Two hundred years ago, the world was led to war against itself. People fought and died for the greed of another. Companies hid behind government puppets and eventually took full control of the Earth for themselves. When the war eventually died down, there was only one company which vied for power remaining - Terminus. This company eventually controlled almost everything, from technology to politics. The world was still controlled by each country's presidents and prime ministers and such, but Terminus held so much sway within each country that it felt like Terminus controlled everything. All was relatively fine.
Or so it seemed.
Seven years after the war, humanity had discovered that the war had more damage upon the environment than originally anticipated. Indirectly, if anything. The use of the new energy weapons had each country(and their respective controlling companies) searching for power sources. Humanity found it in nuclear energy. Clean and efficient, this form of energy was widely developed in many countries. However, the true cause of the pollution was a faulty AI program within a power plant. The AI program froze midway through a routine check-up, causing the nuclear fusion plant to overheat and promptly explode. As if the danger held by that was not enough, several other nuclear power plants were caught in the blast(which then prompted them to explode, which may or may not hit other power plants depending on conditions). That specific continent was deemed uninhabitable, and all traces of Terminus activity in that field was erased. The blame was placed on drunk power plant workers and lax security programs.
The strong winds and constant storms blew the fallout in the direction of the other countries, contaminating them as well. This made countries and their people distrustful of nuclear energy. Within a years, people once again depended on fossil fuels. The new technology's high energy costs caused people to put these power plants into overdrive. They traded long term stability for short term comfort and living. Eventually the sky resembled the orange tint we usually see in the documentaries. Various sub-companies led by Terminus began a clean-up project, but after some calculation, the Earth would not be inhabitable for several thousand years.
People went underground in bunkers and cities. Food was heavily rationed, and each drop of water was precious. Terminus needed a way to save the human population. They looked to the sky, and began their endeavor. Hundreds of probes were sent into space in hopes of finding a nearby planet capable of human habitation. What they would find would be their savior.
A probe stumbled upon a sleek ship of some indeterminate origin. Humanity was surprised, they had finally discovered other intelligent life among the stars. After three months of waiting, the ship sent a probe of its own towards Earth. The probe landed directly in front of Terminus HQ, as if they had intended it to be that way. Several months later, they decrypted the probe and found its secrets. Everything from the probe's composition to the inner workings was researched. Terminus discovered that the alien race was identified as the Epheans. They were a knowledge seeking race which sought to enlighten other races. Within the probes data banks was information on ships, factions and most importantly, FTL travel(Faster than light travel). A few years later and humanity was able to replicate the Ephean technologies. Humanity took to the stars.
Fast forward a few hundred years to the current age. The year is 2748. Human colonies are spread in many different galaxies. Space travel and FTL is quite common(mostly for the middle - high class). Due to this, piracy is quite common in all corners of space. You have signed up on the mercenary company called "Stormheart", responsible for anything from merchant escort to private investigations. Stormheart leaders have assigned you to the S.S. Horizon, a newer ship model that is relatively advanced. Adventure awaits you aboard.
ABOUT PSIONICS
Upon examining the probe sent by the Epheans, humanity had found several databanks containing knowledge on the inner power of the mind. Certain humans, with proper training, can harness this capability in the form of psionics. The psi gene was aptly called "The Gift" by some. Psionics allowed people to perform a wide array of actions. A psion could communicate to someone in the form of telepathy, examine a situation from afar via clairvoyance, or destroy something by projecting raw energy from the mind. "Gifted" individuals were usually taken away(occasionally, by force) from their families for psionic training and development. Most of the time, psionics are mild, with telepathy being the most common ability. However, some people have been able to perform powerful actions with psionics. It is without a doubt, psionic capabilities are extremely powerful, but they must always be handled with care.
