Hi, I plan on getting a capture card and I would like to use my headset to record my voice but also use it to talk to friends at the same time. Am I able to use a USB Splitter Female to 2 Male cable to use it on both at the same time? I looked at some of the splitters and one person said they couldn't. However, someone commented saying that was because that splitter wasn't designed to do that and didn't have a KVM (?) Switch or something. Are there splitters made for what I wish to do?
Or you can live with taking a few seconds to move the USB cord between the PC and PS3.
UPDATE: Wait, I think I see what you're saying; you want to use it on both simultaneously. That is not possible, sorry to say. If you had an analog 3.5mm headset, it would work, but not for USB. With USB, it is both sending/receiving information from the headset. It is easy to split the signal being output from the headset, but it isn't possible for the headset to distinguish what signal is coming from what device when they're both coming in on the same line.
Ah alright thanks for that. So if I were to get the Turtle Beach PX21's (I saw this solution somewhere) and used a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, I could use the USB on the PS3 and then use the 3.5 mm thing to plug into my capture card or something? Or is that also not possible?
Not exactly sure what you're asking there, but no USB headset can be used on 2 devices simultaneously no matter the configuration. USB headsets have their own integrated audio drivers so it must be connected to each device via USB and nothing else.

Oh alright thanks for your help. Are there any ways to be able to do this any other way besides two mics? I assume not.

Only thing I can think of would be if you could find a rapid USB switch, kind of like an Ethernet switch but with USB. Something like that would be able to switch back and forth between the two devices so quickly that it would seem that you're using them both simultaneously. I doubt those exist though.
Actually, you might be able to make a makeshift rapid switch like I mentioned above. There exist USB to ethernet converters that are mainly used for transmitting USB signal over long distance (since Ethernet keeps a higher signal strength for much longer). If you were to get a couple sets of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003BDMK3S/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1387085641&sr=8-1
And some proper cabling, you might be able to pull it off. You would plug the headset into the USB-ethernet adapter with the female USB connection, then use an Ethernet cable to connect that to port 1 on the switch. Then, use the male USB-ethernet adapters to plug into each of the devices. This is just a theory though, you would need someone with more expertise on the subject to confirm it.
Yeah I probably won't do that just because it's a theory, but thanks for the ideas and information. I guess I'll go without talking to anyone when I record
It's definitely a possibility, and if someone confirms that it will work then you could do that. I cannot make such a gauruntee though, only because of my limited knowledge on the subject.
