THE CURRENT STORY:
PROLOGUE: NEWBIES ON THE RISE
You joined the red team, and were quickly sent off to the training facility. Along the way, a small squad of blue troops attacked you. You easily fought them off, and then you made it to the facility. You went through the "extra-accelerated" training program... It was quite rigorous. Then, you chased down a group of blue troops! Turns out they were carrying an important artifact! After that, you went after a large supply group, along with a large cadre of red troops! As you were about to fight the boss, one of the allied commanders defected! The blue troops wanted to talk to you, and while some of the players wanted to give peace a chance, Admiral Yorlu interrupted! He gave you bad tactical commands, but left the field after you openly defied him! He punished by giving you some "special training"...which was easily passed thanks to a super-attack from Talist! But then, it turns out that a prototype made by the blues was completed, and was rampaging through the server...
CHAPTER 1: TOTAL WAR
A group of blue troops is attacking a red fortress! You had to command generic red soldiers to stop them! After you successfully stopped the blue generics, tons more showd up! So the normal players arrived, and are now killing things! However, during the fight, someone used an attack that was TOO ORIGINAL, resulting in a trial conducted by the intergalactic court! The players only managed to get a reduced sentencing, and then had to go on an epic quest to repair a tear in the fabric of the universe! They just finished it, and now things have returned to normal! However, it turns out that in the meantime, a giant robot constructed by blue troops was complete!
After a long battle, you managed to destroy the robot's regeneration arm and break inside, whereupon you defeated the traitor-turned Fighter Warrior(part of the trio of the ultimate overspecialized fighters, the Fighter Warrior, Tank Warrior, and Speed Warrior). However, once that was complete, you once again had to use generic troops to fight against an elite blue squad, only they were attacking "the golem place", a location where blue-aligned golems, designed to restore equality on the server in the event blue began to lose! You failed to hold out, even after the Tank Warrior showed up! The golems began to move across the server, a massive amount of them built up after so long...
While this was going on, some of the enemy blue commanders had been telling you things, and you decided to question a high-ranking red official about it! He rudely admitted that what they had told you was true- the red team had originally used hacking to get in the position they are now, and may or may not have a special plan for the server once it is entirely under their control!
With this hanging over your head, you set out on a mission to retrieve the seventh of the eight artifacts(six of which are in red possession, one of which is in blue possession), and you succeed in finding it! Egglord, who had also given you a seemingly-normal mysterious black box, attempted to take it from you, but you chose to defect to the blue team, and beat him back! Finally, hoping you weren't too late, you sped to the blue base in a desperate attempt to save it!
Unfortunately, you failed to save it. You fought off tons of red troops on your way to the top of the skybase, and ultimately defeated Yorlu with the help of the Blue Leader, Moniker, but were ultimately forced to attempt to flee when ******, the Red Leader, showed up. Unfortunately, the red army killed you on the way out, plunging your artifact deep into the lava lake at the center of the map, and leaving you helpless to watch as red finally won the years-long war with blue...
INTERMISSION 1: A MYSTERIOUS(?) THREAT:
The TIW server has been down a week. With no idea what to do, you decided to play on other servers until it comes back up. First, you and the rest of the group played on a server called H-Craft. Turns out it was a mysterious cult, which attempted to use you as a sacrifice to initiate a summoning ritual! However, you were able to sabotage the redstone beforehand, and prevented the ritual from occurring. After that, you went to the "trial server", a dungeon, to kill enemies and get treasure... but you were rudely interrupted by a bunch of spambots, who were reportedly also attacking other servers!
Finally, the TIW server 2.0 came back up...
CHAPTER 2: UNANSWERED QUESTIONS:
You started out automatically assigned to Magenta team, but you spawned in the Lime territory! Luckily, you were able to hijack their main ship, and take it back to base. Once there, you met with Nils, a blue commander you fought in Chapter 1! Turns out, he was designated as the leader of Magenta! With no knowledge of where the others are, you decided to do missions to advance your team until you were able to find a more sure course of action! You started by rescuing a large group of magenta troops that were being pursued by Light Grey troops, and then, you attacked a base orange stole from your own territory!
After that, a suitable target opened up... Yellow Territory! You invaded it with the Magenta army, with the goal of stealing the wool! After a long battle over their territory, you are now ready to attack the castle!