ABOUT STORMHEART
Stormheart was recently founded by an anonymous entity(race unclear/unknown) under the alias "Spark". There is a long chain of command to the mercenary company, but most can assume that Spark guides all of the high-level decision-making. The founder is presumably extremely wealthy to be able to fund an entire mercenary company in a relatively short period of time. When questioned about the company's motives, a cryptic answer was given.
"To prepare for the gathering storm", says Spark.
Some believe its a reference to the company's "electric" theme. Others believe that it may refer to some hidden plot. Whatever it means, it remains a mystery to all but the highest company officials.
ABOUT HORIZON
Horizon is the ship you are currently serving on. The model belonged to Terminus, but was purchased by Stormheart several months ago. It was originally a prototype minicarrier designed to be small enough to handle itself in a firefight or to dock at a station, but large enough to house a few fighters and exploration probes. After some refurbishing and re-purposing, the Horizon was born.
There are several rooms and utilities on the Horizon that you should get acquainted with. These are the following,
Crew Quarters - Seeing as this is not a military vessel, each crewman gets a small room. This is complete with a bed, a locker, a personal safe, a desk, and a simple chair. The door, locker, and safe can be locked with a 4-pin code. Every few rooms, there are 8-man escape pods containing standard-issue rations and supplies.
Canteen - Everyone gets free assigned rations every meal. If you wish to eat more, or wish to eat other types of food, you can spend a few credits to get it. There are many tables and chairs here. Alcohol is also served here, but is only available when you're off-duty. If you drink on the job, or if you're too drunk to do your job correctly, the captain will punish and penalize you.
Kitchen- A subroom in the canteen, the kitchen is where all food is cooked. If you have a meal request, you can speak to the chef. If you're ordering a meal specifically for yourself, you can spend a few credits here.
Washrooms - There are several washrooms around the ship. They're used to do your business, when necessary.
Showers - There is a male shower, and a female shower. Each showerhead is separated by walls to block vision. Use these to groom yourself.
Armory - During missions, if you don't have a weapon, a kit will be assigned to you. This usually consists of a standard grade conventional or laser weapon(with their accompanying ammo types). These kits are to be returned after the mission. If you feel inclined, you can also purchase weapons, armor, and ammo here. Just remember, stock in the armory is limited, so don't expect to find plasma weaponry or similarly rare items for sale.
The Helm - An integral part of the ship. Almost all ship orders come from here. The captain, along with pilots, navigators, and other associated staff are found here.
Captain's Quarters - Found in the loft, the captain's quarters is... where the captain stays. Not much to be done here, unless the captain calls you to his room.
Life Support - A very important part of the ship. Provides oxygen to all rooms, and provides water for the kitchen, washrooms, and showers.
Reactor - The literal core of the ship, the reactor is where all power comes from. This also powers the FTL Drive, necessary for moving from beacon to beacon.
Engineering - Horizon's twin impulse engines are maintained here. The FTL drive is also here. Ship engineers work here, most of the time.
Gunnery Deck - The ship's main gun batteries are managed from here. There are usually several operators on duty here.
Medical Laboratory - If someone incurs injuries, they are brought to the medical lab(called 'medbay' by most). If research on something needs to be done, it will be held here(with permission from the Chief Medical Officer).
Security - This is where doors, cameras, and internal sensors are managed. There are usually staff here 24/7.
The Brig - A subroom of the Security room. In the case of a live capture, they are brought to the brig. There are three medium-sized cells, each are secured by an energy barrier. If the power goes out, there is also a backup generator here(that specifically powers the energy barriers).
Hangar - This is where fighters, probes, and shuttles are kept. Upon mission transit, the team can take a shuttle to their destination. In case of ship-ship combat, there are several fighters here for use. If exploration is necessary, probes can be directed for scanning. There are also several combat and noncombat drones here.
