A teacher got mad at me and threatened to kick me out of the library as she claimed my Minecraft copy was illegal by looking at me playing.
Very funny out of the %99.99 of people who play cracked she chooses me.
I also got kicked out one time because my wallpaper looked like a game however the teacher didn't realize (This was back when games where banned) My friends wallpaper was a screenshot of a game and she was OK. Anyway she said I was rude and she would email my teacher (never happened)
pre-1.8 offline mode just sucks for those of us who legitimately own the game, unless you don't actually own the game (how else could she know you were using an 'illegal' copy?)

windoge 8 has the saddest excuse for a BSOD, it just tells you the type of error, no stop code, no nothing, just "something went wrong, all your unsaved work has now been lost to the void that is volatile memory"
the real funny part is out of the %99.99 of people who played cracked at your school you thought you were the only one invincible to being called out for it.
I don't think I'm invincible, you certainly weren't. The point was that she called me out for piracy (even though she didn't take action) from looking at me play
Come to think of it I think she was telling me to get off Minecraft, IDK what she was trying to say, but by using the word illegal I assumed piracy anyway it happened Q2 2012 I don't want to think about it.

Are you talking about the new launcher? If so it is quite frustrating without an Internet connection. I really don't know how it happened still this was late Q2 in 2012.
Also there is something I have wanting to say to the OP.
Go into a Word Document change the background to black and the text to green or white, Then finally change the font to Courier New. Take a look and see if that does anything (if you have a lunch break to waste)

Suspended for typing in word using a "cool looking" background colours and fonts?
When a teacher has no idea what it is and freaks out, believing they're "hacking the planet" (enjoy the memories of the movie), and suspends them. Yeah, it's stupid and inaccurate, but it can and does happen.
...though I must admit to be guilty to messing around with QuickBASIC, VBA at some point, making an incredibly primitive "chat" program in a Word document for my friends and I to use with that messenger (you know, net send <computer> <message>)service that everyone loved.
Considering that, though, I pretty much personally knew all of the actual computer teachers (who knew I did this), including Steve the technician who had an evil villain goatee, so I was fairly safe in doing it in their classes.

You know just as well as we do what you want the document to look like, so don't play all innocent. People judge others by first appearance whether you like it or not. If you walk around with messy hair and the right clothes on, people will assume you're homeless. The same goes for messing around in school on the computers. They will assume you are up to no good. When you are at school, you might as well just assume you are guilty until proven innocent.

In other words, the point was she did something entirely justified. You'll have to forgive me if I think your point is about as dull as as a parliament sitting discussing legislation surrounding floor wax.

so basically, "I have no idea what I'm talking about and would prefer not to be forced into accepting that realization".

The colours you described are about as "cool" as owning a Pet Rock at this point, primarily because they come from about the same time frame.
Am I the only one that wasn't a little **** when I was a kid about using other people's computers?
Because this thread is really enlightening me to how rude and "everyone owes me" a lot of you really are.
Personally when I use other people's computers I don't change anything unless they tell me I should, not because I'm too stupid to do it, but because I'm not a self-centered ***** and actually respect their property.

Huh? How is that justified? Without any evidence.
so basically, "I have no idea what I'm talking about and would prefer not to be forced into accepting that realization".
No I just don't remember. (And I sort of don't care anymore)
That is probably because they are not particularly technologically advanced.
You know all those cliche hacker movies that have hackers using really old looking software (stuff that looks like this)? They see something on your screen that looks like that and they immediately worry about hacking/viruses/etc. It's not their fault; they just grew up with that being the mask of hacking. As fm87 pointed out they don't know what you are doing so they want you to stop. When you are using a modern IDE it doesn't look out of place; it could be any program as far as they care as long as it follows the expected design scheme.
Same thing happens in my school.
You don't know how sick I get of people at my school opening cmd and typing "tree", then calling themselves hackers.

you get used to it after a while, especially when they leave facebook open

Without any evidence according to your claim. Except most schools block Minecraft.net meaning if somebody is playing Minecraft they are playing a cracked copy by definition.

or they used a flash drive to bring a copy of the launcher, since it doesn't download from the MC website

Oh boy, now not only are they running games on the school computers, but they are also helping spread malware on machines that, likely, were previously clean.
And this is just showing how ignorant you all are to your damage.
How do germs spread?
Same thing for malware.
Plug a USB storage device in an infected machine? Now that USB storage device is infected. Once it is plugged into a new machine, it will infect that machine.
This is how most malware spread back in the day before flash drives, same thing but instead of flash drives it was floppies.
Oh sure, all you see is the launcher, there can't be any more files on there...... Except it's very easy to hide the files (even from windows "show hidden files"), and even manipulate the drive to show the malware not taking up any storage space at all.
And then the next kid who plugs his drive into the computer, what happens then? Why, the malware will multiply of course, hitch a ride on his drive and then to his computer where it will spread even further and further.
See the problem that "just once" game of minecraft caused? And the user didn't even need to do anything, now he's potentially infected thousands of machines.
This is why most schools do not allow flash drives. Partially so you lot don't go installing whatever you feel like, but mostly just to keep the school network and computers from being infected by you.
I don't think you realize the crap that ends up on kids flash drives. Malware is made to be undetected, it's not hard for it to unknowingly get onto a flash drive and then transfer itself onto a school computer once it's plugged in.

People bring all sorts of stuff on flash drives. Schoolchildren with games on their drives are reasonably likely to pick up a virus at some point when pirating stuff; and there are people who pirate.
