Might I just reiterate that this is not the thread to be linking the actual images from Creepypastas? Some of us did want to go to sleep at some point...
The Portraits story was just eerie. I love a story with a good twist at the end. I've previously read Majora's Mask, the various Pokemon ones, and a couple of really out-there ones (Some good, most just silly). One that I really enjoyed was the Russian Sleep Experiment - that one really creeped me out. As it's 2 AM and I'm hoping to sleep tonight, I won't post it, but it's essentially about a Russian experiment to use a type of gas that prevents people from sleeping to see what happens.
And to someone who mentioned the Silence from Doctor Who - I was thinking the Angels from the same series as creepier than the Silence. Possibly because I didn't find The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon terribly scary, but Blink and The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone to be really eerie.
Come to think of it, there were a lot of Doctor Who episodes that could almost be creepypastas. Some of them just have that little touch of creepiness to make you a little unnerved. Especially Blink. (And I'm sorry if I'm derailing the thread a bit, but I figured it was worth mentioning)

One night, I am in bed, beating my wife, when phone ring. I beat phone, then pick it up. I hear voice. Voice says "What you do with my daughter?!"
I turn to wife and demand to know why her father interrupt me beating her. But she say, her father is dead! Then, KGB break into house and arrest me for illegal possession of phone.
You take sip of vodka and roll over. You stare at clocktower on Sobornaya Square. It's 3:23. "Go back to sleep, there is work tomorrow." "No, Father." The familiar warm buzz of vodka starts to sink in. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness. "Why is that, devochka moya?" "Because in my dream, when I was about to go back to sleep, the thing wearing Mother's skin sat up." You pause, and face your daughter and look at her intensely. The figure behind you begins to stir.
"Don't talk that way about your brother, it is not his fault we have no money for coats. Such is life in Moscow."
Once I hear story about girl in Chaplygin. She was asleep in her bed, when she feel lick on her hand. She thinks it is dog and goes to sleep. Next morning, she finds note on dresser with dead head of dog. It says "Capitalists can lick too." She screams.
The girl was sent for re-education in Estonia, her parents sent to labor in Siberia. One must always be watchful and never let American spies into one's house.
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a ****. Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow
In Russia, coffin has pipe for air, and bell with string. If man is true Soviet, he does not die. When buried, yells for undertaker and rings bell. Bell rings. Is no wind. Undertaker asks - "Are you lady Gorbochev?" Voice says "Yes!" "Born winter of 1927?" "Yes!" "Gravestone says 'Died 20 February, 1957" "Niet, am still living!" "Am sorry, but is August. In June, ground will thaw. You must wait for June."
I was kidding, those are russian spoofs. Now for real deal.
In Berlin, after World War II, money was short, supplies were tight, and it seemed like everyone was hungry. At that time, people were telling the tale of a young woman who saw a blind man picking his way through a crowd. The two started to talk. The man asked her for a favor: could she deliver the letter to the address on the envelope? Well, it was on her way home, so she agreed.
She started out to deliver the message, when she turned around to see if there was anything else the blind man needed. But she spotted him hurrying through the crowd without his smoked glasses or white cane. She was, naturally, suspicious, so she went to the police.
When the police paid a visit to the address on the envelope, they made a gruesome discovery, three butchers had been harvesting human flesh and selling it to the starving people.
And what was in the envelope the man gave to the woman? A note, saying simply "This is the last one I am sending you today."
A snuff film is a recording of the actual murder of human being that is subsequently passed around for entertainment purposes. Suicides and accidents don’t count. According to the MPAA, the FCC, the FBI and the ever-lovin’ Snopes.com, there’s no such thing as a snuff film. Yes, this includes Faces of Death. Anything you think might count is faked, falsified, or not made for that purpose, such as those tasteless videos you find on shock sites.
This is a lie.
There are, as best as anyone can tell, between 30-40 snuff films floating around out there. The earliest is a silent film on decaying nitrate celluloid, simply titled La mort d’une fille, and bears the date of 1896.
The latest, judging by the hairstyles and the presence of a “Frankie Says Relax” t-shirt, was probably made in 1983 or 1984 and is on Betamax.
The films vary in violence, but they all include seemingly ritualized sex, followed by the slaying of a girl with dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes who appears to be around 19 years old.
You are home alone, and you hear on the news about the profile of a murderer who is on the loose. You look out the sliding glass doors to your backyard, and you notice a man standing out in the snow. He fits the profile of the murderer exactly, and he is smiling at you.
You gulp, picking up the phone to your right and dialing 911. You look back out the glass as you press the phone to your ear, and notice he is much closer to you now.
You then drop the phone in shock. There are no footprints in the snow.
Have you ever gotten a glimpse of something out of the corner of your eye? A simple movement caught in your peripheral vision. Most will simply dismiss this as a shadow brought about by a flickering candle, or perhaps a pet jumping down from a piece of furniture. Ninety-nine out of a hundred times, these people are right.
But then there's that one elusive sight. It can easily be explained by the above conditions, but something feels wrong about it. A chill down your spine, a slight pain in your side. Maybe even a complete blanking of your mind, only to recede moments later.
Should any of these symptoms be felt, there may be cause for worry. Our peripheral vision is designed to catch motion, even in the dark. This was used to defend against predators in our early days, and as with many aspects of our human nature, it has remained, but weakened.
This view out of the corner of our eyes still alerts us to danger, and although predators have dropped on the list of dangers we may face today, they still exist. Should you ever feel that queer chill in your back, try not to focus on that shadow you saw in the corner of your eye. It might be better not to see.
During the spring of 1902 in the Dry Tortugas Islands off of the coast of Key West, a man was shot and the bullet protruded slightly from the back of his skull into a tree (which he had his back against at the time). As time passed and the tree continued to grow, his putrefied corpse was lifted into the boughs as his skull was still attached loosely to the tree by the bullet. As time passed, the tree grew around the skeleton.
A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. She explained that it was a storeroom, and that it was out of bounds. She reminded him of this several times before allowing him upstairs. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed. However the insistence of the woman had piqued his curiosity, so the next night he walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye.
What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was incredibly pale. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while, was this a celebrity? The owners daughter? He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to. As he was still looking, the woman turned sharply and he jumped back from the door, hoping she would not suspect he had been spying on her. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn’t make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red. He felt embarrassed that he had made the woman so uncomfortable, and hoped she had not made a complaint with the woman on the front desk.
At this point he decided to consult her for more information. After some gentle quizzing and the promise that the explanation would go no further than him she finally said "Well, I might as well tell you the story of what happened in that room. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in there, we find that even now, people get uncomfortable staying there. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red."
This is the only one that ever got me. The rest are meh to me...though the rake is certainly a interesting read, especially the part where he scrambles around the bed.
A new find was brought into the lab today. Men working the demolition of a condemned warehouse at this facility discovered a rusty oil barrel that seemed to exude cold. Preliminary electromagnetic field readings yielded chaotic data before the equipment died. Barrel appears to be constructed of stainless steel and, again, radiates cold.
13/7/2007 9:00 PM
We opened the barrel today inside a sealed chamber. Chamber immediately frosted over. Unidentified entity found within the barrel. Appears to be gaseous and black. Indeed, the very light surrounding it appears to be "sucked in" by it's presence. Appears to be sentient, but does not communicate in any understood way. Biological matter that comes into contact with the Entity seems to disintegrate.
14/7/2007 10:11 AM
An intern entered the sealed chamber alone today, without his hazard suit. He was not seen again. The Entity has double in size since being released from containment. Has become aggressive. We are sealing off the chamber immediately in light of it's flesh-consuming properties and rapid growth. All research is halted.
I threw up several times after viewing the full true suicidal squidward story (Its a true story you know) I feel sick to my stomach :sad.gif:
WARNING: if you do happen to read it I recommend NOT watching the videos due to extreme realistic gore and blood, if you do, do NOT pause the videos to see what happens with the flickering on some of the parts in the video, I beg you not to look, it is a horrifying picture. If you happen to read it be careful because I literally fell to the ground and threw up, I can't stand watching any spongebob episodes after that.
EDIT: majora's mask isn't even freaky at all.
EDIT2: This is torture to me, after reading that I can't stand it, its like torture, my mind is going mad, I vomited several times from reading it, I need mental help after reading that. I really wouldn't read it if I were you unless you are Chuck Norris. Whoever wrote the episode is sick.
The SCP Foundation stuff are great reads.
Some are terrifying, some are blah, some are pretty rad, and others are just plain funny.
And there's hundreds of them. I've still not read them all. o Ao

