fears: Cryophobia, a fear of frost/cold, Sciophobia, a fear of shadows, potamophobia, a fear of running water.
Personality: Ailsa is very observant and curious most of the time, able to be good friends with people but always looking for new things to try.
Appearance: Shoulder length blond hair, piercing azure blue eyes. Wears casual and practical attire.
Biography: Ailsa was born in 2000 along with her twin brother Alec. They were very close until they were about 5, when they started to fight more and more. Eventually, they became very close again around the age 12. Ailsa has never had too many friends outside of school because her parents always kept her inside, afraid of her being exposed to the horrors of the outside world or catching a disease. Ailsa was abducted in 2015 and got severe Amnesia, remembering nothing but her name, basic skills, and twin brother Alec. The only reason she remembered Alec was because of how close she was to him at the time of her abduction.
Amnesia: About 89% Amnesia.
((She seems like the type of person who would have some notable friends. Could you please add them, or if she lacks friends, then could you at least add an explanation for her solitude? After that, you'll probably be accepted, so I'll say "Welcome!" now!))
Jesse looks around, eyes narrowed. Again something was off.
He walked to the bar and ordered a whisky, paying with the coins he had and renting out a room. He sat alone and drank for a while, thinking...
Eventually, a man came up and sat beside him. He was endomorphic, mid-sized, and respectable, with short-cut hair. His shirt was white, but most of it was covered with a black suit-jacket. He also wore black dress pants. He did not look like the usual rugged, athletic, "barbaric" "Cowboys" of the wild west. This did not mean that he stood out like a rose in a rock garden, but his presence was still noted. He sat for a while, not saying anything, almost as if he was forcing Jesse to say something.

Name: Jahira Rivera-Linares
Gender: F
Age: 26.5, but still acts like a teenager.
Former residence: She traveled frequently, but her home was located in Orlando, FL.
Former occupation: zoologist, conservationist, she was also an artist who sold sketches and paintings of wildlife online
Former Important relationships: Most important relationships were with animals she worked with, one that was really important was with an eastern cougar, who went by the name "Charles", after Charles Darwin. She had raised him from a cub for 2.5 years while partaking in a conservation effort to bring up it's numbers, and eventually released him into the wild. (The sub-species was declared extinct in 2011 anyway.)
Year abducted: 2012
Interests: animals, reading, sketching, the color turquoise.
Fears: The dark, death of any kind, heights, and clowns *shudders*. Most can be overcome temporarily with a friend's aid... except for clowns...
Personality: Sometimes a smart-a**. She is more friendly around animals than with humans, though she cannot remember why. She has the capability of being nice to human friends. She is interested in reading (almost) anything.
Appearance: She has long, brown hair. Her eyes are green. She's a little bit shorter than the "average" height.
Amnesia: Because of heavy interaction with animals, she can remember their common names (ex: elephant, cat, bear.) She can still sketch surprisingly well. She remembers the English language and how to read, and she also remembers basic things like breathing, drinking, etc. (though sometimes she'll have trouble with chewing before swallowing for some reason...) She does not remember her past, but vaguely remembers the animals she worked with.
Bio: Before abduction, Jahira was part of multiple conservation and reintroduction efforts. On her "expeditions" she would sketch wildlife she saw, and once she returned, she would sell them online to help fund her efforts. She was especially fond of Charles, her most recent effort to conserve the eastern cougar subspecies. Her sketches of him in particular sold for quite some amount of money. A year after her release of Charles though, the sub-species was declared extinct, as he and other eastern cougars suddenly "disappeared" altogether. Although she slipped into a small state of sadness for about a week after hearing this news, life goes on, so she continued to do her work. She is (or was, I don't know if my character is starting before or after the abduction yet) working on the island of Java to try to restore the javan rhinoceros population.
Skills: She is a fast reader and writer. She can recognize animals by their common/vague names, and, if possible, can appease them if angry (ex: rampaging elephant? Give it branches, calm it down, BOOM! No more rampaging elephant. Rampaging pride of lions? You got me there. You're on your own, kid.)

