So I'm playing this game from-time-to-time but as in case of for an example Bethesda RPG-s,
I absolutely love to mess with textures, meshes and shaders in order to get the game on it's knees and "enjoy" nice visuals
in 10 frames per second.
Now for real, I was using some shaders on my laptop and no matter how pretty they were, my framerate was in most cases
a bit unpleasant. I'm now planning on building a desktop PC and I would like to know what do I need to run maybe
not the most demanding but relatively high-end shaderpacks, with some nice resourcepacks in relatively smooth framerate.
I'll mark here that I am aware of AMD being more optimised for SEUS for example but I need my GPU to be from NVIDIA,
not AMD because of the ENB compatibility in other games. I'll put specs of the laptop that I'm currently using
and the specs of the desktop that I'm planning on building below. My questions are:
How about SEUS PTGI and its "Path Tracing"? Any chance that it will work? According to Sonic Ether,
it doesn't utilize RTX cores or require special hardware, only a "Modern GPU with decent horsepower".
Are the specs mentioned in the "Desktop" section enough to use relatively demanding shaders on relatively high settings?
If specs mentioned in the "Desktop" section are enough for my mentioned needs, can they be altered
for any cheaper version?
Will I feel a big jump in performance with shaders when comparing laptop and desktop or not really?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
The specs of the laptop are:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4200M @ 2.50Ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
The specs of the desktop that I'm considering at the moment are:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7640X
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