Cargo Bay - This is where supplies(in bulk) are kept. Shipments and other related items are also placed here. You can also requisition a certain item(s) here, as long as it's not contraband.
Situation Room - Before and after a mission, this is where a team will meet. They will get briefed and debriefed here.
RULES
1. No Godmodding.*
2. No Powerplaying.*
3. No Metagaming.*
4. If you create a race, make a race app and wait for approval.
5. Put 'Odyssey' somewhere in your app to prove you've read the rules.
*You should know what these things are by now. If you don't, look it up.
RACES
Human - A common race amongst the stars. Their personalities vary wildly from peaceful to bloodthirsty. Most humans look up to the Epheans for saving them back then. They human race is currently at war with no particular race but is allied with the Epheans. Due to the Earth's pollution, most have a life expectancy of 70 years old. Their ship types consist of anything from junkers to capital ships. Psionics are few and far between.
Android - An uncommon race. Androids are any race that consists mainly of technology. If someone has a limb replaced by robotics, they are not an android. An individual is considered an android when at least 40% of the individual consists of robotics. Psionics can be enhanced or even reproduced through technology.
Ephean - A fairly uncommon race. Epheans are a tall, bipedal people. They are slender and sleek, reaching heights of 8 feet and above. They resemble the ethereal from XCOM: Enemy Unknown(use that as reference, but disregard the extra pair of arms). They tend to dislike violence and prefer the pursuit of knowledge. Epheans can easily live up to the age of 200 and above. Their ships are usually sleek and unassuming. All Epheans have latent and powerful psionic capabilities.
Aek'hith/Swarmborn - Quite common in certain parts of the galaxy, yet almost non-existent in others. They refer to themselves as Aek'hith but also respond to 'Swarmborn'. This is an invertebrate race that resembles insects. They have two arms, four legs, and a tail(stinger or otherwise). They are usually controlled by hive queens, so seeing an independent swarmborn is rare, but not unheard of. Aek'hith clans are usually at war with another Aek'hith clan, and there has been little to no unification of the clans. Aek'hith have a short life expectancy of 40 years old. Their ships are usually made of biomass(usually, these ships have a direct neural feed to the queen). All swarmborn have psionic capabilities(mostly telepathy).
Volati - Rare race. They resemble the birds of earth. They usually have a powerful sense of sight. They have huge wings, as they are capable of both sustained flight and short bursts of flight. Their arms and legs both have sharp talons. Volati have a life expectancy rate of 90 years old. Their ships are simple, but well-crafted. They do not have psionic capabilities.
Kruon - Uncommon race. They are reptilian in nature. Kruons usually have powerful arms(one pair) and legs(bipedal) and a tail. They are a proud and warlike people. They can live up to 150 years old. Their ships are usually large and tough. Psionic capabilities are very rare.
Praeth - Fairly common race. They resemble Turians from the Mass Effect series. They originate from Ressi IV, a mountainous planet with a similar composition to Earth. They are bound by codes of honor, but also develop technologies that assist them in both everyday life, and in times of war. Their technologies are similar to Human technology, but often more efficient and expensive. They do not possess psionic capabilities.
Appearance: The Praeth stand at about 7 feet tall, and have a bony exterior to protect themselves. Their mouths house many sharp teeth, and on their hands they have sharp claws that many keep cut short and dull. Their body structure resembles that of Turians of Mass Effect. They often wear a hard, but light armor to protect themselves, but still keeping them lightweight.
Image:
Homeworld: The Praeth originate from the world of Ressi IV, a planet in the habitable zone of it's star. Slightly larger than Earth, Ressi IV has grassy valleys and rocky plateaus, but mountains are rare. The rocky soil on the plateaus make farming difficult, but not impossible. Ressi IV has three main, large continents with small island surrounding them and ice caps at both poles. The atmosphere is very similar to Earth, but the protective layer of ozone is in much better shape. There are very large portions of land that have been ravaged by war.
Culture: Praeth stand by honour and courage, but still enjoy the knowledge gained by research. While armies were fighting battles, private research companies were developing new tech to fight these wars. Praeth are known for their skill on the battlefield and adaptability with weapons, but have no Psionic Capabilities. Androids are also rare, due to the complex body structure of the Praeth although some might have neural implants to help in combat. Praeth mostly stick with their clans, but it sometimes there are lone Praeth traveling the stars.
