The adventurers sailed towards the island. As the sun rose into the sky over the horizon and cast long shadows onto the beach, each one prepared themselves mentally and physically for the task that lay before them. They had been contracted by a mysterious, wealthy businessman in their home city to retrieve an artifact that he claimed was stolen from him and placed on the island. The artifact, he said, was extremely valuable, and he would pay them a rather large sum for it's return.
You are one such adventurer. Being no fool, you banded together with some of your adventuring buddies and decided to set out towards the mysterious island.
NOTE: Scarfking is the CO-DM. His word holds as much weight as mine.

Classes:
You MUST choose a class, however, Sub-classes are optional. Choosing a sub-class will mean you become less versed in your main class, but you also delve a small bit into a second class. While you could argue that Battleminds and Spellswords are the same, Battleminds are 66% fighter, 33% mage, whereas Spellswords are 66% mage and 33% fighters. Choosing a class without a sub-class means that you're an expert in your first class, but only your first class. Choose wisely.
Mage:
Mages use a particular domain of magic (Cold, Fire, Lightning, Chaos, etc) and master it. They are proficient in their chosen ability, and although they are fragile at close range, can dish out more damage than any other class on the battlefield.
Sub-classes:
-Spellsword (Fighter). Spellswords are capable of infusing some of the magic they possessed as Wizards with the martial mastery of a Fighter. Both deadly at close and long range, Spellswords are not to be taken lightly.
-Shadow Mage (Rouge). Shadow mages are Wizards who have delved into necromancy and the darker side of magic, raising the dead and draining the life of their opponents.
-Light Mage (Cleric). The polar opposite of a Shadow Mage, a Light Mage uses healing magic and bright lights to dazzle their opponents and keep their allies alive.
Fighter. Fighters are your tanks and close-up damage dealers. They can deal damage from a close range that would make a Wizard envious, and have the physical strength to endure even the most powerful attacks.
Sub-classes:
-Battlemind (Mage). Battleminds infused the martial art of close-range combat with magic. As opposed to swordmages, who cast spells on the battlefield, Battleminds use passive magic to make themselves more powerful.
-Gladiator (Rouge). Gladiators aren't as tough as Fighters, but they excel at dealing damage to one opponent. Usually singling out one foe at a time, a Gladiator methodically destroys each of his opponents and ignores the rest.
-Paladin (Cleric). Paladins are the epitome of durability on the battlefield. Capable of providing first-aid and some healing magic, Paladins are the perfect tank. Although they don't dish out as much damage as a Fighter, they do excel at destroying undead and other creatures of the night.
Rouge. Rouges are sneaky little buggers. They use extreme physical discipline to move around without being noticed, and are masters of camouflage to the point of being invisible. They aren't amazing damage dealers, but if they get up behind you, they can put a knife in your back or snap your neck before you realize you're dead.
Sub-classes:
-Shadow Hunter (Mage). Shadow Hunters stay to the shadows, using magic that allows them to become nearly invisible to the naked eye. They can also cast spells to confuse their opponents, create illusions, inject deadly poisons, or even vanish in plain sight.
-Assassin (Fighter). Assassins are deadly. Preferring stealth even more than a Rouge, they are adept at poisons. Whereas a Rouge is more geared towards stealing things, Assassins are proficient in ending lives as quickly as possible.
-Vigilante (Cleric) The vigilante is the assassin's opposite. They operate in a similar fashion, but use spells to blind their opponents with light and they only target criminals. They refuse to attack anything that has not wronged them first.
Cleric. The cleric is your standard battle-medic. Capable of channeling divine energies that can smite foes and heal allies, Clerics are a quintessential component of every team.
Sub-classes:
-Invoker (Mage). Invokers prefer to deal damage with divine magics rather than heal their allies, although they still can benefit their team with boosts to stamina and intellect.
-Ardent (Fighter). Ardents are like paladins, but they don't like taking too much damage. They instead support their team through the use of divine magics and healing powers.
-Cleanser (Rouge). Cleansers are like Vigilantes, but they use divine magics to smite and destroy their foes.
Races:
Humans: They're humans. If you don't know what a human is, you may need to get out more.
Dwarves: Generally shorter than humans, they tend to have long beards and bald heads.
Elves: Usually taller than humans, they have no facial hair and polite mannerisms.
Dragonborn: Generally the same height as humans, they're covered in scales from head to toe.
Gnolls: About the same height as humans, they have hyena-like characteristics and body features.
Thri-Kreen: Slightly taller than humans, they are very bug-like and have four arms.
Goliath: Much taller than humans, they have pale skin with white lines across their body.
Warforged: Can be nearly any height, they are essentially androids, however, they are not manufactured.
Shardminds: Can be nearly any height, they are comprised entirely of crystal in various colors.
All of the above races can be google-imaged to get a better idea of their appearance. Also, feel free to make your own or use one not listed here.