Reading the topic can give you much more insight to the story specifics!
1: BASICS
Basically, you're all players on a minecraft server! And you're fighting enemies! Your goal is to kill all the enemies, by reducing their HP to 0! You do this by attacking them with everything you have. Don't feel restricted by the setting, you can use ANY type of attack to murder your enemies, and the more creative/original it is, the MORE damage it will do! Their is no theoretical limit to the damage you can accomplish with any given attack, so go wild! Here's some examples:
Coal_Sponge: I summon my FLAMING orbital space station to enter the atmosphere and ram itself into the warrior!
TT2012: 67 damage to the warrior! Warrior burned!
Also, you can inflict a huge variety of effects with your actions. Heal allies, stun enemies...just so long as your intended effect isn't blatantly OP, you can expect it to succeed! This game allows you plenty of freedom with your actions! Don't feel restricted by anything!
Okay, going a LITTLE BIT more advanced:
You have a health bar, which enemies will attack and try to reduce to 0. Their are many types of enemies, each with different attributes. You have an MD value, which describes the Minimum Damage any of your attacks will do! There USED to be no maximum damage, but it didn't work out, so here are the rules now applied to MD!
ALL ATTACKS will have a damage cap of x10 your MD. This can be broken with spells like Thunder/Freeze, or abilities like Team Fighting, but only to a logical extent(for Thunder, the affected attack could deal up to x40 MD, for example). I will nerf this further if need be.
Attacks can't split to more than three enemies at a time, unless while using a special spell effect, like Poison(which can poison up to 5 enemies, so you can attack 5 enemies with it. The spell seems more useful now, huh?). Of course, certain spells can also hit less enemies at a time... Also, if you split your attack, the damage is split as well. If you use Poison to attack 5 people, you'd do 1/5 the damage you would do if you attacked one person.
Bosses can't take more than half their max health in damage, from ANY attack regardless of buffs. "Stronger" boss tags will have further penalties, to prevent you from wrecking powerful enemies in one hit. Again, I will strengthen this further if need be.
Same goes for enemies, if it comes up.
Here's an example health bar:
Pokefan151: Fighter, level 6: 70/70 HP, XP: 120/225, 13 MD, stone sword(+2 MD) leather armor(+10 HP) (has potion of healing, ready to use)(Flaming destruction: Ready)(Team fighting: 2/4)
Don't know what some of those mean yet? Don't worry, read on!
Before you can start, you'll need to select a class!
2: CLASSES(it might take a while to read, if you want high attack and a good starting class just say "fighter)
Each player and enemy has a class. These classes have different base stats and attributes, as well as different abilities! Carefully consider your choice before choosing! Remember, you can't change the decision once you've made it!
NOTE: Do not select these classes anymore. The game has progressed enough that you can now select the promoted versions of the classes instead.
FIGHTER:
Attack: +++++----
Defense: ++++------
Abilities: Flaming Destruction(l1)(your next attack will do x3 damage and severe burning)
Team fighting(l5)(you can team up with another fighter who also uses this ability, if someone joins you, both attacks deal 4x damage, if not, 2x damage)
Minicrits(l12)(every third attack, you deal x2 damage)
Fighter's Prowess(l120)(You have a permanent x1.5 MD buff)
A simple class, designed for hitting hard and fast. If you have lots of creative attacks, this class will make the best use of them.
TANK:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: +++++++---
Abilities: Mirror shield(l1)(the next two enemies to attack will hit themselves)
Ground slam(l5)(generate a shockwave that stuns up to five enemies and makes your next attack deal x2 damage)
Overprotective spirit(l12)(whenever you guard someone, your MD is multiplied by 1.5)
Bide(l20)(allows you to guard your entire team at once, and any damage you take goes towards MD buffs the next turn! However, there's a good chance you'll die...)
The tank is, of course, a tank. They at first may seem weak, but as things progress, they will perform a needed function as enemy attack increases, and their abilities will turn defense into offense! Note that this class isn't very powerful in the beginning, you should probably wait to select it.
