Greetings and salutations
My friend wants to start a YouTube channel but he doesn't know anything about computers, and my knowledge is limited and I need expert advice. We live on the Gold Coast in Australia to narrow it down for help.
Would this build be good?
CPU=Intel I5 4590 3.3ghz
GPU=Gainward GTX 770 GS 2GB
PSU=EVGA SuperNOVA 750w semi modular
RAM=G.Skill DDR3 1600mhz 16GB(2x8gb)
Case=Antec GX500B-W
Mobo=ASRock H97 Performance
Optical=Asus DRW-24x
HDD=Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200rpm
SSD=Kingston SSDnow V300 120GB
This is $1206 where we live, and that's around the most he can spend
Or this build for $850, and a Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 2gb for $1199
CPU=Intel I5 2500k
GPU=GTX 550ti
PSU=OCZ 700w
Mobo= ASRock Extreme3 Gen3
RAM=G.Skill 16GB Ripjaws
Case=CM Storm Enforcer
Optical= NONE
HDD=2x Western Digital 1TB (2TB in total)
SSD=Samsung 250GB
Sound card=Creative Soundblaster Z
Any help is appreciated, ask any questions if I didn't phrase anything correctly
Also, my friend wants to do other games like Star bound and Garry's mod I think.
By cramming everything else down to bare minimum, you even have a 3570k there instead of a 4690k. Use of common sense is allowed, you know.
Also not being turning into a total **** when someone makes a tiny mistake is allowed
Also can you waste your time explaining how its "crammed" and "bare minimum" and what exactly is wrong with a goddamn 3570K?
The 4690k is only the slightest oh so slightest bit better not by much at all
It would be easier for everyone involved if you just didn't post bad builds and actually spent some time making them good. The case and power supply are basically as low as you can go, and the 4690k is better than the 3570k in everything but raw clock speed. The unlocked CPU is useless either way since you have a locked board in there, might as well skip the cooler, and getting a faster, more reliable hard drive would be very much worth the few extra dollars.
If OP doesnt like the case he can simply change it not hard at all unless your stupid
Whats wrong with a 600W for $40? oh thats right i forgot to make it a $200 1600W 80+ platinum
I didnt notice it was a locked board to dont get all pissy about it
And you do realize pretty much ALL HDD's are 5400RPM and 7200RPM so yeah
Also the reviews and ratings dont lie

Your build is irrelevant anyway. OP lives on the Gold Coast, Australia. US shops and deals are no good over here, and everything is a good deal more expensive.
This would be okay, will perform more than decently with shaders and anything else you throw at it. Not ideal, but good for the price.
Add on around $50 for postage to the Gold Coast with AusPost, and another $19 if you really need an optical drive. Didn't include OS.

Yeah, PC parts are more expensive in Australia, and most of the stores near me (I'm on the Gold Coast), overprice most of the components to other stores near me

I'd buy from PC Case Gear or Mwave, cheaper than buying from in-store. I've had bad experiences with MSY and CPL so wouldn't recommend those, and Scorptec generally seems to be overpriced. I pretty much exclusively use PCCG now, only ever had one issue where they sent me the non backlit version of a keyboard instead of backlit, but they rectified it straight away.

I've gone to MSY once and I didn't have a problem with them, what I like about MSY is that the online price is the same instore. I'll try PCCG now. And thanks for the help

Ahh, if you can go instore at MSY it should be fine and would save you paying postage anyway. The only problem I had with MSY was poor customer service after a component I ordered wasn't actually in stock, and had to do the whole run-around to eventually sort it out.

I emailed them 2days ago about a monitor that was out of stock. it as a 24" Monitor for $140. They emailed back and said it was discontinued, emailing them is easier I find. They can check their stocks and reply to you

Both these builds triumph over my pc
Would be best and I'm here to help.

The build I listed above was from PC Case Gear.