Appearence: Heshkan is dark-green with piercing yellow eyes, and stands at about 6'1"
Class: Wizard/Mage
Class description (Only use if you're doing a custom class, or to specify details regarding power type for Wizard): Heshkan is best at manipulating water, and knows that there's even some in the air if he needs to. He can also teleport short distances, but this power has to recharge after he uses it, about 5 minutes. He can manipulate water so that its ice as well. He can make spears from ice as well as walls. He can use water to misdirect weapon's attacks, and can make the water boiling hot to attack. He knows theres water in every living organism, and has been working on manipulating a creature by controlling the water in it. However, he can only control very small things at the moment, but he is training to improve.
Bio: Heshkan was enrolled against his will into a magic boarding school when he was 7. The teacher, who was a good teacher, had very strict rules and overall just hated his students. Heshkan was forced to stay there over every summer, and was the only one. And while he excelled in magic, he began to resent it. When he was 15, nearing graduation, he'd had enough. He used his magic to escape the school and ran away into a nearby forest. Nobody could find him, and he practiced more and on his own. He returned to civilization at 19, became a wand for hire, and recently took a job to recover an artifact on a faraway island.
Equipment: A 14-inch wand and leather armor.

Name: Tak-tha
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Thri-Kreen
Appearance: Tak-tha stands about 6' 5". With deep green eyes and a brownish-yellow chitinous shell surrounding his body. As is typical with most Thri-Kreen, Tak-tha has 4 arms, the two upper arms are large and pronounced while the two lower arms are small and thin. Tak-tha, being a monk, tends not to carry weapons in his upper arms, instead he opts to throw chatkcha with his lower arms. He also tends to wear nothing but a loincloth and satchel as his chitinous shell acts as his clothing.
Class: Monk
Class description: Monks are masters of martial arts. They use their hands and feet in order to inflict a rapid succession of crushing blows. They are incredibly agile and strong from years of arduous training. A monk can jump higher, run faster, and has more stamina than the average person of their species and uses that skill in combat in order to confuse foes.
Bio: Tak-tha was born to a nomadic tribe of Thri-kreen in a far off land. From a very early age, he was compelled to join the local monk outfit. He trained for years, enduring trials of both the heart, body, and mind. After many years, he completed his training and was sent out to spread enlightenment to the world. He soon joined an adventuring party and began using his skills to fight evil. But alas, all good things must come to an end. One day Tak-tha's party was killed and he was the only man left alive. Jobless and hopeless, he went searching for his next adventure and eventually found it on an island, searching for a strange and powerful treasure,
Equipment: As said in the appearance, Tak-tha carries nothing but a satchel, containing a number of chatkcha. He also wears a loincloth.
Other: I am lost, might as well check my Dungeon Map.

Sure. The downsides of a monk is firstly that they are not the greatest against mass weapons. Unlike what you see in anime, maces cannot be caught with your hands. Secondly, monks are useless at range. Even with the Chatkcha, he still could not hold up to somebody carrying, let's say, a bow. Finally, though I may not have described it very well, a monk does not deal incredibly high damage in single shots. The only thing that allows them to deal that much damage is the high output of blows.
A chatkcha is much like a throwing star with 3 points. It has a short range due to its sheer weight.))
((Oh, Monk was the word I was looking for for the rouge-cleric sub-class. I feel stupid.))

