This laptop looks great to me. Will it play Minecraft and other games at an acceptable frame rate? Example: I would like at least 30 FPS or above on max settings. This laptop has great specs, and I don't know if it will perform well. Please respond yes or no.Please reply, I don't have much time to make a decision.
Oh. My. LORD. There are so many people asking if they need *bleep*ing GAMING LAPTOPS to play MINECRAFT...
COME ON, PEOPLE!!! I RAN MINECRAFT WITH 38 FPS ON A 15 YEAR OLD DELL DIMENSION XPS 600!!!
...But to answer your question, yes, that thing will get at least 100-250 fps.
It'll run Minecraft at about 120 FPS, Minecraft isn't well optimized for Windows 8. You can run tons of games, but don't expect Battlefield 4 maxed out 60 FPS.
Minecraft is optimized for any operating system. Except for Windows 8 RT. The RT version doesn't have desktop support so you can't really play any game.
Great! I know it has a lot of good stuff. I'm not expecting like 60 FPS on all games, just at least above 30 FPS. 120 FPS is great, that's all I needed to hear! Thanks!
Well, I will be using the laptop for some gaming, and multitasking. I probably can't go over $1500 dollars as that is too much. I am looking for a neat, powerful machine. What are you suggesting? Should I upgrade it?

What kind of gaming?
You could go either the Lenovo G505s (with the A10), Lenovo y410p, or Lenovo y510p depending how much you want to spend. After that, I'd say you're getting into the range where Sagers shine.
Well, I would like to be able to play most games, and all of those games at an acceptable 30+ framerate at max settings. I am willing to spend up to $1500 if I have to. Is there something wrong with the system I posted?

For starts, it's a Dell. Seconds, it's overpriced quite a bit.
Do you really want/need a touchscreen? That could factor in a bit. What size screen were you looking for?
I don't really see anything wrong with Dell, and I admit that the price is a bit high. To answer your question, I prefer a touchscreen with Windows 8, as the OS feels a bit strange without a touchscreen. I am aware that it downs performance a bit, but I was hoping that it would get a decent framerate.
Also, I don't really care about screen size. I would be happy with a "13 or "14, but a "15 would be nice, too. I need to make a selection for Christmas, and I don't have much time to choose.
P.S. I just made this acc yesterday, and I can only make 1 more post today, so I won't be able to reply to another post.

Bro, You can build a PC for $600 that can run BF3 on max settings with 50+ FPS. Refer to these links:

How to build this specific build:
Trust me this is the way to go if you want to max out performance and have money extra.
My experiences, and those of a lot of others, show quality issues with their laptops especially. The one I have overheats quite easily, after cleaning. I've also had a part blow up inside, and could smell the smoke of such. Customer Service also wasn't so great.
The touchscreen makes this slightly harder to find a good deal. I've been using Windows 8 on both my desktop and my laptop, and have no problems without touch on either. It's up to you, but I personally don't feel it's necessary. It also can help knock off a lot of price.
i have this exact laptop and i only get 90 fps and when i try and record i only get 30 fps soo this laptop should be fine. the specs should guarantee above 60 any settings and recording so i may have a dud.

Why did you bump this thread? The laptop was for Christmas anyway, and obviously it already happened, so your post doesn't help.

For that price, you could do a lot better. A LOT better.
What are your uses and what budget are you on?

You're better off with a low end Sager. And you do not need a touchscreen for Windows 8. It wasn't even designed for one.

This will perform considerably better for slightly less (though it will be slightly heavier).

Who says you need dedicated graphics to run Minecraft well? Integrated works just fine.

Except you're wrong. I have a laptop with Intel HD 4000 and it can max out Minecraft. The AMD APUs perform quite well in it also.