MAGE:
Attack: ++--------
Defense: +++-------
Abilities:
Recharge(l1)(gain x2 mana regeneration for a turn)
Heal field(l5)(use it on any three players next to each other in the player list. Restores 30% of their HP per turn for 4 turns)
Siphon(Allows a mage to regain a small amount of health whenever they attack an enemy, occasionally)
Mage's Prowess(l20)(grants you an additional x2 multiplier on your MD whenever you use magic to attack)
What's that? Magic doesn't exist in Minecraft? Nonsense! Select the mage to have seemingly weak starting damage, but as time goes by your magical abilities. Each player has their own separate spells they learn as they level up, which cost MP to use. MP regenerates slowly, but abilities can speed it up!
SHAMAN:
Attack: +++------
Defense: ++--------
Abilities:
Drain(l1)(next attack by anyone uses all HP taken to restore your health bar. If it fills up, the rest of the HP goes to a teammate)
Sacrifice(l5)(sacrifices 20% of your HP to restore the Mana of yourself or a teammate. The mana restored will be half the HP sacrificed)
Power of Darkness(l12)(Allows you the power of a large variety of dark spirits to infest your body and soul, greatly increasing your MD and HP for 2 turns, but killing you when it's done. Can be used once per mission.)
Mana Buffing(l20)(Allows the shaman to spend up to 20 Mana to increase a spell's power by up to 3x)
Shamans have an entirely different spellset from mages. They rely on status effects to do damage for them and wreak havoc among the enemies. They have a bit of Magikarp power, as they get more cool abilities as time goes by.
PROMOTED CLASSES:
WARRIOR:
Attack: ++++++++++
Defense: +++++-----
Abilities:
????
????
The conclusion of the Fighter path, the warrior is essentially a far stronger version of the fighter.
MAGIC KNIGHT(FIGHTER VERSION):
Attack: ++++++++--
Defense: +++++-----
A different version of the fighter, this class is for those who like to be able to have power in both physical and magical attacks.
ARMOR KNIGHT:
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: ++++++++++
Abilities:
Quad-Guarding(l5)(allows you to guard 4 people at one time)
????
The Armor Knight is the logical conclusion of the tank path. It's an extreme version of the tank, possessing far greater power and defense than the normal tank.
MAGIC KNIGHT(TANK VERSION):
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: ++++++++--
The tank's answer to the fighter's magic knight, this class's own abilities are the same as the fighter version, however, it has different basic stats, level up gains, and basic abilities(since it inherits all those from the tank class).
SAGE:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: +++++-----
Abilities:
????
????
A more powerful version of the mage, this class is the master of basic spellcasting.
ALCHEMIST:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: ++++------
Abilities:
????
????
The other option for mages, this class still retains some powerful spellcasting abilities, but is much more focused on support, with the ability to brew potions that heal allies and inflict enemies. Gets more powerful later on, as they unlock extremely effective potions.
DRUID:
Attack: ++++++----
Defense: ++++------
Abilities:
????
????
The conclusion of the Shaman path, the Druid is an offense-oriented class that casts powerful spells, many of which can inflict enemies with terrible status effects.
SUMMONER:
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: +++-------
Abilities:
????
????
Like the druid, the Summoner has all the abilities from the shaman, but it also has the power to summon minions to help it in battle. It starts out only able to summon weak minions, but it can eventually summon larger groups of power minions!
ABILITIES EXPLANATION:
You gain abilities as you get stronger. Each ability has its own recharge time, and once its full you can activate it at will, and it doesn't take an action. You can activate as many abilities as you want at the same time, and their effects stack.
Some abilities, such as Power of Darkness, can only be used once per mission. In exchange, they are very powerful.
Other abilities are passives that are always in effect.
As you kill thing, you level up! For more info:
3: LEVELS
Whenever you attack an enemy, heal an ally, or do anything, really, you'll gain XP. This XP, once you gain enough of it, will allow you to level up! As you level up, you gain more stats and abilities(note that stats might vary slightly from player to player). Leveling up is INDIVIDUAL, so high amounts of activity will be rewarded. If you fall behind the curve, you get more XP from attacking higher level enemies, so you can catch up. If you get too far ahead, you'll gain less XP, but it will never stop completely. The max level is 20. Bosses give tons of XP, but its spread among the team, to prevent kill-stealing.
