You suddenly become aware. You are sitting in a rather uncomfortable seat, a harness keeping you locked in place.
In front of you are several displays and controls. Prominently, there are two control sticks, what appears to be a throttle control, a Radar Scope, and a red button surrounded by a clear plexiglass case. The button is surrounded by a yellow-and-black striped plate.
Under the control panels, you can feel three footpedals.
You are also wearing a helmet. in the blast visor, you can clearly see what appears to be a HUD of some sort.
Out of the glass surrounding you, you see a strange, bipedal vehicle.
You decide not to do that. Besides, even if you were to try to smash these controls, it probably wouldn't work.
You do, however, begin feeling the controls and trying to figure out what they do. In your exploration, you accidentally discover the control sticks have triggers.
Accidentally, meaning you accidentally pressed one.
Upon pressing the trigger in, two lances of red light jet out to roughly the position of the crosshair on your HUD. Smoke and sparks emanate from the areas of impact.
The strange vehicle in front of you lashes out with lasers apparently mounted in it's "arms". Then, another laser slams into your left arm from somewhere to your left.
The small humanoid diagram on your HUD changes colors; the percentile changes to 90%
You begin to hear static through your helmet, probably a speaker or headset.
The second control stick's trigger fires missiles.
Some of the missiles miss completely, while other slam into the enemy 'mech. Your HUD changes to show that your SRM-5s are recycling, but that your Medium Lasers are ready to fire again.
The static in your helmet begins to form into barely-audible human voices.
I'd already made the image before the last two posts. And this is the last update for tonight.
You fire your Medium Lasers into the 'mech in front of you, and rotate the control sticks to the left, hoping to twist to the source of the other laser.
The first enemy 'mech lashes out with it's lasers, scoring a major hit to your right arm and causing the meter to the right of your target information screen to skyrocket. The air in the cockpit gets significantly hotter. The percentile below the diagram (which apparently shows damage to your various limbs) drops to 60%.
On a hill directly in front of you is a smaller 'mech. You're still locked on to the other 'mech, so you can't get any information on this one's weaponry.
You finally manage to switch your lock to the smaller 'mech.
The smaller 'mech (Designation "Uller" by your targeting computer) fires a cyan-colored laser at you. This one has a considerably greater "umpf" to it, and almost knocks your 'mech over.
Just after impact, a synthesized voice chimes in. "Damage Critical. Eject. Eject. Eject.", Repeating "Eject" over and over.
The Damage Indicator on your HUD changes to reflect the severe damage you've sustained.
The red button under the plexiglass begins to blink.

What do you do?
You decide it would be best to figure out what the hell this thing is before doing anything. Too bad you have no ****ing idea where to begin.
You begin to hear pings coming from beneath you, just as small muzzle flashes erupt from two points beneath the strange vehicles "head"
You decide not to do that. Besides, even if you were to try to smash these controls, it probably wouldn't work.

Raise my dragons please!!
No "battlearmor" is in sight.

Return "fire" at the enemy mech.
Shake fist angrily.
or fire the lasers again

AND IMPROVE THE DAMN SIGNAL
Fire EVERYTHING.
then aim at it and do as stated above
EDIT: Oh, then eject the bomb at the enemy and fly your mecha away!
