Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
I'm not new to building computers. I plan on upgrading in the future, so I want a decent powersupply and trustworthy ram.
Ram is Ram. in that .01% chance it's DOA, 99% of the time you'll have a lifetime warranty.
that 750W PSU, IIRC, only has 2 PCI-E connectors. If you ever upgrade to SLI, well, you need a new psu.
Also... 660ti...

There are so many things wrong with this build. Did you not do any research at all?
Notice the overkill Intel CPU vs a low-end Nvidia GPU.
Looks like he used a prebuilt as a guideline.

->9000/10 Would not come within a 100 metre radius of the build.
Did you honestly buy a 660ti? Are you stupid?
hey now, it's not that bad of a build.
it's not lower than a 4/10.

It's 4, unless the specs page lies. There's no harm in getting an overkill PSU, honestly, as long as it's within reason. A PSU is one of many parts you can reuse across builds; I personally consider investing in a decent PSU and a good case to be worthy investments, considering that they (should) last for future builds as well.
From what I've read, the C70 isn't an awful case, but I personally think it looks tacky.

i was going off memory. Although it is still a minor issue. If you wish to crossfire 2 decent cards (like 7970's) you'll probably want more then 750W.

I'm not as critical as everyone else here, but if I were you, I would've went with an AMD cpu. I feel as if Intel really dropped the ball with Haswell.
The GPU isn't great, but at least it can be upgraded in the future. It'll get the job done.
Also, I have that monitor. It's been good so far.

i5 2500k @ 4Ghz | GTX 670 @ stock | Hyper 212 Evo | Asrock Z68 pro3 gen3 | 8(2x4)gb Ripjaws 1600mhz | 2.5 TB of combined HD space | Corsair TX-750 | Asus Xonar DG | CM Storm Enforcer |
At that budget, it's perfectly fine to get an Intel. Haswell has no problems except for heat when overclocking.
I'm no expert, but what makes 4670k better then say, an FX-8350?
No, the graphics card is still a quite powerful one, but that's not important. What is important is the fact that OP got it for most likely $300, when the GTX 760 beats it for $250 and the 7950 matches or beats both for $200.
By 'not great', I meant not great compared to what he could get for an equal or cheaper price.

What do you guys think of the build? I realize 16GB isn't needed, but I got it because it wasn't much of a price bump from 8 to 16 and why not!
-16GB overpriced RAM
-750Watts.
4/10 would not build.

Case looks pretty bad. Just don't get me started on the GPU.

Only good thing is the 8 cores which does do great speeds. When used correctly.
Alright, I learned something. Thanks.
