Aaron was walking home with the waterlogged mess of paper that used to be his books. He sighed before throwing the books away into a nearby bin. The spell he had cast wore off and his arm ceased to glow. Just my luck he thought, my light spell wore off, it's still raining and it is getting late. He wished that he had the foresight to bring an umbrella as he continued on his way.
Aaron was walking by an alley when he heard voices. He couldn't quite make them out over the constant drone of the rain but it made him curious. He had a habit of trying to investigate things he didn't understand, it was that which made him attempt study the monuments in the first place. Quietly he moved to the entrance of the alleyway and tried to make out what the people were saying. He knew he was eavesdropping, it was a habit he really should get rid of.

"Oh thank God. I thought you were a serial killer or something." He seems fairly innocent by the way he speaks. Then again, this could all be a giant act where I'm the one getting mugged. Rob me, just don't kill me. That's what I'll say if he pulls a knife on me. My tone relaxes just a little bit before I continue speaking. "Do you think they had motives, or were they just some random muggers?" I put my hands in my pockets and begin to lean against the wall.

I love how the EO battle themes go on for a couple of minutes like normal and then after a while they are just like 'Ah nobody's going to be in a normal battle for this long anyway, fack it, GUITAR SOLOS!' Cracks me up.
Aaron heard the people talking in the alleyway. It was hard to make out what they were saying, he heard the words 'killer', 'motives' and 'muggers'. Whoever these people were Aaron knew he should be careful. If the words he overheard were anything to go by then he would be in trouble if they found out he was listening. What should I do? What should I do? he thought. His apathetic face masked the fear he felt inside. He peeked around the corner to see what was going on.
The young man gave him a strange look. "I think they just wanted some money," he said. "They pulled out knives and approached me, saying I would be worth more dead since I told them I didn't have any money..." He glanced at the face appearing behind the wall for a moment but he ignored it. "But I... I guess it's all good now..."
Surprisingly, making a cult was rather easy. Shida already knew where some warlocks hung out and, told them about some fake god named Varsiolen, a name he made up on the fly. He managed to convince them that Shida was a prophet of the mighy Varsiolen, our creator. Through enough lies, Shida managed to convince the eight mages there to come with him to worship our lord, Varsiolen. Shida was both delighted, and a bit terrified, at how easy it was to make a cult. He also bought an abandoned warehouse and designated it as their place of worship. He would need more though. At least a hundred cultists were required for there to be enough magic energy for the ritual. It would take a while but, it was a start. A start on the pathway to Shida's dream. Immortality.
Aaron caught a few more words from the people in the alley, he was starting that he had stumbled across some sort of crime syndicate. What should I do? Should I call he authorities? What if I'm wrong? he thought. He leaned in closer to try to hear more. "What is happening here?" he whispered to himself, "Please let me be wrong." He could see two people, but he couldn't make out their faces. He was at the mouth of an alley, listening to two people who may or may not be criminals with rain falling on his head. Unsurprisingly he was not very happy, he was just hoping that they won't try to kill him.
I really do apologize for my lack of presence. In return... well, it's about to go down.))

My face got somewhat grim as the sky continued to get ever darker. The clouds were no longer traveling in uniform direction - no, now they were swirling as a dark whirlpool of clouds in the sky that stretched for dozens of miles in every direction from the center point, effectively blanketing the entire city in a massive shadow. The winds were picking up rapidly, and in a matter of moments it was knocking over mailboxes and garbage bins, ripping small branches off nearby trees, and blowing debris through the air like a massive leaf blower. As the wind got fiercer and fiercer, the clouds took on a red tint. And then complete silence.
Only a brief moment of solace before the real storm.
A brilliant yellow light exploded in the distance, where a towering monument once stood. The light washed over the entire city before it faded. In that brief moment, power exploded inside of me like I was in hugging distance of a monument. When the light faded, the monument was gone.
"Oh crap" were the only words that came to mind.
In mere seconds the city was awash with chaos. Hideously deformed monsters poured out into the city where the monument once was, and the sky was a fierce blood-red combined with a gross green color.
"Probably a good idea to run!" I said as I looked at Iris with a rather panic-stricken face.