Technological Development: Praeth use the same FTL methods and weaponry as humans. But, their tech has a geometric design and is built around efficiency, rather than cost. Making any Praeth tech expensive, but often worth it.
Psionic Capabilities: None
Influence: Praeth are not at war, but there have been many civil wars in the past.
Artifex - A rare race. They look similar to the Engineers/pilots from Prometheus. They come from the planet of Sors III, a planet that receives little to no natural light. They prefer solace away from the other races in the pursuit of intelligence. They are rarely seen, but when they are, it is usually to learn more things about the vast universe. They do not have psionic capabilities.
Other than that picture, they stand very tall, most commonly at 8'0 and above.
Homeworld: The Artifex come from the planet of Sors III, which is a planet that hardly sees light of any sorts - be it moon, sun or anything -, the planet is completely surrounded in darkness. The atmosphere is like Earth's - oxygen forms most of it and carbon, nitrogen and such are present in it. This has allowed the planet to house plant-life, although the plants found are all the same due to having no light - white with large leaves to absorb any sort of photon energy it can find from the outside world. The world is completely scientific-based with research stations and colonies formed around in both far and close-by planets. The geography consists mainly of volcanic rock and water, having island-like continents formed due to volcanic reactions distributed among the large amounts of water. Since it receives no light, the planet is completely illuminated by artificial light.
Culture: The Artifex are completely a scientific people, not believing in war unless provoked. Their technology and power-suits lets them have a wide range of benefits even in combat, but they choose not to use it unless directly threatened. They are looking for ways to evolve life and research all life forms and, pretty much, understand how this universe works, ready to make any sort of sacrifice to gain new information. They are also known to have advanced forms of culture in art, music, clothing and have their own language. Their writing system is very similar to the Mesopotamian cuneiforms that are found in Middle-East, and their hieroglyphs are identical to that of Egypt's.
Technological development: From the start of their evolution, they've always worked towards science and culture, and have improved a lot. Since their only and main objective is to evolve, gain new knowledge and invent new things, they are one of the most technologically advanced species in the universe. Their ships are mostly large and heavily armored to protect it from any danger, with at least three scientific research stations mandatory in each ship. They are extremely advanced in genetic engineering. They are capable of bio-stasis, terraforming, holograms and perhaps, accelerating evolution.
Psionic capabilities: They do not have any psionic capabilities or whatsoever, but they do have a high amount of intelligence.
Influence: The Artifex are commonly known to avoid any form of contact with other species unless they are required to do so for research purposes. Few of the experienced Artifex commonly leave their society to blend in with the universe, becoming pilots and engineers for hire and many other things, their bio-suits letting them do a wide amount of work and jobs. They've never warred against any other species nor did they have any civil wars. They do not have allies, as they do not interact as a species with another species.
Feltar - Fairly rare race. They are an insectoid race that highly resembles Earth Cicadas. Their planet of origin is Zsaarti, a densely forested planet. They are peaceful for the most part, but have developed weaponry to combat predators. Any Feltar above the age of 60 is sent to retirement. Psionics are rare, and as such, most Feltar with psionic capabilities become government officials.
Appearance: The Feltar, are an insectile race similar to Earth Cicadas. They are commonly quadrupeds with their frontal claws biologically purposed to be used in digging and self defense, they become legs when completing metamorphosis.