Name: Saul Abbey
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race: Goliath
Appearance: Standing at an impressive 2.8m tall (about 9' 2"), Saul is quite a sight to behold. He has short, dark brown hair covered by a metal plate helmet. His eyes are hazel and have a certain kindly look to them, giving the impression of a gentle giant. His skin is fair and his face is free from blemishes, there are white lines that run across his skin. The lines run down his arms and legs and frame his face. He has a thin mouth and a rounded chin. He has thick arms and legs, broad shoulders and an athletic statue. His helmet is plain and undecorated without a visor so his face is visible. He wears an undecorated metal breastplate and shoulder armour. The metal plates are bound with leather and underneath he wears a white tunic with a leather belt and brown trousers. He wears armour on his legs and feet too. He wears metal plate gauntlets on his hands. On his belt there is a leather pouch for storing things and a sheath for his sword.
Class: Paladin
Bio:
Saul's early life was much the same as anyone else's. He grew up in a medium-sized town, smaller than a city but larger than a village. As a child he would play with the other children, despite being taller than them. He learned, about math and science, about literature and history and about the world in which he lived. There weren't many people in the town that were as tall as Saul and his family. Saul's father was a guard in the town and was well known for this. As soon as Saul was old enough his father began teaching him how to use a sword. He learned quite quickly and became adept in a few years. Saul's life was set up for following in his father's footsteps, to become a guard. That was until it was noticed that Saul had some magical potential, more specifically healing magic.
He first noticed when he had gotten hurt. Saul had seen someone trying to steal from a citizen. He had been taught to help those in trouble and came to their aid. When he raised his sword against the criminal, the criminal slashed at him with a knife. At this point the guards had notice the commotion and tried to stop the criminal, they were successful. But Saul had been injured. When suddenly a light shone from his hands and healed his wound. At first he was surprised, even afraid. But that faded when he realised that it was healing him. It was amazing, he ran to tell his father and mother immediately. They exchanged looks and thought it over for a while before suggesting that he go to the local temple and study the healing magic.
Over the years Saul learned and honed his gift. He studied divine magics and became disciplined. His sword practice and his healing magic made him the perfect candidate for a paladin. He worked to help the innocent and defend his home town with his father and the other guards. He made sure to do what was right. Despite becoming a paladin he still studied healing magic and practiced his swordsmanship. He acquired his armour, sword and shield from a local blacksmith.
After a year or two into his life as a paladin, Saul heard about the businessman and his lost artefact. He had to help, it was in his nature and his job as a paladin. He contacted the businessman and offer to take the job.

Name: John Hagsbard
Age: 15
Gender: male
Race: human
Appearance: John is rather short at 5'5, with generally messy dark brown hair. He has tan skin from being outside so much, and since he is still a teenager he has a few pimples, but not too many. He also has a few freckles, which make his achne less noticable. He has a slightly round face as well, making him look around 12 which he often gets teased for. He generally wears shorts and tunic with a jacket on. Usually when he is fighting he dresses in different clothes that can hide his weapons.
Class: vigilante or assasin, I can't decide
Bio: John lived his life as an orphan, who was taken in by a poor and rustic fisherman who, although scolded him constantly for being the troublemaker that he was, was loved dearly by the kid. John didn't get much of an education, only learning things by doing, and without many friends because he was known as a troublemaker. Most of the other children s parents did not necessarily want their children to be influenced by him.
One night, John was in the store sitting behind the counter sharpening a knife for gutting the fish. He heard people come into the store despite it being locked and closed. He was a little scared. His caretaker was out fishing for a few days, so he couldn't think of anything to do. The person walked past him not noticing where he was, then right when he went to open the door leading into their home, John took the knife and cut the mans arm deeply.
Since it was dark he knew the man couldn't fight back with that deep cut. The man fled and John told the fisherman about it once he got back. This made the fisherman decide to teach John some safe fighting tactics so that he could protect himself from any future threats. Later on, the taxes got higher, the fisherman was getting lazy and having trouble finding fish, and they were having issues. John heard about the ad for finding the treasure, and decided to sneak out and join the mission. He left a note which would be summarized to say that 'he was going to find a way to get them more money so they wouldn't have to worry' that was only part of it though. He decided that he needed to make use of his life, and since he had little education all he could do was fight.
Equipment: Some poison, spices for spells, a short sword to suit his height, a dagger for when he is not in close combat, some bandages in case he gets injured, a map, and a loaf of bread because A: He is a teenager and gets hungry, and B: because after assassinating someone he will put pieces of bread on the body so that birds and mice can help the body decompose (nasty I know)
Other: a dungeon map would be useful right about now...

