The AMD build would have the advantage of six cores instead of the two that the i3 has, but I know Intel CPUs are simply better performers when it comes to certain tasks. I plan on doing very little with this computer other than hosting a bukkit server with some mods and maybe 20-30 slots. My main question is whether or not the 6300 would perform better than the i3 at hosting a Minecraft server. Also, the AMD build is lower in price and I already have the compatible parts that I left out in pcpartpicker, but the Intel build would be cheaper in the long run due to lower power consumption.
If you just want to host a Bukkit server than use something along the lines of a G3220. There's no point in the 6300 or even the i3 for MC server hosting as the server can only use 1-2 threads at most.
Exactly the same singlethreaded performance as the i3, minus obvious clock speed differences. Single core performance may even be stronger per clock because they're not hyperthreaded cores.

Also, if your server is too big your isp wont be happy.
fm87!I do know that the server can't be too large which is one of the reasons I'll be sticking to 30 slots or less.