The Feltar are commonly seen as larvae, because once they reach 80 they complete metamorphosis and are forced to breed and die shortly afterward. The Feltar are very similar to Earth Cicada minus the wing structure and that they are the size of a horse (about 4-5 ft). No other species could normally tell the difference between two of them apart, they can tell one from another based on small hairs on the face, which is their prime means of sensory. Due to the "day walkers" needing some way to tell them apart, they commonly paint one another, as they have no need for clothing. They commonly feed on juices in the roots of plants on the surface through their proboscis, but they have been experimenting with juices of fruits, vegetables, and puréed meats. As adults, their claws become legs, they grow to the size of a rhino and they gain coloring ranging from green to black.
Homeworld: The Feltar were a species of arthropod on a bioball planet of dense forestry, Zsaarti. There species began Asocial as they simply dug, lived, and bred, much like the Earth Cicada, but eventually enough of the tunnels made over thousands of years interconnected and created community.
Culture: The Feltar are a more peaceful type but developed weaponry in order to destroy their predators, which were gargantuan monkeys who would pluck them from the ground.
Despite FTL travel, they never send anyone into space older than 60 into space in fear of reproduction/death, once a crew member becomes 60 they are to be sent to the nearest colony to live life in retirement. They also won't send those younger than 11.
All ages mentioned are based on the revolution of their home planet, Zsaarti, twenty weeks longer than an earth year. Colonists on other worlds measure age the same way in the unit of Zsaartians.
Their current leader is Chakk Therr, elected democratically. Currently at the age of 63, due to this, any confrences with him will be on video/hologram (unless the confrence is on Zsaarti).
Gan-Re-La is similar to being married, based on the belief that by living and interacting with that of the opposing gender whom is of the same reproductive cycle you will mate with that person upon the surface, in reality, this only works 30% of the time, but one can alter the sensory pre-adulthood, raising this likelihood to 60%.
The currency of the Feltar is in power units, a token that provides power to a machine, like money, these units have higher values, but they do not have fractional values. Power units, as one might expect are regulated by the generators, whom also serve as banks.
Technological development: With common goals and ambitions, the Feltar dug downwards, found and harnessed geothermal energy. This started their technological revolution and gave them the means to create massive innovation. As the years passed they finally made their way into space and eventually into Civ I status. They have been space faring for about 500 years.
Psionic capabilities: Very rare, these members are often government officials.
Influence: They are currently negotiating claims on planets and asteroids for colonies, trying their best not to fall into a war like situation.
Stone People - Rare race. Stone People are, as the name implies, made of stone and other minerals. They come from the crystal mines of Durn-8, a rocky planet that resembles the Earth's moon. There are two main variants of the Stone People, with green ones acting as the commoners, and the purple ones acting as the leaders and other related figures. Only the purple Stone People have psionic capabilities, but it's limited to one minor power.
Race name: Stone People (they don't have any name they can remember, so they call themselves the nicknames which people have given them)
Appearance: An average stone person is about 3,5 meters / 11 feet tall and consists of several stones which form 2 feet, 1 enormous torso with a green rune on it, 2 arms and 1 bulky head. Some stone persons have a purple glow to them, and other stone people have been sighted dieng around them once one of them was killed .
Homeworld: The crystal mines of Durn-8. Its a mountanous stone landscape similiar to the moon, but its hiding many precious power crystals beneath the surface.
Technological development: Their technology is seemingly non-existant. After they appeared on the mines and quickly took over all the mining facilities, they had begun to form some sort of culture. Some of the green ones searched for power crystals, which seemed to be a food source exclusive to the purple ones, while other green people builded structures.
Culture: After closer observation, its found that the green ones build temples and other monuments for the purple ones. The purple ones in exchange gave living power to all nearby green ones (150 meter radius). After 3 years they keep praying to the purple ones, even though the planet's power crystal supply slowly vanishes.
Psionic capabilities: Only purple ones seem to have psionic capabilities, but its limited to one, minor power.
Influence: They are entirely neutral and stay in their homeworld. However, there are increasing reports of stone people escaping from their world in glowing, yellow 'stone pods', all of them being operated by purple ones. Could they be an intelligent species after all?