SPELLS AND OTHER INFO BOOK:
This place collects all the spells you learn, as well as other things.
Spells:
Freeze(5 Mana, Mage): Your next attack can freeze up to two targets for two turns, and deals double damage.
Thunder(8 Mana, Mage): Uses a sound wave to supercharge the attack of the next person, making it deal 4x damage.
Lightning(13 Mana, Mage): Your next attack always does EXACTLY 5x your MD, regardless of creativity.
Wind(20 Mana, Mage): Multiplies your MD by 4 and allows you to hit up to five targets.
Poison(5 Mana, Shaman): Your next attack poisons up to five enemies on the field, and does normal damage.
Pestilence(9 Mana, Shaman): Hits up to 3 enemies and afflicts them with 1-3 status effects.
Light Wall(12 Mana, Shaman): Puts up a barrier that ensnares the first enemy to attack it, and cancels their attack. Works on some bosses.
Neutralize(16 Mana, Shaman): Only hits ONE targets, multiplies MD by 4, and afflicts them with 3-5 status effects.
Green Flare(8 Mana, Magic Knight): Gives a x3 MD buff.
That should be it for the main mechanics.
OTHER THINGS OF NOTE:
You can collect gear to make you stronger. Gear comes in armor and sword, and gives set stat bonuses. Typically, it will be spread evenly among the group. There is also special gear called legendary gear, which gives special effects in addition to normal stats.
When new players join, they'll be given free gear and auto-levels to about a bit below the average strength of the team. This is to keep things fair. Don't worry about joining massively behind!
Some enemies have tags. I'll explain them when they come up. The only one you need to know is the "boss" tag, marking them as a boss. It makes them immune to one-shots and some particularly debilitating status effects.
There are some enemy-only classes. To prevent confusion, I'll make sure they all have a short explanation.
Death means that you must wait a turn to respawn. If all of you are dead at once, that means defeat.
The story melds to your actions. If you are defeated in battle, you will not need to restart the mission, the story will adjust to account for your failure. You will also periodically have the ability to make choices.
You are allowed TWO posts per turn, during which you can do 1 attack, give away items, and use abilities.
The only rules are simple common sense. Don't be a jerk, vulgar, or a troll.
Now, get playing!
TL;DR:
You have health. There are enemies trying to kill you. You can use powerful attacks and abilities to murder everyone, if they're creative enough. You should select the warrior class because it is simple and easy to use, but other more complicated classes might be better if you're willing to look. You level up when you kill things, and you can also collect gear to gain power.
Okay, so, it's time to start! Check the third post for the game mechanics! It appears you've gone just a bit against my expectations and chosen...
RED TEAM!
You and your friends all press the sign for red team, hoping things will turn out well. After all, the starting post implied they had lots of territory holdings. They clearly are the more powerful of the two. Almost immediately, you are teleported into a large building decorated with red wool and stained clay. Plenty of red troops are around. This definitely isn't some nearly-dead server that won't be interesting! In short order, two iron-armor clad mooks rush towards you, and tell you to come with them. They bring you to another soldier with a diamond helmet, who appears to be the commander. He explains to you your first task:
Red commander: Listen up, you newbies! Before you can go on missions to help eradicate the last of the blue threat, you'll need some training.
Pokefan: What do you mean? You can't just throw us right into your "training"!
Red commander: Hmph. We have been working for years to fully size the server, and we've almost finished. If you do well, then you'll be able to help us finish the job. You'll be provided with a stone sword and leather armor at the training facility. Upon completing training and tests, you'll be given iron gear to mark your status. Is that good enough?
Coal_Sponge: Of course! I can't wait!
Twinbuilder: Hmm...
The iron armor soldiers guide you to a simple underground minecart track. All of you get in, and start riding. You head off in what appears to be towards the red castle. It goes uneventfully for a minute or so, when suddenly...
BOOOOM!
The stone wall explodes, and blue troops begin pouring in! Are you going to fight them? A liutenant leads the charge, and she starts issuing commands!
Blue Commander: My name is Nyrah103! And I'll kill all the red troops I have to before I let them trick even MORE newbies into their army! Troops, attack!
Kadoink: What? What do you mean?
Nyrah: Stand by while we take out your "friends", and I'll tell you!
