That isn't actually half terrible, not bad. You'd still be better off with an i3 on LGA 1150 though, much better performance, with much better upgrade options.
Probably worth chucking in a GTX 960 into Alexx's build and going with that if you can afford it. Can't really get any better than that price vs performance wise.
I want the GTX 960, but I hear so much about bottlenecking other parts. My goal is a build around $500 centered around the GTX 960. Which GTX 960 I got no clue, there's so many. It's probably wiser to center around a CPU I would think, I just want that GTX 960. And this overclocking stuff, I dunno if I even wanna worry about getting into it.
Did another one, dunno if I like the mobo though. $511, $500.38 after promo code and mail-in rebate... //pcpartpicker.com/p/4XjMJx
I mean, if you can spend another $20, I would get a GTX 960.
However, I have heard very good things about overclocking GTX 950s. Apparantly you can achieve about the same performance with an OC'd 950 as a stock 960
Precisely my reason for going with the superclocked 950 I chose. Plus I really just tried to stay under $500. I also have been debating for going up $30 for the superclocked 960 all day. Just putting together builds at that website is fun and for some reason makes hours go by as fast as playing PC games does. I guess it's cause it's been decades since I cared for building my own PC. Got into this stuff back in the 90's and just fell into consoles. Boy has PC gaming evolved since then. For some reason, I still wanna play older PC games just as much as newer ones, but in 1080p.
But yeah, HD 5500 graphics won't run shaders well (if at all). 10-30fps does not count as running them "well", which is all you'd get with the i3-5005U's integrated graphics.

I can run SEUS well, only 5 FPS and an error on gbuffers_textured_lit. But sadly, KUDA Shaders got a HUGE FPS Drop, but it's being optimized now. At least i can run 'em. DWP's Mercury Shaders are the best.

My specs can run well on ALL shaders, but i'm PURE Intel

Your computer may have a GPU. That screen only shows the CPU. For example.
