Emoli caught the berry that had been thrown to him, still unsure why. After a quick check on his surroundings, he remembered that he should probably try to find a way out of the rain. He looked around again, pondering whether he should try to leave the city and try to head out of the area being rained on, or take shelter somewhere until the rain went away.
The Heracross bulldozes its way full-force, straight into the Hippowdon as it lets out its rasping yawn, taken by surprise the lumbering hippo falls on to its side. "Hippowdon, enough. Return!" The Hippowdon let out a disgruntled huff as it returned, clearly not taking notice of the damage it had taken. "Okay then, time for my next pokemon! Go King!" The pokeball the leader had been been holding was thrown into the air, a toned shriek filled the air as a Nidoking was formed from red light. "You know the drill!"
As Nidoking appeared it immediately scattered toxic spikes across the arena. "Kiing." The referee on the side of the field repeated some obviously rehearsed lines. "Now that a Pokemon has fainted, both players may freely switch between their remaining Pokemon, a reminder that a total of three Pokemon may be used in any given gym battle in the Altrue Gardens gym." "Alright, let's do this! Nidoking take him down!"
The sandstorm encircling the field continues to rage on.
This won't do... I'll try to wrap this up quickly before Ceros faints.
"Ceros, return!" He pulled the sleepy pokémon into its pokéball. "Take a brief rest, huh?" Pocketing the pokéball, he turned his attention to the gym leader. Glide would be too slow to begin with but I might be able to finish this up quickly with a nice, quick attack. "Looks like we'll have to take a risk," he said, smiling. He threw out a pokéball which opened and expelled a silverish Metagross with a strange gem placed on its head. "We're going all out! Glide, ready?" The pokémon nodded and the boy raised his arm, where there was a strange armband with a similar yet smaller gem on it. The boy put two fingers on it and the pokémon started to glow, as well as creating what looked like a bridge between the two. When the light was cleared, the pokémon seemed to have changed in shape and number of limbs. It was slightly above the ground but not enough to avoid ground moves. With Tough Claws and its incredible speed, we must outspeed it. The Nidoking is probably a strong and sturdy pokémon but Glide's mega form should do quite a bit of damage with a super effective hit... "Don't give them time to move! Zen Headbutt!"
The Mega Metagross launched itself forward with speed much greater than heracross' when it was using megahorn, right towards the Nidoking.
The riled up Nidoking jumps forwards to take on the zen headbutt with his own skill. "Superpower! Now" Nidoking, enduring the Psychic prowess of the Metagross makes what is his attempt at ramming full force into its foe but the psychic energy is too much and he is turned away from Metagross, flinching and fainting in the process. "Nidoking! No, return." Des returns Nidoking to its pokeball with a *click* and quickly switches over to another one. "Okay, this is it, my final pokemon of the match! Go, Flygon!"
The leader tosses his final pokeball into the air and a Flygon materializes above the arena. "You're pretty good, but we're not going to give up that easily! Flygon, feint attack!" The Flygon from its position in the air disperses into nothing, materializing via sheer speed beside the Mega-Metagross and hitting it with it's weak but precise attack. As Flygon reappeared the sandstorm began to subside. "Already Hmm?" The Torterra Des was standing on gave a shake, sand rolling out of its foliage.
"Glide, are you alright!?" Edge yelled out. We can't win this with brute strength... If we hadn't mega-evolved, that could've done a lot more damage. We need to be careful with this one. The pokemon gave a grunt, nodding. "Alright... Come back for now," he said, recalling the pokémon into its pokéball. He looked down at Darwin and smiled. "It's your turn. Get 'im!" The Togepi nodded and ran to the field, getting the poisoning from the spikes. "You know the drill. Dazzling Gleam!"
The pokémon started to glow and shot the beam of energy towards the Flygon, losing a bit of its health in the process. Hang in there.
"Not yet you don't! Flygon, Sandstorm!" Flygon spun vertically whipping up a sandstorm and disappearing among the debris. "Like I said, we're not going down without a fight! Get ready to use Dragon Tail!" Flygon's tail sharpened, gaining black-blue flames and a shiny gleam to it which was visible even through the sandstorm. "Are you ready for this?" The Leader was clearly excited by the battle, stamping on Torterra who barely noticed as it ate a part of a nearby garden. Flygon began to race towards its foe.

The one referred to previously as "5" kicked the dirt as he trudged along the dusty path, avoiding the thick grass that grew on the sides, not wanting any weak Pokemon to attack him. "5" had never really liked having to go on patrol, sure the group had its moments, but this was just boring. He stopped momentarily to watch a Slowpoke make its way across the path in a slow crawl, it really wasn't that interesting but it was an excuse to not be walking. Soon after a family of Ducklett crossed, then some Spearow flew by to start picking at crumbs that someone had left behind. By this point "5" was sitting on the path watching the Pokemon do their stuff around the path's edges, a couple of bicyclists passed but aside from that no one of interest came by. "I always get stuck with the boring tasks."
Yes! He's going for a dragon tail! "Darwin, stand your ground!" As the Flygon was getting closer to the degree it would be nigh impossible to change the course of action, Edge yelled. "When he uses Dragon Tail, use Encore!" Hehe! Fairy and steel types have a good advantage against dragon attacks. The only worry I have is finishing this quickly. The Togepi grinned as well as the opponent was moving towards it, using the move Encore to lock the Flygon's choices of moves down to Dragon Tail.
Des grinned. "It's too late, obviously someone hasn't been reading up on their moves!" As dragon tail lands Darwin is thrown back into its pokeball and another Pokemon is dragged out. "When dragon tail lands it drags out another pokemon!" Des pointed towards Edge dramatically. "You should have dodged while you had the chance." Des obviously enjoying the moment smirked, waiting to see which of the two battered pokemon would be dragged out onto the battle field.

"No fun." #5 kicked the dirt, obviously he had been expecting to run into some troublesome trainer along the way, but his patrol had gone off without a hitch. "I guess i should wait around here for a bit, just to make sure." He looked towards the far end of the town where the lake was situated. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to go look at the lake..." He looked at the sole pokeball hanging by his waist, his trusted partner in crime.
Heracross flew out of its pokéball, now poisoned. Damn... "Ceros, use megahorn," Edge ordered. "Concentrate on dealing damage! When he attacks, you'll be okay!" I can use this to my advantage. A smirk curled up on the boy's lips as he devised his plan. Darwin hadn't taken any damage from the dragon type move, being a fairy type. The next time Darwin came out, he would definitely be able to deal some damage to the Flygon. Not to mention Glide was still conscious. "Go for it!"