All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
I hate everybody on page 7 of this thread who just quoted the "go to sleep" picture. I almost had a nervous breakdown, I had to scroll through it so many times.
I recommend "The Holder" and "The Statue" to anybody that wants something mildly scary but not really ****ing disconcerting. They're similar to the Portrait story.

You read the full real story? Didn't you see the part about the editor dude explaining the horrifying pictures of a
dead child laying on some road with his/her back/stomach cut open and eyes popped?
there was like 3 pictures of it (You can see the one of the pictures in the video where sqidward is just staring, the picture is once the screen flickers, pause it there and you will see it, unless the poster removed that part, I am sure its there but I am not sure because I didn't wanna see it.) I think the 3rd or 2nd picture was
A dead girl with the same thing but with a pile of blood, not sure if they show that picture,
also the ending where squidward suicided was when
the screen flickered and a voice saying "DO IT" the screen went back and squidward had a shotgun in his hand and stuck it in his mouth and pulled the trigger and he flew at the wall with REALISTIC blood and brain splatter,
then I felt sick to my stomach and threw up and I started going mad, if you know what I mean. The editor explained everything about it, he had it very detailed in the story, he even stated he vomited on the floor once the second image was shown, just imagining what the images look like I would vomit, it is still unknown who animated this, but whoever did so is mentally retarded (no offense).
also: sorry for the large amount of spoilers, I found this on the creepypasta wiki. Search it on the creepypasta if you want the real story.