WEAPON TYPES
Melee - Basic weaponry. These can range between primitive spears to supercharged blades of energy. Effect on synthetics vary depending on weapon, but universally effective against most organics. Bypasses shields, decent against armor.
Conventional - Basic weaponry. Slugs fired by a weapon with enough force to penetrate most organic and synthetic targets. Effective against shields, ineffective against armor.
Explosive - Basic weaponry. As the name says, results in a powerful explosion. Usually made as one-shot weaponry, heavy weaponry, or ship weaponry. Effective against most targets. Effect on shields and armor varies depending on explosive force.
Gauss - Expensive weaponry, used mostly as ship weapons or heavy weaponry. Powerful electromagnets fire a ferromagnetic slug at the target. Very powerful, but expensive. Effective against both shields and armor.
Laser - Common weaponry. Rays of light and heat focused by various lenses burn and damage most organic targets. Synthetics require continuous fire. Ineffective against shields, effective against armor.
EMP - Fairly uncommon weaponry. Fires a pulse of electromagnetic waves that disables most synthetic targets. When overloaded, EMP weapons can also stun an organic target. Extremely effective against shields, no effect on armor.
Pulse - Uncommon weaponry. An improved version of laser weaponry. Fires in pulses instead of rays and beams(hence the name). Effective against all targets. Decent against both shields and armor.
Disruptor - Uncommon weaponry. Fires a blast of energy towards the target. Rips through organics and disrupts synthetics. High energy cost results in either large, unwieldy weapons or disposable one-shot weapons. Little effect against shields, great against armor.
Plasma - Rare weaponry. Fires a charge of superheated plasma at the target. Burns through most targets and overheats synthetics. Weapons themselves require a large amount of energy and are prone to overheating. Semi-effective against shields, effective against armor.
Graviton - Rare weaponry. Manipulates gravity around the target, allowing the user to increase or decrease the target's weight. Usually comes with some sort of containment field to manipulate target further. Specialized weapon.
Acidic - Specialized weaponry belonging to the Aek'hith. Usually designed for ship-to-ship combat, acid weaponry are designed to burn through shields and hull so that an Aek'hith ship can begin boarding. Bypasses shields and is effective against armor.
Incendiary - Uncommon weaponry. Creates a large amount of flames in a short span of time. Extremely effective against organics, though most synthetics with basic heat resistant plating can shrug it off with ease. Uses ammunition such as solid fuel or gasoline(or similar). Certain ammunition and weapon types can convert a weapon into a incendiary weapon. Extremely ineffective against shields and armor.

