Hello forum,
I have had an XFX HD 5770 since November of 2010. It has been causing my computer to crash more and more, and I sent my RMA request today. There were issues with booting today, and lots of graphic glitches (horizontal lines, freezing). Has anyone had a similar experience from XFX? How difficult will getting the RMA be? Should I expect them to replace it with the same product? Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
XFX is pretty good. But considering the age the 5770 is getting now, better off going ahead and getting a latest gen card or so. I have a Sapphire HD5770 and they still have bite yes, but their power consumption and heat output shows.
XFX is a great company. Only issue I've seen is with my friend's XFX 6870, it doesn't underclock very fast. It takes 5 minutes to underclock the memory, but the core clock underclocks fine at idle.

Should I get a new card after RMAing (if it doesn't go well)? Or should I just not attempt to RMA?

Thank you for the insight, but I'm not gonna try messing around with settings.
They would replace it with the same product. The 5770 is old, but it works. I'd just get a new GPU, if you need an upgrade.
I don't necessarily need an upgrade, it still works decently (when it does work) for gaming and such. I'll just RMA and if I have more issues, then I will just buy a new graphics card.

Depends on cost of the RMA shipping if any, or repair cost if out of warranty.
If both those are fairly cheap and inexpensive, then just RMA.

I would assume that I'm still in the warranty, since it is a two year warranty after all.
