My Neighbors asked me to draw something, so I drew Classik while they were hovering over my shoulders the whole time while I was also headbanging to Skrillex. Yeah.
Neighbor: AJ draw something.
Me: uh ok
Neighbor 2: Wow that's good
Me: Thanks
Neighbor 3: STOP DRAWING FURRIES FAGGOTS WHAT ARE YOU A BUNCH OF SEX CRAZED ****S WHO DRESS UP IN ANIMAL COSTUMES AND ****?!?

What the hell is wrong with Neighbor 3? Seriously. You draw an anthro and they flip out like that? Wow... What is this, I don't even.
And how old are they? For some reason, if it was an old woman yelling like that, it would go from "WTF" to "ROFL".
Also, picture time.
Wasn't able to bump today, busy with other projects... got Jacknife's request done, some other stuff...

Neighbor 1 and Neighbor 2 are 13. Neighbor 16 is my age. When approached he asked us if he really knew what a "Furry" was and I replied "Do you really know what it is?" To which point he said that. What a little *****.
Hmm... What ever happened to Illford Baker? I think he got frustrated when both of his previous furry thread got locked...
Well, glad to see this is back up, I'm surprised I missed it. Now all we need is to revive the keminomimi thread... however you spell it...
We scared a lot of the old posters away with the fact that this thread will be completely SFW and ON TOPIC. I really don't feel like getting locked again.
I'll post something else later tonight. I have also started accepting Commissions on my FA page. You can see my prices at the top.

Wow, little kids are little bitches. I have 3 siblings, ages 15, 14 and 11. I had to tell my sister to be careful about "furries" because she was identifying as one for a bit (she draws anthros and sparkledogs quite a bit). I told her straight up: not all of them are perverts, most aren't, but some are. Better to do like I do and identify as an "anthro fan".
That way, people have a better understanding that while she likes the characters and the style, she isn't interested in the more "negative" aspects of the fandom.
As for "scaring them off", this is probably for the best. We have people who are curious about this stuff coming in here now. Seeing that everything here is safe is a good thing. We could change some opinions if people see that not everyone associated with "furry" is a fursuiting pervert, and a lot of us are just artists who like anthros. Part of my motivation is my difficulty relating to people, I'm actually pretty shy IRL. So I draw animal characters instead.
As for this morning's picture, I drew an android antelope character a few years ago, and last year I dressed her up like Terminator and put her on a motorcycle.
A lot of people I've encountered in this thread have FurAffinity accounts. I might have to check it out now. My perception of it so far, well, the same reasons that kept me off DeviantArt all these years- x-rated furry stuff. But that wasn't the case on DA, at least not to the extent I expected. So I might have to check out FA now too.
OK, bumping more than 12 hours after my last post because I saw that episode of Taboo referenced earlier in the thread.
Not sure what to say. The theme was "secret lives", they profiled a real-life superhero, someone who wanted to be a paraplegic, a businessman who was a hobo, and a furry. The furry got the shortest block of time the whole episode. He was a 24-year-old college student who dressed as a blue cat. He had a friend who was a fox-dragon-plant hybrid. The segment started off, "some people love animals so much they want to be one". And of course, they showed the NSFW. Just great. But it was objective, and they said it wasn't about sexual gratification, but rather their "true self" as an animal. The ability to explore parts of your psyche that you can't explore in your normal life. So I guess it was OK. It wasn't just some pervert in a cat suit.
Anyway, I'm beginning to wonder if this thread is worth bumping. Seems like we've been at this for a while, but nobody besides AJ, Jacknife and myself seem to participate actively. As stated in the rules, you're not supposed to bump a thread for bumping's sake. Yet id seems to be getting pushed down not by more relevant threads, but an endless stream of repetitive dubstep threads. So it's a tough call, what's worse, bumping a thread or spamming redundant ones?
And here's some art. Something a bit cuter.
Yes, I do have the catalog necessary for sustained thread survival, if rationed properly, I could post 1-2 a day for at least a month if I continue uploading to deviantArt.
However, if there's no interest, I'd rather not have this become my personal art thread. I find that to be in poor taste.
So, if this doesn't get attention soon, I will have to withdraw. We could just chat via PM. But I really don't plan to make a Skype for chatting, at least not yet.
so a furry is pretty much an anthromorphic animal? And people who are furries like drawings and like drawing said anthromorphic animals? That seems pretty normal to me, I don't see why you guys get so much hate from people.

Well, there are the extremists. Since you post in the MLP thread, you know what I mean, the term "furry" is just as broad as "brony", more broad even. Some people that are furries do dress in costume for sexual reasons, some draw x-rated material, but most are just normal people who like anthros.
The hate for furries is like the hate for bronies: some people in the fandom cross lines of decency and common sense, and become a high-profile minority giving everyone else a bad name.
Take a look at the drawings I've posted here. All are work-safe, some are cute, some are cool, all are good examples of non-perverted "furry" art.

Yeah, I guessed that. The art seems really interesting; so I might try it out some time :]

(Nice picture, btw ^^)
Hey, thanks!
And definitely, give it a try! Or at least stop by to say "hi", pretty sure "on topic" means the same thing here as it does in Ponythread.
One more pic? Let's see here...
Sorry, not bringing my "A" game this time... This will have to do.
I dislike the idea of people wearing a fur suit out side of a furcon. Probably because they scare me. Also the video showed me lots of furries have really.. Strange personas.
Thread is up and running, looks like a few more people are finding it.
Afternoon art post!
Already posted this in the "Show Off Your Creative Side" thread, but I think it works here, too.
I really like your "scrabbling" style of drawing :smile.gif:
Thanks. That's mostly when I doodle and stuff. Instead of doing a pre-composition and then tracing it over on a separate page like a proper person should, I just do it all at once. It makes for some rough, but quick and nice sketches.
I can't wait to get my tablet, because then I would actually be able to sketch as refined as I want.
Silly donkey is silly.

As soon as I opened that, I realized I've seen it on the MLP thread!
It's back up, but we need more poeple to keep it bumped. And that other word, is that the humans with animal ears and tails?

Will do. Just didn't want a 3-post streak. I'd really hate to look like I'm keeping a thread just for my artwork!
Image time.
I know he is a fringe member of the furry community, but do you think he is misrepresenting the culture as a whole?
Thoughts?

I saw it too, and commented on it earlier.
TL;DR: Could've been better, but also could've been WAY worse.
