I might get one, and I want to know why everyone thinks they are bad.
EDIT: I should have been a bit more specific on what I'm getting; The $1099 Alienware 14.
EDIT: I should have said this earlier, but it needs to be a dell laptop. My dad gets a discount on Dell's through his work (I have no idea why, since he works in a law firm)
People say that Alienware PC's & Laptops are overpriced for what spec you get, I personally have no opinion on what computer you have, as long as we can win the game efficiently. I prefer alienware laptops, just not their desktops. If you need a Laptop you probably wouldn't regret it. But if you are wanting a desktop, researching how to build one yourself is better. What currency do you use? Pounds, Euros, Dollars(AU,CA,US), Japanese Yen? I can find either a pre-built system or a DIY system. What is your price tag?
It has to be a laptop, sorry I didn't mention that earlier. I live in the USA.
I will say, having used some of Alienware's notebooks and those of competitors, that they are "as bad as everything else." Of course, we have different definitions of "bad," and I compare notebooks on far more points than most people do. What irks me might be irrelevant to you.
The Internet is almost all heuristic.
If you want it, try it. If you hate it, try something else. Simple.
Alienwares suffer from that as well as from their cooling issues, even more so than most other laptops.
The cooling seems fine for me, as I am an actual owner. Like I keep saying the CPU and GPU never exceed 72c on mine and the over heating point is 92c(Maybe a bit more for the GPU) The cooling is pretty much on par with asus and sager.

Laptop - Alienware 17: Intel I7 4700QM, 16GBs DDR3L (1600Mhz), 750GB HHD, Nvidia GTX 780m 4GBs, 1920 x 1080P FHD.
Well he said "All Laptops Have Horrible Cooling" he wasn't directly pointing towards Alienware but all laptops.

Have fun paying a $500 restocking fee because there is nothing wrong with the laptop.
I did not pay restocking fees when I returned my last few notebooks (including an Alienware), and none of them had issues.
It's down to clueless reps, I think.
"But there's something wrong with the thing, so can I get a refund?"
The only exceptions would be if the company has a "satisfactory guarantee" policy, which (IIRC) dell does not.
It's not about clueless reps, it's warehouse policy for quite literally every company that sells electronics out there.
Overpriced. Lights drain battery.
On the bright side, pretty lights.
On the bad side, those lights drain the battery.
Sire I inquire as I do with most, but do you mean to gloat? For is it truly such a tire to reply to the host with but a simple QUOTE?
Not true! If you hold a laptop on your lap for extended periods, you can risk overheating to your genitals and cause fertility issues!

The more you know...
yeah, it helps us, not the pc, the cooling pad will probably drop it by a degree or 2, if at all
my website- http://pcbuilds.site...orums/index.php -Looking for Admin's, pm for more info
Uh, what does that have to do with using or not using a cooling pad?