ACCEPTED CHARACTERS
Willowisp323 - Andrew Stevenson. Android(Human)/Male/28
Name: Andrew Stevenson
Race: Android, originally human
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Appearance: Despite being mostly robotic, Andrew has tried to look human. He has a synthetic skin that covers him, it is a light colour and though appears almost grey, it is a close match to his natural skin colour. It is a bit transparent so one can see metal through it if they were to look closely. The left side of his face is organic, the right side is partly organic, if one were to look closely they could see metal plates on that side. Andrew's eyes are a vivid green colour. His right eye has been replaced and the colour match is not very good, it is a noticeably lighter green than his left. His hair and scalp are organic, and his hair is cut short and is an ashy blonde colour. He is thin and wiry, he is not very strong but he is quite fast. His arms are enhanced with technology and his legs have been completely replaced. Andrew stands at about average height.
He wears a pair of light grey, cloth trousers and a collarless, white, long sleeve shirt with a gold-coloured trim. Over the top of this he wears a brown, cloth jacket with lighter patches on the elbows. His laced shoes are made of a beige, canvas-like material. He also wears a basic digital watch made of a light green material and a pair of flight goggles that have light blue frames. Although he realises that the goggles would be useless for piloting spacecraft he wears them anyway. He wears the goggles on his forehead.
Specialisation: Andrew is trained as a pilot and considers it his specialisation.
Psionic Capabilities: Andrew possesses mild psychic abilities gifted to him by technology. He has basic telepathic abilities, enough to send and receive messages but nothing more.
Biography:
Andrew's early life was similar to that of most humans. He didn't become a cyborg until he became an adult. As a child he played and went to school. He received adequate grades, they weren't perfect but he wasn't barely passing either. He knew from a young age exactly what he wanted to do. This was the one thing that provided direction in his life. He wanted to be in the pilot's seat of the enormous flying heap of metal and wires that was a spaceship.
From the moment Andrew finished school he applied to a pilot's school. It took him three months before they finally said yes. From his very first day in pilot's school he showed a determination that surpassed every one of his classmate's. When Andrew first sat in the pilot's seat he could sense that his dream was coming true. Although there was a trained pilot in the seat next to him, Andrew still saw this as a step towards his goal. Andrew's career as a pilot was just beginning. But there was one flight that would change his life even more than his first one. Andrew was going on another training flight, the flight that would change his life forever.
As the ship flew, Andrew began noticing something strange. There was a blip on radar, another ship was close. Andrew and a friend of his were the only people on this ship, and both didn't know what was causing it. They tried to contact what they believed to be a ship, there was no response. The ship was old, the two concluded that the radar was faulty, after all they saw no ship and there was no response to their attempts at contact. It wasn't a ship, but a huge floating chunk of rock. The asteroid hit the ship despite Andrew's attempts at dodging it. The instruments overloaded and Andrew took the force of the energy building up inside the ship. The electricity and plasma that was inside the ship arced right into Andrew. The world went black, a surprised shout from his friend was the last thing he heard before he passed out. Andrew's friend piloted the remains of the ship to safety.
When he awoke, he was staring at a white ceiling. He couldn't move, he panicked. That was until a doctor walked into his line of sight. The doctor answered all his questions with an unending patience. He had been told that he was severely injured in the burst of energy from the panel. He was told that he needed bionic implants if he was ever going to move again. It took several months and surgeries, but Andrew was healed. His entire legs had been replaced and his arms had technology put inside them to make the move once more. Any internal damage was repaired and an implant was put inside his brain to allow the technology to be controlled. The implant inside his brain came with an extra ability, it had telepathic circuits. It was a request from Andrew who had always been fascinated by psionic powers. The implants worked, Andrew was able to move again. He couldn't thank the doctors enough. He rejoined pilot's school as soon as he had gotten used to his new limbs. His dream was undiminished by the accident, though it took months before he was fit to fly spaceships again.
Andrew graduated from pilot's school, now being more machine than human. He received his pilot's license and began looking for a job. He needed money, to live and for his medical bills. He found out that a mercenary company called Stormheart was hiring. He was unsure about working for a mercenary company, but soon decided to apply to work there.
Service time: 2 months
Equipment: Andrew currently has a single laser pistol, a simple knife, a notebook, a pen and exactly 150 credits.
Other: Odyssey.
Hexacore - Akaro Rense. Praeth/Male/29
Race: Praeth
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Appearance: Akaro's by looks like any other Praeth's although his face is his unique feature. His eyes are a bright orange, and his has multiple small scars covering the rest of his face. On the right side of his face, he has a fairly large burn mark, but by now, it's mostly faded away. Of the three hornlike structures on his head, one of them is broken and the other two are covered in cuts and chips.
Specialization: Akaro is a master of combat and weaponry. He considers himself a Combat Technician
Psionic Capabilities: Akaro, like all Praeth, has no Psionics.
Biography:
After a very traumatic part of his life, Akaro found himself leaving Ressi IV, and carrying his clan sigil with him at all times. He began to wander as a mercenary for hire and saved up most of the credits he made. Life had gotten relatively normal for Akaro, and he was happy how it had turned out. Still haunted by the events of his past, he was slowly moving on and continued to learn about the various types of weaponry.
When he eventually found himself with Stormheart, he didn't intent to stay for very long. Like most contracts, this was just business. A way to make money. He didn't care for those around him, or what happened. As long as he got paid, nothing else mattered. Over time, he found himself beginning to care about those he had fought alongside and started to have second thoughts about leaving.
Akaro decided that he'd stay for a bit longer, but still intended to leave. But he found himself not wanting to go. He enjoyed the company of these people, and loved being around people he came to trust. Life hadn't been like this since... That day, years ago. Akaro decided on staying for good, and has since been with Stormheart.
Service Time: Akaro has been with Stormheart for a total of 2 years. He's still relatively new, but he knows his way around.
Equipment: Akaro carries a FW-10 Automatic Laser Rifle, and a PB-40 Conventional SMG. Both have his clan name and sigil carved into them. Though he owns both of these, he's often lent them to those he truly trusts. Akaro also carries a standard Praeth Combat Knife for close encounters. For non-combat, Akaro always has his clan sigil, and a few thousand credits with him.
Biography: Tsh'Jin was a veteran warrior of his clan. However, unlike the other clans where a veteran meant most kills in the shortest amount of years, its clan valued stealth. It and a few fellow team members already sabotaged 5 smaller clans by sneaking into their bases and assassinating high value targets. However, one day it screwed up and alarmed a ton of enemy swarmborns, which quickly shredded the team to pieces, except Jin.
It was the only one which managed to escape back to the ships, and escape. On the way back however, the ship managed to get shot off by the manual defenses, and it thought it was the end for it. However, a miracle happened. Jin crashed right into a mercenary ship hangar which would change its life forever. And knock it temporariely unconcious. It was S.S. Horizon, and due to the damage it was forced to join the crew.
Service time: 1 year. Fairly familiar with the enviroment it is living in.
Equipment: A few random spices, 584 credits (<- can't handle currency too well), silenced convential pistol (including 2 standart magazines)
Other: Oddysey. Note: Its 'horns' allow it to have psionic abilities, cutting them off will temporarily disable them. They should regrow in about 5 days.

