Hello I am looking for a laptop that can run minecraft at normal/far with decent fps
I'm willing to spend 500-680 and If possible would like a backlit keyboard also does matter what company.
Thank you for your time
It should be a guideline newer richland and Kaveri A10s will get better performance. Walking around you can see pretty good FPS but going around on a Minecart in a grounded forest is pushing it.
No evidence of that and what do you define as maxing what operating system what version?
His laptop is Windows 7 64-bit. I imagine that this is all just a result of bad optimization. The A10 mobile *should* be able to get 60+ FPS on max, but it could be better, or could be worse.

What A10 is it Llano Trinity Richland Kaveri? What version of Minecraft the older versions run better then the current one.
Just because you think it should does not mean it will.
That is a richland A10 that was recomended that laptop should be fine the average FPS should be near 50fps or so with it hitting 60 with not a lot going on.

It's a Trinity. It was on older versions, however. I'll check up on his performance in the newer version soon.

Just to put things in perspective, someone around here (I believe it was fm87) was able to get over 100FPS on an HD2000 (or 2500, can't remember which - the point is that they both suck).

That was an older version of the game at a lower resolution it was also on a desktop. Laptops have to worry about heat so they downclock often off their turbos.
The GPU also does not matter very much when it comes to MC as long as it supports the OpenGL versions and has semi speedy access to RAM it is fine.
FMs test IIRC was with a core 2 quad and a non release edition of the game.
Also if you are willing to have FPS drops most anything can do a good FPS while looking at something.

On the higher end of the budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834231455

I'd say around 60. Anything more than 60 won't have any effect since pretty much all monitors will only be able to show 60.
No. More like 35-45.

You can't benchmark Minecraft. My brother's A10 laptop maxes Minecraft at 60FPS easily.
But you just guaranteed OP 60 FPS and now you're saying he might or might not get it.
I didn't guarantee it. 40FPS is a little low for an A10.
It is on windows too read the whole deal.

I saw that and edited my post hours ago, don't know how you still got that quote.
I hit quote and ended up getting up did not get some until later and finished my post.

I did and can. No evidence of that and what do you define as maxing what operating system what version?
