Does anyone else feel sorry for the ra'zac? They may eat humans, but that's their natural prey. Even Saphira says that it's the way of things for bigger things to eat smaller things. The ra'zac may have given allegiance to Galbatorix, but they were hunted to near extinction by the people who Galbatorix defeated.
When the last ra'zac went to Eragon, he offered information in return for being remembered. Eragon got the information and then killed him. It was Eragon's stupidity that kept him from seeing the information as usefull. The ra'zac was bound by the ancient language to not say any more. The ra'zac knew that its species was doomed, and that it was too, so he asked Eragon to have the humans respect his species. Eragon refused, slew the already wounded, disheartened creature.
