Oh hello there...you are a special one aren't you?
I'm a bit weird in that I like music purely for its musical qualities. Even after hearing a song over and over again, I couldn't tell you what the lyrics are. It all gets glossed over in my mind as I listen to everything else. Most of what I hear (and most of what people like) is, to me, dull and ultimately unsatisfying to listen to, especially a lot of the mainstream stuff that's been coming out recently. Many classic rock bands did not have this problem.
I usually just listen to what other people are listening to and complain about it. A few bands that I'll go out of my way to enjoy:
Talking Heads
Dan Deacon
They Might Be Giants (the only people who create lyrics I'll actually listen to; their songs are also very musically satisfying)
I also, consequently, do enjoy classical musics. Of them, my most favorite composers are:
20. Between The Buried and Me (only their later albums. The first two were a bit directionless and shouty.)
Yeaaaa. Gonna see them a week from today.
Also, @ Ladon, I hate it when people say "MAINSTREEM SUX". Granted a large portion of it does, but dismissing something just because it's been played on the radio or whatever is retarded.

I have yet to hear something I like. Also, is it just me, or did the meaning of opinion change overnight?

Yup, it now means "that which can be objectively proven to be true or false."
I'm gonna have to add Sublime and The Vandals.
Also Bach is the best composer imo, lol.
To the whole "mainstream music" idea - "If you like indie, you are cool. If you admit you like indie, you aren't cool. Also, if you don't hate the band you listened to yesterday, you aren't indie." ~Anonymous

Yeah... Sorry for the bump but who likes electronic music? Like techno?
I'm not talking about what some people think is techno *cough Tiesto (which is actually TRANCE) cough*
Adam Beyer? Chris Liebing? Swedish techno? Or just something techno?
So you mean actual techno, like Orbital, Underworld, etc. etc.?
If so, Yes. A lot. Orbital is my favorite band. I haven't heard a whole lot of it other than those two, though.
I also like the other kind of techno, which isn't really techno.
Above and Beyond, Distrance, Allusion, Abject, Dj Luna, Dj Zany, Eric Prydz, Gabriel and Dresden, Gary Maguire, Gladheadz, Hyperion, Infected Mushroom, Marco V, Oceanlab, Dj Micro, Outfly, Paul Oakenfold, Scott Brown, Tune Up!, UK Gold, etc. etc.
Note: I'm guessing you hate it when people call that stuff 'techno'. I do too. There's hundreds of electronic genres.

Dan Deacon hovers in and around that sort of genre. You've not listened to good electronic music until you've listened to him.
A sampling:
I just heard Dan Deacon for the first time a couple weeks ago. The man is a god. 'Nuff said. -.-