((Good app. Accepted. We will start when there are at least 2 or 3 other people. On a side note, I will add more details about Horizon, Stormheart, and Psionic capabilities in the main post.))

"The meaning of life? Walk slowly and carry a big gun."

For non-combat, Akaro always has his clan sigil, and a few thousand credits with him.

"The meaning of life? Walk slowly and carry a big gun."
Arguments happen, they just do, you can't stop it, no matter how much power you have, even if it takes years to settle, when it does, everyone is stronger for it. Rivalries can be made into friendships if you let them.
Some ideas are meant to be made into reality, but most need to be burned at the stake.

LORE
RULES
2. No Powerplaying.*
3. No Metagaming.*
4. If you create a race, make a race app and wait for approval.

*You should know what these things are by now. If you don't, look it up.
RACES
Want to create a custom race? Just follow the format below. If it is accepted, it will be added to the available races.

WEAPON TYPES
Want to create a weapon type? Follow the format below. If accepted, I'll add it to the available weapon types.

ACCEPTED CHARACTERS

Name: Tsh'Jin
Race: Swarmborn
Gender: Genderless
Age: 13
Appearance:
Specialization: Cooking and Stealth. Includes stealth cooking when everyone is asleep.
Psionic Capabilities: Aura Reading, Omnilingualism

(( Reserved, going to apply in like an hour! ))
(( Sorry for the double-post, but is it possible that we have a military/mercenary character - seeing as Stormheart has a full mercenary company - assigned as security in the ship? ))

Other: Odyssey
Race name: Artifex
Appearance:
Race Name: The Feltar
Arguments happen, they just do, you can't stop it, no matter how much power you have, even if it takes years to settle, when it does, everyone is stronger for it. Rivalries can be made into friendships if you let them.
Some ideas are meant to be made into reality, but most need to be burned at the stake.
Hating the things you love
((I plan on making character pilots assigned to shuttle or fighter duty. If you still want the pilot role, go for it.))
((Go ahead, it'd make sense for a ex-military person to join a mercenary company.))
((Good apps. Both the race and the character app are accepted.))
((Accepted.))
((Will add to list later.))
If I do not reply to my posts, I either have no internet connection, or am busy with college work. Alternatively, I may be writing up the post now. It all depends on the situation.
(( Reserving this, going to do my character app now. ))
((Accepted. Added to weapon list.))

((I'm ready to start posting whenever, just give me that all clear to do so.))
((I'm really just waiting for others to apply. Unfortunately, it seems people tend to stray away from the sci-fi genre(and focus on fantasy and power rp). Wait for a bit. If nobody applies, I'll make a few NPC characters to go on missions with you guys.))

Goodbye, Halloween. See you next year.

((Of course. Just fill out an app and send it through here. If it passes up, then you can join. If you need help on it(or help in RP in general), don't hesitate to ask.))