For a brief moment, Shida felt infinitely more power than was needed for immortality. He couldn't help but smile, the smile a bit more insane and sinister than happy. Shida looked out at the distance, there were... things. He cursed under his breath as he grabbed a backpack and filled it with important notes, a book with a copy of his immortality circle drawn in it, and various other important objects for his goal of immortality. He ran over to a random wall and pushed a dresser out of the way, revealing a hidden door. He ran opened the door and ran into the secret room, where he hid his darker objects. He ran over to a pile of bones and focused his energy. An orb that gave off a sickly green glow and at the same time seemed to absorb all other light near it floated in his hand. Shida placed said hand on a skull and it began glowing a ghostly teal glow.
The pile of bones in the corner floated together and formed a hulking monstrosity, easily twice as tall as Shida and as wide as a car. It was a combination of dozens of bones, slightly misshapen from it's rushed creation. It seemed to wear two canine skulls as shoulder pads and had a large tail. The monstrosity let out a low growl from it's skinless, bull head as it looked at Shida. He grinned at his creation.
The Bone Creature ran into the nearby wall, lowering it's head and smashing a hole in it. Shida followed it outside and began looking around, his Bone Abomination followed Shida as he ran down the street.
Aaron looked up, frightened by what he saw above. He usually stoic exterior faltered due to the sheer horror he saw above him. Whatever caused this must be using dark magic. Forgetting about the people in the alleyway he exclaimed, "This is bad, extraordinarily bad. I've got to get out of here!" He turned away from the alley and began running. He wasn't sure where, but he knew he couldn't stay here. He muttered a spell under his breath. The shadows around him drew neared until they covered him, they then faded leaving him completely invisible. In this state he kept running and ended up near his apartment.
Aaron ran inside his apartment, picking up a bag and filling it with whatever he thought would be useful. He picked up some clothes, bread, a book, some pencils, a notepad, a raincoat and a few coins. Slinging the bag over his shoulder he ran out again onto the street, his invisibility spell still active and now covering his bag too.
After narrowly missing the people, and having the car lose whatever little control it had left, I ended up crashing the thing into a street light, and barely managed to get out of the car before Cindy tried to maul me. I quickly closed the door, and backed away from the car, and towards the people, albeit by accident. Okay... she should be contained, now... I think for a moment as I see Cindy try to claw her way out of the car. That, brought my attention towards the fact that she was actually growing claws... claws that looked similar to mine... I shake the thought, and end up mumbling "Cindy... why'd it have to be you?" to myself. Of course, it was more than likely that someone else heard it, though, I didn't even notice anyone else around until I turned my head to see them... for some reason, they appeared to be talking about houses, or something. "Ah... um... sorry about that whole car thing. Ya see... my wife kinda went crazy." I then say to the passers-by, as if that would get them to forgive me. I then take out my cell phone, however... yup, just as I thought, out of battery.
Without a cell phone, I would have to ask this group if they could help me, though, with the fire that was burning next to them, that seemed somewhat unlikely. As I had nothing else to do, I took out my wallet and looked at that old picture. It was of myself, Chris, and Cindy while we were visiting Yosemite. The actual picture was taken right in front of the Yosemite falls, and the three of us were smiling, as if this was going to simply be the first of many vacations that we took as a family... how wrong we were. My wife went crazy, and my son recently sacrificed himself to save my life, but, what kind of life is this? I finally decide that the picture was starting to bring about some bad feelings and put it away, with me now just standing there, as if I was awaiting a response from someone. I could still hear Cindy's currently failed attempts at escaping from the car, and remembered that no more than an hour ago, she was still my loving wife. The thought that she had somehow become a monster started to depress me again. I only barely managed to cheer up on the thought that there might be a way of curing her, and manage at least not-depressed looking face... not that anyone would be able to tell just due to the fact that I'm not human.
((and so I get ignored.. it's going to be a little difficult to react without a reaction.))

Everything became quiet. Somethings wrong, my spell should last for several more hours. For a moment, I felt more powerful than a druid of my degree should feel. Than any druid, no, sorcerer should feel. What could give off so much magical energy? "This is not natural." I say this as I peer out of the alley and discover a horrifying sight. These, things, are pouring into the city streets, Looking ready to kill. And the monument is gone. I look back at the boy standing in front of me, my face eliminating all emotion.
"We are probably going to die if we split up. So I suggest we escape as a team, rather then getting murdered by those things." My voice shows great signs of peril, unlike my stony expression. Should I really trust an absolute stranger? I mean what could go wrong. My head begins to fill with a million scenarios in which something goes wrong. Great, now I'm going to die on an empty stomach.

