StartIsBack or ClassicShell. I fail to see why someone would use some dodgy program when there are programs that do it better while being more trustworthy.

I think people like to complain about it because they think it will completely take over the desktop, which is insane. If you only use it to store shortcuts to programs and folders it is perfectly fine.

The same type of person who was clamouring about how Program Manager was better than the Start Menu when Windows 95 came out, and how the Program Manager in Windows 95 was also worse because Windows don't iconize.

They seem pretty appropriately sized on a 1080p monitor big enough to see the icon and recognize it quickly. Still faster and higher density of programs then the start menu.

You argument is simple not logical. Buttons on the start menu are easily big enough to be recognized quickly, and it's a lot faster to select something when you don't have to move the cursor all over the damned screen to do so (and sometimes scrolling to get where you want).
