Well first off, Japan is 日本 in kanji. You pronounce it Nippon. Japanese is also known as "land of the rising sun" and has some of their own religons. Also, my favorite anime is Naruto Shippuden.

Does anyone think that Japan could have one WWII after Germany surrendered?
They were economically inept, politically backwards, and had a terrible habit of butchering just about anything not Japanese because their islands didn't have anything to feed their imperial dreams. They were also terrible at fighting Mao's Red Army and were at odds with the Soviet Union as well as the US. They would have fell. The main islands would have burned to a land invasion. And I imagine in this scenario we would have captured Unit 731's research info and we could have actually tried Shiro Ishii for being the sick nutter that he was, and everyone else in the Kwantung Army, or at least in Unit 731.
Bushido is, if anything, a falsified nationalist doctrine as any military doctrine is. Just blown up more to reach the scale of European chivalry or classical Arab Mujahad, but far less tempered. And even if they stood to the last man the Japanese nation would be so resource deprived and they'd be going in with sticks trying to bash through a machine-gun line. Or ultimately burn up to napalm. It wouldn't have been pretty.
I don't get the Japanese fervor. Is it because they're marketable? The country's neck-deep in debt to the point it's now double its GDP, all the romantic perceptions of Japan propagated by the internet are for the most part false, the country'd packed tighter than a can of anchovies, their Xenophobic of nearly everyone including other Asians (you will never be 100% citizen, no matter how well you speak the tongue or walk the walk), it's actually technologically backwards, facing a grandiose population crisis (in part to its xenophobic practice), and Bushido is sort of bunk.
And anime/manga spoiled Japan.
And they have a lot to answer for and their Reactionary policies aren't making it any better.