Puella Magi Madoka Magicka is an awesome, feel-good, cutesy anime. You should watch it!
Name: Robert Evermoore, but likes to be called Voljar the Kindler.
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Robert is a tall man, handsome, strong, and can immediately catch the eye, his hair is jet black and covers the back of his neck and slightly covers his eyesight, his eye's are of a deep, intelligent brown, making his pupils barely visible.
Tall around 1.85 meters, he is skinny, but not enough to make him seem malnourished or even weak, he has a bit of stubble of his chin, and has pale skin, which is awkward for what he does as a living.
He usually wears a red robe, decorated with symbols and drawings from a long lost language, he has a hood which he usually wears and with the robe which seems to be made of a thick and rather resistant material, similar to leather.
his muscles are not visible with his robe on, but believe me, you don't want to pick a fight with this lad.
Class: Mage
Bio: Robert had been sent to a school of sorcery since he was young, his parents saw great potential in him due to his intelligence, and so did his teachers, they trained him in the arts of magic, spell bending and casting, but Robert has always been very poetical and simply loved fire, how it hypnotized you with it's lingering flames, how it can destroy entire city's, how it can be used to save lives.
People started to think he was mad to some degree, and....They weren't that wrong, but nothing serious, he's simply addicted to the thought of fire and loves it.
At the age of of 18, he started moving on to the more "dangerous" parts of pyromancy, specifically what he called "becoming the fire".
He summoned a flame elemental, but instead of simply summoning it, he canalized it into himself, creating a dangerous Robert, a Robert corrupted by the dark thoughts of an in-human being, so Robert went power mad, he almost burnt down the entire academy, and killed many people in the process and injuring even more. He created a whole new branch of Pyromancy on his own, and now is trying to master the art of "Becoming the flame".
So far, he is the only human to have done this successfully without dying to the hand of the Fire elemental inside the host, which supplies an almost infinite amount of energy, but this power is slow, and can leave even people like Robert almost dead to fatigue by the end of the rampage.
After the fire, he was exiled from his home town and has started wandering the lands to try and find some use for his pyromancy skills.
Equipment:
Thick Leather armor:not heavy enough to protect him against swords and not heavy enough to slow him down
Ashbiter: a short sword, used only in emergency's, not exactly Roberts favored weapon as he does not know how to wield it effectively, he uses it only when he can't use his spells
Tome of flames: a book where robert keeps all of his spells written down in case he forgets them
Red robe: a....you know...a Red robe

Class: Pyromant
Pyromants are similar to mages, they like using magic a lot, but differently from mages Pyromants concentrate solely on the use of flames as their weapon, Pyromants are rarer than classic mages, and you need to be physically and mentally prepared to flames, usually they have flames to protect them from long and short range.
Pyromants can cast fire orbs, flamethrowers, waves of fire (hellfire), can evoke fire elementals to aid them in battle and can engulf themselves in flames to protect themselves, alongside many more abilities.

Fire can be a sign of Death, of destruction, but at the same time it can be a symbol of peace, wisdom, and power.
Fire is what it's caster wants it to be.

Heshkan was up on deck, he had been there all night. Now it was nearing sunrise, judging by the pre-dawn glow. He was exhausted, but he was trying to make himself tired to get good sleep later. He's gone sleepless the past few nights, and was hoping for at least a few hours sleep tonight. The island was in sight, the captain said it'd be about a day until they got there. He heard the creaking of boards behind him, meaning somebody was probably up. He didn't move, but he did speak. "Good morning." His voice was flat and drowsy. He continued staring out at the sea, awaiting a response.

Puella Magi Madoka Magicka is an awesome, feel-good, cutesy anime. You should watch it!
Saul hadn't liked journey on the boat, it wasn't that he disliked the sea or sailing. It was just that the ceiling of the interior of the boat was not high enough. At least he heard from the captain that they were only one more day away from the island, only one more day before the adventure began. He had been sleeping inside the boat, and after an uncomfortable night where he did not get quite enough sleep he walked out onto the deck of the boat.
The morning air was crisp and clean, Saul took a deep breath as soon as he was outside. His heavy footsteps caused the boards to creak as he walked. It was quite early in the morning, the sun was just about to rise. There was one other outside already, Saul hadn't really talked to anyone while he was onboard the ship so he didn't know this person's name. They greeted him without turning, their voice sounding quite flat. Perhaps they were tired, it was still early in the morning.
"Good morning" came Saul's deep voice.
He gazed out over the ocean, staring out to the horizon. There was a shape, an island undoubtedly. Perhaps this was the destination, the place where the adventure would begin. Excitement and anticipation grew within him as the ship sailed. It shouldn't be much longer before the passengers of this ship tried to recover some precious artefact belonging to their employer.

