I read Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat" to one of the unknowns. As it would turn out, the unknown knows a cat like Pluto in the story, and proceeds to write an online blog detailing his newly written conspiracy theory, giving me time to hack into his Steam account and trade away all his TF2 hats.

I research the Waterworks Portal Pipe.
Price: $600
Uses: 5
Has an equal chance of expelling water, goo, or nothing. Water does triple minimum attack damage, goo does max attack damage minus minimum attack damage plus poisoning and stunning, and nothing does nothing.
If there is an Unknown with <7hp left, i datacard it.
Otherwise, i throw a deck of cards i-- uh.. borrowed.. --from the Joker at one of the Unknowns.
Unknowns don't have data bank entries, so data cards don't do anything to them. They'll be useful when the first battalion shows up.
4 damage to unknown!
Quick question, what is the post limit per turn? /NULL
One post per turn, unless a day passes and there's still no update. Then you can post another time, one per day without an update. It doesn't have to be 24 hours, either. It just has to be past midnight.

Research accepted, with a price increase.
I don't even know what Titanfall is, so my IMC is just a Contrived Coincidence...
"Wait, Rhyperior, where are you going?"
The Mon runs off the distance.
"Ah, never mind. I'll go get him later..."
I pull out a Walkie-Talkie and speak through it.
"Bring in the prototype tanks!"
A minute later, a SV-001 from the game Metal Slug is airdropped at the facility entrance. It proceeds to fire its twin Vulcans at the Unknowns
If you don't know about Titanfall, maybe you'll recognize the title given to it by the community, the "CoD killer". But Titanfall kinda died. So, irony.
Rhyperior is scared of the unknowns...

The team is brought back to the US military base. There, they meet up with McKnight.
"Team, we have quite an odd situation on our hands," he says, looking to a monitor. "We're seeing video game enemies running around in the streets."
Bio looks at McKnight in disbelief and says, "Are you sure you haven't just lost your marbles?"
"See for yourself," McKnight offers. The team complies and looks at the monitor. Their jaws drop at the sight before them.
They see Minecraft mobs running around, attacking people, breaking shop windows, tearing off car doors, and yelling at trees.
"Holy crap," Engie says to no one in particular.
"And that's not the worst of our problems," McKnight says, switching the monitor view. "They're attacking the White House. I think you know this is utterly terrible."
"We have to kill them all." Bio states. McKnight simply nods in response.
"I think you'll need some old friends," McKnight says, handing TT, fseftr, and Stickcrafter a red and white ball. They each call out their familiar friends.
"Rhy!" Rhyperior shouts, hugging Stickcrafter.
"Vanha!" Carvanha cries, floating over to fseftr.
"Scoli!" Scolipede says happily, nuzzling TT.

2 for attack, so that we can sometimes instakill unknowns.

New research: Crossbow bolts. $100. 1 use. Restores 1 use to a Crossbow type weapon.
Introducing the Ammo system. Instead of uses, certain gun-type weapons do not break upon depletion of their uses, but become useless, or sometimes outright harmful depending on the gun or ammo used. Ammunition can be purchased to reload them. Some ammunition is much more expensive than others.

You don't remember Bio? Stickcrafter's very first mission in fortress defenders(and the only one) was to retake the white house from the minecraft monsters! Of course, we only half-completed it, but still.
After realizing I seem to post every other update, I vote major and Attack Up. And I also search for containers if that's a thing I can do/guard something random if not.
Quick side question: For now, I notice red means it's not a shop item, but what is the real difference between red and gray, if anything I'm missing not presently obvious?

Fear plants the breaching charge and prepares to detonate it. Suddenly, the door begins to glow orange. It then explodes, sending the team flying.
"Agh, damnit!" Fear shouts.
Bio shifts his view to the door and mutters, "What the hell?"
A figure, wearing a strange mask and a labcoat, steps out of the ruined door, his features hidden by the shadows.
It speaks, in a German accent, "At last, I am free. And now, I shall ravage this world. I will reshape it in my image!"
The figure runs down the hall and disappears.
"McKnight," Bio says. "the door exploded and someone just ran out, saying something about destroying and ruling the world."
"We're sending an evac chopper to your location," McKnight assures. "ETA: 60 seconds, stand by."
