DISCLAIMER: Some of the ideas for mechanics in this game were taken from games such as "Defending the Outposts". Credit to the creators of all threads I have taken ideas from.
DEATHMATCH
In this game, you must battle to the death against your fellow forum members! Here's how it works:
OBJECTIVE: Be the last man standing amongst your fellow participating forum members.
ROUNDS: Each round, players fight and have the opportunity to win. If you die, you're out for the round. The round ends when a single player remains; that player is the winner. I will give time between rounds for players to get everything in order. Players can check in each round, simply by stating that they would like to "check in". Those who check in will participate in the next round. You can also check in during the first turn of a round. Those who do not check in or miss the window will be spectators, who can influence the game.
TURNS: A turn starts when I update the thread. A log of damage done, items used, and things that can be picked up and used will be found there. Players can perform one action a turn. If a day goes by and the thread has not been updated, players may perform an additional action.
HEALTH: Each player has 100 health at the start of the game. Health depletes as players attack you (damage will change depending on the number of players). When your health reaches zero, you're dead, and you become a spectator, so you don't lose all influence on the game. More on that later.
ARMOR: Armor takes damage before your health does. Basically an extension of your life.
MONEY, SHOP AND ITEMS: Players can buy items at the shop any time after checking in, including mid-round. Each new player starts with $100. Money is earned by killing other players, winning the game and simply not dying. A kill earns you $100, survival bonuses earns you $50, and winning earns you $250. I will also occasionally drop items and item crates, which players can pick up rather than attacking.
SPECTATORS, SUPPORT AND CHEERS: Spectators can influence the game. A spectator can "support" a player. When a player has received enough support, I will send them specifically an item crate. Spectators can also "cheer" for players. When a player has received enough cheers, they will be healed slightly. Players have a 5-turn cooldown on reception of cheers and support; each has a separate cooldown. Spectators can only support or cheer once every turn.
SHOP ROOM AND R&D: Have an idea for an item? R&D it (basically just suggest it, state the name, effect, price, and uses/health)! I will accept or deny items for the shop, and will balance them if need be. Players can also vote to remove items from the shop. Items are automatically rejected if the shop is full. I may expand the shop depending on the popularity of this thread. If you feel an item currently in the shop is unbalanced, you may R&D it with changes that you feel balance the item. If the R&D is accepted, your new item shall replace the one already in the shop.
NUKE FROM ORBIT: An extended period of inactivity will result in you being nuked from orbit. You die, you lose your items, and you are wiped from the player list as well as the bank. If you specifically request to be preserved because you know that you will be gone for a time, just ask, and I'll freeze you, safe from being nuked.
LONE WOLF MODE: If you're ganged up on (I'll determine whether or not this is the case, but don't worry, I''m sensible) and your health is/drops below 50, you will enter Lone Wolf Mode (LWM). In LWM, you are extremely dangerous. Damage you deal is multiplied 2X, damage you take is multiplied by 0.5X, attacks towards you fail more often, and you siphon health from attacks (you gain life equal to the damage you dealt). The catch? You can only target the people ganging up on you. However, any new attackers will be marked as legitimate targets. Once they are dead, LWM ends. You will not enter LWM under any circumstances if you are a viable target for someone in LWM.
RULES: Don't disrupt the thread, no OP attacks (it won't matter, you'll only do a certain amount of damage anyway), and R&D items don't need to be real or modern. Also, just a note; strange things may happen for strange reasons.
PLAYERS MAY BEGIN CHECKING IN!
I'll start the game after a few people have checked in. I may check in myself.
