Harry Potter. I've started to read The Hobbit, but I cannot make a decision until completion. All the others books are okay (that I've read), but Harry Potter is the best.
"Odd is Benjamin Franklin playing tetherball with Van Helsing. Odd is a big toed tadpole tainted by the tides of a dawn since past. ODD IS A FORTY YEAR OLD OFFICER CRIES HIMSELF TO SLEEP EVERY NIGHT DREAMING ABOUT LIFE ON THE ROAD AS A TRAVELING NAKED CONTORTIONIST! NEVER RETURNING HOME! NEVER STOPPING OR BREAKING HIS STRIDE! Uhm. Unless he sells at TGI Fridays. ******* loves that place."

Currently reading Hakomari and it's pretty good so far. ^_~ My favorite book series is the Maximum Ride series.... I still need to finish the last book. It's been sitting on my bookshelf for the longest time.
Well, I finished the first five books in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. I could have finished it much, much sooner, but I just haven't been reading too much.

Therefore, a plan that has no attachment to logic cannot be stopped. The success or failure of any given step will have no impact on the macro level."

My favourite would be the Voynich Manuscript. I've been fascinated with it ever since I first heard of it. What makes it so interesting is that absolutely no-one has any idea what it's about! The text has never been translated and the illustrations are equally hard to decipher.
For example; what the heck is this picture depicting?

Is it a fanciful engineering sketch of plumbing? A medicinal bath? A depiction of how the upper digestive system works? the circulatory system? Are the women in the picture pregnant, chubby or is this just how that particular artist drew women? What on earth is that pinecone/umbrella/flower/thing in the upper corner?
...and that's just one page.
I love the book so much that I'm spearheading a Kickstarter campaign to have the Voynich Manuscript reprinted (the original is under lock & key in Yale's rare books library)
(hope this last bit isn't considered advertising, but feel free to check out the Kickstarter campaign. It will finish around the end of February and any little bit of help to get this reprinted would be awesome!)

did anybody click the site? if so please tell me if it's a virus. I don't like to click any links until I'm sure.
EDIT: this is the link: http://corndogoncorndog.com/
EDIT AGAIN: I ran it through virustotal, said 0 out of 63. still don't want to click it in case it's a screamer website.
I'm almost completely inactive, in case you're trawling through really old threads and notice me somewhere.
All it is is 2 corn dogs on a plate while sexy music plays. its part of "The Useless Web".
OK thanks
EDIT: sorry, I'm really paranoid sometimes.

I could never really get into 1984, but mostly because I was forced to read it in 10th grade. Maybe when I get some free time I'll bust it back out.
And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.
Currently, I'm trying to work my way through Ulysses, but I love it so far. My favorite book overall is It's Kind of a Funny Story.
I have no social life.
I'm currently reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. I like it, but it is more wacky than I would prefer in a science fiction.
Any book series. Seriously, I love almost every book I come into contact with.

Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
Man, that book had a serious impact on my views of the world and the cosmologies that different societies develop.
"Lord, what a splendid world we've ruined."
Wasn't as action-packed as the game obviously, but just a beautifully written book.