Coal_Sponger: No way! It's CLEAR you aren't the winning team!
Red Fighter 1#: Hey you guys. Help us with these blue mooks and I'll put in a good word for you... Not that we couldn't handle them on our own! These guys don't exactly look well-equipped!
Red Fighter 2#: Not to mention, the experience will help you later!
Nyrah: Grrr... Fighters! In front! Tanks and mages with me!
Looks like you're in a combat engagement! Remember, you have choices... you can help your allies, or not. Your choice. Well...your teammates choice, since the story will always sway to the majority decision in the group.
THE BATTLEFIELD:
Location: Red Minecart Track
Blue forces:
Blue fighter, level 1: 30/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor
Blue fighter, level 1: 30/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor
Blue fighter, level 1: 30/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor
Blue fighter, level 1: 30/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor
Blue fighter, level 3: 42/42, 8 MD, no sword/armor
Red forces:
Red fighter, level 8: 115/115, 20 MD, iron sword(+4 MD) Iron armor(+25 HP)
Red fighter, level 8: 115/115, 20 MD, iron sword(+4 MD) Iron armor(+25 HP)
Other:
None
I'll add an official spellbook and other info catalog to the mechanics explanation post later, but for now, I'll let you know that the shaman's "poison" attack poisons up to five targets on the field. Don't be afraid to ask if you have other questions!
Also, death means you need to wait a turn to respawn. If all of you are dead at once, then you fail the mission. If that happens, you don't restart, the story just adjusts to account for your failure.

I unconvincingly pretend to swallow my sword by moving it behind my mouth and "discreetly" drop it into my other hand. The blue soldiers are still fooled by my magic trick, and ask me to show them more. I pull the sword out from behind my back and say that I made it appear again. Then I reach behind a soldier's ear with a quarter poorly hidden in my palm and pretend to take the the quarter out from his head. The blue soldiers are particularly enamored by this trick, and start clawing at the guy I took the quarter from in the side of the head, hoping to grab some more quarters. When the struggle ends, the soldier is laying on the ground with both sides of his head caved in.

I consider what the blues were saying. I wonder.... Can someone, say, betray your teammates?
Also, I find it ironic that I have the ice spell (coughkinigofthenethercough) so I put that irony to use! I ironically freeze a blue fighter By the way, what's the post limit?
I decide to channel my inner fighter by taking a page from Street Fighter! I tag team with Ryu as we both Hadouken the hell out of an enemy Blue Fighter.
...Ahem. So, I can't quote your posts, so I'm going to put what each person does. I'll figure out a better system later, if there even is one. Any advice is appreciated!
Also, the post limit has two rules: "No double posting" and "max three posts per person". The timeframe doesn't matter if you follow those two.
Fseftr joins as a fighter! He does 5 damage to a blue fighter! +1 XP!
Twinbuilder does 3 damage to three different fighters! +2 XP!
Pokefan becomes a fighter and deals 5 damage to the level 3 fighter! +2 XP!
kadoink deals 22 damage and kills one of the injured blue soldiers! +12 XP!
ManiacMasteR: If you want to do anything special like that, you'd have to PM me so I could plan it far in advance. Typically, people must follow the whims of the team. You deal 6 damage and freezing to two blue fighters! +3 XP!
Twinbuilder does 11 damage to the level 3 fighter! +3 XP!
ENEMY PHASE:
Nyrah: What? They've already almost taken out the fighter unit? Get ready to move in, mages and tanks! We have to subdue those red mooks so we can talk to the blue newbies!
Two fighters are too frozen to do anything! Both remaining fighters team up for a combo! They take a red fighter to a fast food restaurant, where they melt him on a grill, dump various topping on him, put him between two giant poisonous pieces of bread, and then eat him! Together they deal 26 damage! The red fighters, not really feeling the need to go all-out, both slice the unfrozen level 1 blue fighter and kill it! No XP is given for kills done by allied units!