It was spectacular. "Amazing..." Jahira whispered as she took out her notebook from her back pocket. The rhinoceros was close, only a few feet away from the ledge, where Jahira was observing it. She could tell the animal as male. "Buddy, you could very well be the last of you're kind..." She started to sketch the outline of the animal. She had Just about finished the details of the head when the leader of their expedition called out. "Jahira! Where are you?!" Jahira turned around and scowled. She turned her attention back to the animal, but it was gone. The rustling of foliage gave away it's path. *sighs* She put the notebook back in her pocket, and headed back to the camp. "We need to remain in camp so we can be safe. We don't want anything to happen so we may search for the rhinos tomorrow without trouble." "Well you just let our 1-in-a-million rhino just walk away." "What?" "What did you think I was doing? Besides, It's not like I don't know what NOT to touch."Jahia made her way toward her suspended tent, further ignoring the "leader". She crawled into her sleeping bag and blankets. I suppose it's not entirely his fault he's ignorant... Most humans are... She took out her wallet, and unfolded a row of photos. "I miss you guys." She stared at the various pictures of animals she had worked with along with their names written aside. A young african elephant who had been caught in a trap and had been nursed back to health, "Martha", an amazon river dolphin who had proven that the species was smarter than previously thought by helping the local fisherman catch fish in nets, "Clyde". She reached the last few pictures. "Charles, age 2 weeks". The cub was tiny and defenseless, hardly an apex predator at the time. "Charles, age 1 year". The cougar was staring at a television screen as a documentary depicted various big cats. He seemed to be suspiciously eyeing the mountain lion. Jahira laughed. "Charles, age 2 and 1/2". The cougar was fully grown. Jahira sat next to him, with her arm around his shoulder. They had the same look in their eyes. A tear fell down her cheek. A newspaper clipping fell out of the roll. She didn't bother to pick it up. She knew what it said. "Cougar species presumed extinct," "Conservation efforts had been done in vain," "Species doomed from the start." She put the wallet back in her pocket, and left the tent. She sat down on the ledge where she was, and looked to the sky...
((That was a great post! Hopefully you don't mind mine...))
...Days later, she awoke with few memories of her previous life. Wherever she was... It was dark. There seemed to be a humid, sweet scent in the air. And dripping water...
Something howled in the night. Howling Monkey, thought Jahira, shocked by her own brain. What was a Howling Monkey? Slowly, things were coming back to her... A cat... A rhinoceros... A stupid, four limbed, gangly, bipedal creature... Everything that fell into her mind gave her countless more questions than answers. Slowly, vision was coming to her. The rainforest was dark, too dark. Rainforest?
There were trees. She could feel a small insect on her foot. Or was it something else... A snake? A spider? Death, she pushed aside the thought. Death, she protested, fighting against the growing fear. She tried to distract her brain, looking down to see what was on her foot. Nothing. Dark. She shivered, not from the cold but from fear. Where was she? What was going on? She hugged herself to stop the shivers, her hands contacting bare, cold skin. Her blood was running coldly through her veins.
Here she was, naked, alone and afraid, in a dark, strange forest, with no recollection of anything. She was in a strange new world.
Awoo! came a screech. Something else was out there.

"Javan Hawk-Eagle". It flashed in her mind. What the heck is that even? She ran as fast as she could, which was not very fast, due to the jungle terrain and foliage. She heard a noisy flapping of wings behind her, and instinctively ducked (though tripped was more like it). A "THWACK!" could be heard, along with the ruffling of feathers and the screeching of the creature. It's claws must've hit a tree and gotten stuck. Jahira fled in the direction she came. She trudged through the dark forest. It's a miracle I didn't hit a tree or something. She was right It was pitch black. She had not been able to see. For all she knew, she could've fallen off a cliff and died. One of the reasons she fears the dark. Jahira kept shivering as she slowly made her way through the forest. She came across a fallen creature. From the dim light of passing fireflies, she could tell that it had four legs, a long muzzle, big ears, and a brown coat. It took a while, but her mind suddenly filled. "Javan Rusa, plant-eater." She could tell it was more afraid of her than she must've been of it. The Rusa was injured. She could easily kill it and eat it now. Instead, she took some palm leaves. Feeling along one of the animal's legs, she could feel a deep wound. She could not tell what inflicted it, but it must've been very aggressive. Jahira wrapped the leaves around the wounded area. As soon as she tied the last one in place, the animal quickly stood, which scared Jahira for a second. The Rusa then took off. Well then... She walked aimlessly again for about half an hour, but she began to get tired. *sigh* "I'm not going to be able to find anything comfortable." She finds piles of leaves and grasses and mats them under a small ledge, creating a bed of sorts. It was cold, hard, and just plain uncomfortable. She tried to sleep but couldn't. after a couple of minutes, she almost decided to give up until she felt another warmth. Warmth, and then soft fur. The Rusa had returned. "You must've been following me the whole time..." She mumbled. "... Buck... Your... *yawn*... new name..." She didn't know if this was an unnatural occurrence or not, but frankly, she didn't care. Jahira drifted off into sleep...

...Her night passed uneventfully. But when she awoke, the darkness remained in the forest. It crept into every nook and cranny, it enveloped every organism. Buck was still beside her, presumably asleep. She could not make out his features in the darkness. It appeared darker than before... And where were the trees? She adjusted herself to gain more comfort on the cold, damp rocks. Rocks? She looked down, grasping across the floor. She was on a rock floor now. She could still hear the creatures outside of her cavern, out in the darkest night, and she could still smell the jungle, but here she was, on rock. If she had felt to her sides, she would have discovered there was rock there as well, and above her, also rock. Perhaps she would find a stalagmite, or a stalactite, if she searched far enough. Jahira could not see the exit to the cave, be it for the darkness, or be it that the exit was not in her line of sight.