But I'm not going to let this roleplay die so soon. We will make this work.))

As I looked on in horror at the monsters that were now pouring out of the city, I see, out of the corner of my eye, hundreds of military aircraft that were fully armed and loaded to take down the monsters. If they couldn't stop the monsters, they could at least hold them off.
I looked over at the... erm, creature, that walked up to us and apologized, and shook my head. "Say sorry later. Right now, we need to leave."
I looked over at Iris, grabbed her by the wrist, and began running towards the city limits, even though they were several miles away.

I need to get out of the city Aaron thought as military aircraft flew overhead. He didn't really know where the city limits were, but he reasoned the opposite direction to the bright light in the distance. He let his invisibility spell disappear as he ran away from the light and the creatures pouring into the streets. He ran past the alleyway where he overheard the people talking, he considered trying to escape with them. He would usually not think of this but the idea of safety in numbers was quite appealing.
Just as soon as I finished apologizing, everyone seemed to be running away from something. I turn towards where everyone was looking before they started running, and notice monsters simply pouring out of some area, and filling the city. I ignore the fact that Cindy seemed to be busting out of the car, and join everyone in running away from all of the weird monstrosities that... almost reminded me of the thing that had attacked my wife earlier. I shake that thought, and decide not to dwell on it as the monsters continue running around the place, attacking anything that they could... and soon enough, Cindy, who now greatly resembled me, just, more evil looking, was giving chase to us, as if we were her prime targets. I continue on, following this group of people who I almost run over, one of whom was now being dragged by the other. Yeah, I might not have known their names, but, they seemed like people who I could trust, after all, they didn't even so much as flinch at my monster-like appearance when they first saw me, and that was more than I could say about most people. What could have caused this sudden monster outbreak? I ask myself as I continue to keep up with that group of people, making sure that I don't get too far ahead and lose them by slowing myself down occasionally.
Shida's Bone Construct charges forward ramming it's horns into one of the greenish things, this abomination was much faster than the others, though, Shida wasn't sure why. The Bone Construct grabbed the greenish monster's head and ripped it off before swiping it away. The Bone Construct let out a screeching sound that reminded Shida of bones scraping against each other. "Alright, Let's get a move on." Shida said to his Bone Construct, he debated raising these... things but, decided against it. He wouldn't bother with such weak risen creatures. He looked around, his Bone Construct standing still like a sentinel.
Shida noticed a group of people headed towards him, his Bone Construct pounded it's skeletal fists together and let out another bone-scraping growl. "Where are you all headed?" Shida yelled to the group.
I looked over at the white-haired man who was being followed by a giant skeleton beast. "Anywhere but here! I'd like to make it out of the city in one piece, if possible, so we're heading towards the city limits. Join us or don't, just don't stop moving," I said. I was about to continue moving again, but the feathered freak's wife was chasing us with a ravenous look on her beaked face. Sparks flickered between my fingers, and I shot a blazing bolt of lightning straight at her.

Aaron, abandoning his safety in numbers plan, left the entrance to the alleyway and ran along the street. He wasn't sure where he was going but he needed to go somewhere. In the distance he saw a group of people moving somewhere. They might know what to do and where to go he thought with an air of vain optimism. As he approached the group he saw a strange creature and a giant skeleton. Now that he was close to the group, he began second guessing his plan. However, this was interrupted by a bolt of lightning being shot at some monsters that were chasing them. Making up his mind he joined the group in running from the monsters. "What's happening? Where are we going?" he asked the closest member of the group.
The boy nodded at the druid as he strung his bow, his hands shaking. "Good idea," he said as he finished up and nocked an arrow on it.
He looked back and saw a strange creature approaching. The arrow started to glow and the tip shone wildly. He shot the arrow at the beast's head. Normally, it should've bounced off harmlessly but it pierced its skin and sprayed its blood on the wall. ! Mom and Aria are still in the city! "I'm sorry but I... I need to check on my family!" He ran past the druid without waiting for a reaction.
"Alright." Shida said as the Skeletal Construct swiped it's hand at the possessed-looking woman that everyone seemed to be attacking. It gripped her head, raising her up to it's eye level. Shida couldn't care less about the creature but, the others wanted it dead. The Constructs Skeletal hand threw the body carelessly at a nearby building.