John was napping on the deck of the ship. By this age he was very used to being on boats, so this was really nothing new. It felt almost odd, though, because for the first time he wasn't fishing with his caretaker. He woke up in the mood that most teenagers are in when they take naps, and was very disorientated. His mouth tasted like drool, and he had a slight headache. He wondered why he ever took naps in the first place, but nonetheless he generally didn't get much sleep because he liked to practice his spells, which he was quite bad at due to self teaching.
It was nice out. As warm as you could get in the ocean too, and he was surrounded in his favorite smell of saltwater. His home was by an ocean, and he could never feel more comfortable anywhere else. He heard voices further up on the deck, and looked out over the side of the ship. He could make out a small land mass out in the distance, maybe the place they were being sent. He had in fact been told they were to arrive soon.
He got bored, and decided to join in the others conversation. He did, in fact have questions about their arrival, so he decided that he should ask now. He just hoped they wouldn't ignore him like most other people here because of how young he was. He walked up to the 2 men who had unique appearances compared to the mostly human enviroment he was raised in.
"Mornin' fellas." He stifled a yawn as he leaned on the fence of the ship.
Tak-tha had not slept well. Being from a nomadic tribe, he had never stayed in one place for such a long time. Even the life of an adventurer was not so stationary as this. Tak-tha had learned what humans knew as cabin fever was the hard way. He began to go slightly crazy being sedentary for so long. Tak-tha awoke in the crowsnest of the ship. He had no idea how he got up there but he was there now and he had to get down. But, before he did that, he took a moment to admire the day.
The sun shone down upon the sea causing the warm sea to smell of salt. This was a smell that Tak-tha had gotten used to since he left home, but he had not yet become desensitized to the scent. Tak-tha looked down to the ocean below. He could see land from here. The ship must be less than a day out from land. Tak-tha looked forward to getting off the ship and onto some dry land like that of his homeland.
Tak-tha grabbed ahold of some of the netting that held up the sails and began to climb down, his four arms each grabbing different ropes in order to help him keep his balance. With the speed of a cockroach climbing up a wall, Tak-tha made quick work of the netting and was soon on deck. There, he saw 3 people there. He walked up behind one of them and said, "The dark sun shines bright upon us today."

John turned and looked at the strange lookin.... pebehind him. Ever since he joined this crew tthings stranger than he'd ever imagined in his 15 years were being proven real. the man said something that took him a few seconds to comprehend. He knew he Was from a different place than john had lived in, but what is 'the dark Sun?' perhaps he didn't understand it because he was too young, but probably also in part that he had no real education, so he knew nothing of other culture.
"Same to you, I guess?" He said it seeming a little bit rude, but not intentionally, "Hey Mister, what's the 'dark sun' mean?" This showed he wasn't rude, but that instead he had that naivety of any other person his age being placed in front of something they have no knowledge of.
Tak-tha looked down at the young man who had spoken. Throughout his voyage, he had occasionally noticed the young man on his ship but he had never spoken to him. Kindly, Tak-tha answered the young man's questions. "In my homeland, the sun is a harsh and deadly creature. Because of that, we know it as kraket'kra," Tak-tha made a series of clicking noises using his mandibles, "this translates into your common tongue as 'the dark sun'. It is typically unkind to wish anybody to be under the dark sun for it brings death. I understand you had no idea what it means so I will not hold it against you. What I said only means that the sun is bright and harsh today."

((would you describe your class more, please? Seems a bit overpowered, high damage, high stamina, with no discernible downsides, aside from a lack of armor, but thats negated by a thri-kreen exoskeleton. Also, whats Chatkcha?))
((Okay, thanks for the explination. Accepted, then.))
((Oh, Monk was the word I was looking for for the rouge-cleric sub-class. I feel stupid.))

((I personally think the class of Avenger would make a better rogue-cleric sub-class.))
Equipment: an iron longsword, a large kite-shaped shield and his armour
Other: Dungeon Map

((Accepted! Nice app.))
((From what i can tell, you're a vigilante. Assasins don't cast spells. You're accepted if you're a Vigilante.))
Other: A dungeon map? WHERE?!
