Artists have continued releasing their work on vinyl all the way back when new listening formats rose. Vinyl has not just recently made a comeback, department stores are just taking advantage of what appears to be "hipsters being hippy" by selling record players.
I'm still waiting for phonograph cylinders to make a comeback again.
When they do by gum, I'll show you young whipper snappers how to charleston like the dickens! Just point me to nearest gin-joint, we'll have a gay time!
They're not really making a comeback. It's more that they're just not dying out. Those buying vinyls are still a minority, but record sales aren't declining. Sales have actually increased a bit lately though since vinyls are kind of becoming cool again. It's not like everyone and their cousin will be buying record players, but it's starting become a nifty item to have around the house. I've actually been thinking about getting one for myself at some point because there's this aesthetic appeal about music over a physical medium that you can't get with an mp3 player or your phone.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

I should also point out an advantage of having a vinyl collection is that it is something you CAN sell later on. You CAN't really make much money reselling your CDs and good luck trying a digital market.
Seems like it is. Aren't some major artists also releasing on vinyl?
Yeah, but I would say that's far from a comeback!
