Alright. Then when you buy a $200 tablet with the intent of using it with inkscape, only to discover the compatibility issues involved with particular tablets and inkscape, you can then tell me that it isn't a major concern.
The money being your mothers probably doesn't make it major for you, though.
And for a tablet? Get a normal Intous. Do NOT ge the Bamboo.
I've read many reviews that Bamboo was not a good Wacom Tablet, I never bought it since I have the Intuso (which is amazing). I think it was the problem with controlling the pen or it's performance.
It's small and is very cheap (can break easily)
And you have to drag your pen across the tablet to get to the other side or else it will stay in the previous position.

Ah I see.
The more "professional" Wacom Tables don't do that, the tablet's screen is sort of calibrated to fit your screen to your tablet and is less likely to break. But all Wacom Tablets are extremely sensitive, especially the pens. And they should be handled with care when holding them.

Hmm... I won't get that, then.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
As with all tech I would advise you try and get some hands-on experience with at least some of these. Whether it's at a store that has show sets around to mess with or a friend you know that has one.
There's more than one kind of feature that reads well on the specs sheet but ends up not being exactly what you thought it was.
Wacom is good, I'm just saying that compatibility with specific software shouldn't be a major concern, since that's usually a guarantee unless your drivers are messed up.
I'm not really going to waste my time arguing this, except to express my sincere condolences at your lack of reading comprehension skills.

It's funny, because the issue with inkscape has nothing to do with 'drivers messing up', though you can keep throwing computer words you don't understand around.

If you are just starting out, I'd recommend Autodesk Sketchbook Express. It's very simple and free to use, but it can also produce amazing pieces. As for a tablet, I'd recommend Wacom Intuos.