THE BATTLEFIELD:
Location: Red Minecart Track
Blue forces:
Blue fighter, level 1: 21/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor(frozen for 1 more turn)
Blue fighter, level 1: 24/30, 5 MD, no sword/armor(frozen for 1 more turn)
Blue fighter, level 3: 26/42, 8 MD, no sword/armor
Red forces:
Red fighter, level 8: 89/115, 20 MD, iron sword(+4 MD) Iron armor(+25 HP)
Red fighter, level 8: 115/115, 20 MD, iron sword(+4 MD) Iron armor(+25 HP)

I point my sword at one of the blue soldiers from a couple of meters away and wave it at him ineffectually. The soldiers all gather for a hearty laugh at my shenanigans, but they aren't laughing so much any more when a high-velocity stream of bullets flies out of the hilt of my sword. Yes, the hilt.
Darn. TT, if you're having trouble, just do what I do for DTG2: Quote everything, and just manually add the /quote tags. Make sure to put spaces in between the quote boxes or else you won't be able to edit them at all! Keep in mind that if you quote enough posts, the browser will probably crash. For DTG2, I have to quote things in chunks to avoid that. But this forum game doesn't have NEARLY as many posts as DTG2, so you should be able to do it all in one go.
And yes, I agree. The new forums suck. The old forums had bugs of their own, and I'm glad they got fixed, but this should have been in development more. It's an atrocity.
I attack a frozen fighter by firing a thousand snowballs at him! The snowballs alone don't deal much damage, but the knockback pushes him into a pit of spikes!

I hate the new forums, and, TT, never mind. I'll stick with this team.
I get 3 blowtorches, a sandwich, sunblock, the game Half Life, and SCP 666.
SCP 666 is immediately apprehended, I play Half Life while eating the sandwich, put on the sunblock (man is the sun bright! Even though we're indoors....) and burn the BLUE FIGHTERS with the blowtorches.
...Yep!

FIGHTER:
Attack: +++++----
Defense: ++++------
Abilities: Flaming Destruction(l1)(your next attack will do x3 damage and severe burning)
TANK:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: +++++++---
Abilities: Mirror shield(l1)(the next two enemies to attack will hit themselves)
MAGE:
Attack: ++--------
Defense: +++-------
SHAMAN:
Attack: +++------
Defense: ++--------
WARRIOR:
Attack: ++++++++++
Defense: +++++-----
Abilities:
????
????
The conclusion of the Fighter path, the warrior is essentially a far stronger version of the fighter.
MAGIC KNIGHT(FIGHTER VERSION):
Attack: ++++++++--
Defense: +++++-----
A different version of the fighter, this class is for those who like to be able to have power in both physical and magical attacks.
ARMOR KNIGHT:
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: ++++++++++
Abilities:
Quad-Guarding(l5)(allows you to guard 4 people at one time)
????
The Armor Knight is the logical conclusion of the tank path. It's an extreme version of the tank, possessing far greater power and defense than the normal tank.
MAGIC KNIGHT(TANK VERSION):
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: ++++++++--
The tank's answer to the fighter's magic knight, this class's own abilities are the same as the fighter version, however, it has different basic stats, level up gains, and basic abilities(since it inherits all those from the tank class).
SAGE:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: +++++-----
Abilities:
????
????
A more powerful version of the mage, this class is the master of basic spellcasting.
ALCHEMIST:
Attack: ++++------
Defense: ++++------
Abilities:
????
????
The other option for mages, this class still retains some powerful spellcasting abilities, but is much more focused on support, with the ability to brew potions that heal allies and inflict enemies. Gets more powerful later on, as they unlock extremely effective potions.
DRUID:
Attack: ++++++----
Defense: ++++------
Abilities:
????
????
The conclusion of the Shaman path, the Druid is an offense-oriented class that casts powerful spells, many of which can inflict enemies with terrible status effects.
SUMMONER:
Attack: +++++-----
Defense: +++-------
Abilities:
????

I join Red, choose Fighter and wait for TT to type up the story thing.

Also, I find it ironic that I have the ice spell (coughkinigofthenethercough) so I put that irony to use! I ironically freeze a blue fighter By the way, what's the post limit?

I get 3 blowtorches, a sandwich, sunblock, the game Half Life, and SCP 666.
SCP 666 is immediately apprehended, I play Half Life while eating the sandwich, put on the sunblock (man is the sun bright! Even though we're indoors....) and burn the BLUE FIGHTERS with the blowtorches.
...Yep!