What the heck? Jahira started to shiver once more, from fear and cold alike. Reaching a little ways to the side, she could feel a rocky wall. As she moved, her new-found friend awoke. Jahira grew more frightened. I'm lost in a cave, and I can't see the way out. Perfect. Just perfect. She carefully stood up, trying not to fall on the slippery cave floor. Buck caught her as she slipped. "Thank you." Jahira decided it would be best to follow the cave wall, if she was going the wrong way, she could just turn around. Putting her arm around Buck's neck, she ran her hand along the wall, following it forwards. Please be the right way...

Her hand brushed against something soft and fluffy. There was a rustling of feathers, and then a small creature took flight, smacking into Jahira's shoulder. Though she could not see it, she could sense it was flitting around her. Almost like it was inspecting her, judging her. Here was an animal, doing to her what she did to them.
Meanwhile, the sounds of the rainforest were neither growing louder or quieter. And yet... A rock glinted... What could cause the glint of a rock, except for light? The glint disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. But there was still some of the glint visible... As if something was now blocking the glint.

Jahira paid no heed to the fluttering creature. It did not seem to want to do her any harm. What was more troubling to her was the shadow blocking the glint of light. Jahira held her breath, and kept Buck close. Hopefully they were hidden by the darkness of the cavern. She kept still as the creature fluttered around her. She though that, if they kept perfectly still, the shadow may leave, thinking that just another gust of wind could've disturbed the fluttering animal. For now, she kept still and held buck closer, trying to keep the shadow from noticing and coming nearer...

A low, rumbling sound emanated through the cave. Slowly, the shadow disappeared, but the glint did not return. Whatever had given the rock its shine was now gone. Something else was there, hidden in the darkness. The sound from before resonated again. It was a low humming, that crescendoed and then descended again. But it was a frightening hum.

Jahira started to shiver more and more as fear started to take over. Buck's head shifted slowly. His ears perked up, and his eyes widened, allowing in more light, if there was even any. His head seemed to be following something. Jahira could feel his movement, and as he moved, her mind instinctivly started racing. She started to think. How could I not have seen this before? Large eyes and ears, for sensing in the dark. I even found Buck awake, in the dark. She was quickly forming a plan. I hope this works.Jahira lept onto Buck. *whispers*"I'm sorry..." She hits the rusa, sending him forward, like a horse with night vision. Please work please work please work please work please work...

She hits the rusa, sending him forward, like a horse with night vision. Please work please work please work please work please work...
The Rusa rushed forward with a grunt, forcing Jahira to fall forward onto the Rusa, her head now bouncing against Buck's warm, welcoming fur with each pounding step that the animal took. Out of the darkness, something snarled, and pounced forward. Jahira could feel sharp claws scratch her arm, and then they were gone, as Buck galloped her to safety. Something pounded into the floor behind her, and ahead of her, she could feel the jungle, getting closer, and closer, and closer... And then the sound of Buck's foot fall changed. The hard, consistent beat of hooves smacking against stone was gone, replaced by the softer emanation caused by dirt, and grass, and mud. The jungle was back.
I have one question before I apply, can I make my character more of an Human/Robot? ))
((I'm going to have to say no to that. This roleplay is meant to be an exploration of humanity, along with the adventure. I'm glad to hear someone else is interested, though!))

Jahira started to breathe at a steadier pace. The sun seems to have come up, but this is only evident in small blotches of light filtering in through the dense forest canopy. It was still hard to see, it seemed that the change in time had not effected the forest's lighting as immensely as it should have. Buck slowed to eat some of the ground cover. We're not out of the woods yet...

Something had happened. Did I just black out? Getting up, she looks around. I'm back in the forest. At night. Why does this happen? She starts shivering. This is too familiar. Something must be up...

I hope this works. Jahira lept onto Buck. *whispers*"I'm sorry..." She hits the rusa, sending him forward, like a horse with night vision. Please work please work please work please work please work...

We're not out of the woods yet...
... pun intended...

\
((Sure!))
((Pigmanfire: Sorry It's taken so long for me to get reply to your post, I was kind of stuck about where to go from here. I think that you should make another post, lead the story some more, before I come and interfere and ruin everyone's lives. All I'll remind you is that the darkness is there because it's meant to be dark.))
((Oh umm... well I'm sure you heard the news about the dying computer and the laptop and stuff, so I'll just go ahead and post.))
Something had happened. Did I just black out? Getting up, she looks around. I'm back in the forest. At night. Why does this happen? She starts shivering. This is too familiar. Something must be up...
