My HX750 is now making a buzzing/chirping noise for a second after the fan spins down.
Are there no PSU manufacturers out there who can make a PSU that isn't this ridiculously poor quality?!?
First my Seasonic has huge issues with fan/coil noise, now my Corsair is making weird noises after the fans spin down. I was already mildly annoyed at the fans spinning to 100% for a few seconds every 5 minutes, now I get a loud chirp afterwards!
I don't want to RMA again... Nor do I want a PSU with chirps. And even the fan spinup every 5 min is annoying.
Are there any bottom-venting EXTREMELY QUIET PSUs that don't cost am absurd amount of money and don't have major and incredibly ridiculous defects? I'm hoping that the noise goes away, but if it doesn't, I might as well try another brand.

Well i remember watching a video where this dude switched his psu because of a feature that the hx 750 has where it goes full blast every few mins. 13:35

Tell me about it lol. I've just recently built a new PC and I automatically opted for a Corsair PSU (the TX650M to be exact) because I knew they were a good brand. I won't be making that mistake again. Had to RMA the first one because the fan wasn't spinning up properly and there was a constant buzzing noise when under load. I was sent a replacement within a week (can't fault scan.co.uk's service) and when I booted up for the first time after installing it, it immediately starting making a high pitched noise and this time it's constant. In the end I gave up and just ordered a different make of PSU which should be coming tomorrow =)
It seems that no manufactuer is capable of making decent PSUs. What a pity.
Well, that'll be a problem with CWT, since it isn't Corsair who's producing the unit.
Sounds like a problem with coil whine though, it seems like the chirping noise isn't too rare with the HX-series. It's worth noting that a high-quality power supply doesn't guarantee no coil whine though, even Seasonic's high-end KM3 platfrom (found in newer AX and X-series units) seem to have issues with that too.
Just to be clear however, it's perfectly fine reliability-wise to have coil whine, there's actually nothing wrong with the unit itself. It's just that certain components (presumably inductors) are at resonance, causing the noise. That's mainly why manufacturer's don't seem to put much attention to it, along with that fact that it varies from unit to unit.
The noise is from the fan spinning down, other people on Corsair's forums and in reviews have had the same issue. This isn't like what happened with the Seasonic.

Yep, that's the spinup I'm talking about. I don't like it, but I don't care too much either — what's ing me off is that it's now chirping every time it completes that spinup/spindown cycle.

Ive had my hx 750 for several months now and have never had a problem with it, nor have I had one with any of my Corsair parts. Perhaps you received a dud? I recall reading somewhere on my box that it comes with a warranty if you want to have it replaced.
Keep in mind its not always the companies fault. These parts need to be precisely tuned, not everyone is going to be perfect.
Edit: Decided to watch the video and he said the word overclock which is something Ive been forgetting to do so Im going to go overclock.

7 year warranty from Corsair plus Amazon's outstanding returns department would make it easy to swap it out, but I don't want to do all that for another dud... As you might imagine, I'm extremely mad at having issues with my PSU twice in a row, despite changing brands/OEMs entirely for the second one.

NZXT, Silverstone, Antec, XFX Core Edition, off the top of my head.
The HCP-750 is amazing if you're into the whole $150 for a PSU thing. It can go on sale for up to 50% off at times. 80+ gold and I've never heard it over my case fans. The HCG line is probably very similar as well.
i5 4670k @ 4.9GHz - Stock Heatsink - The rest is melted silicon but I think I have a graphics card in there somewhere It surprises me how many people on this forum can't read benchmarks.

I know you wanted 750W for expansion, but if fans are bothering you this Seasonic PSU should fix that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151122 I heard it's a Seasonic 1000W PSU that has had the fan removed, but I don't know if that's true. You could also try an AX750 as the AX series fans do not spin up until they have reached 50% load.

I need 600W at the absolute minimium. The HX series and AX series have identical heat-based fan spinup.

Did you even read my post? I already HAVE a HX750, and 850W is absurdly overkill.

I wanted the 750W for future expansion and for capacitor aging overhead.

Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.

Thanks.
I'll look into it.

I got mine when it was recommended to me by my old CS teacher.
