Hey everyone, my name is Matthew! I don't know much about CPUs, and was looking to upgrade my CPU for a better Minecraft Experience and PC gaming experience overall. I have around 200$ to spend on a CPU and wanted to get a suggestion/recommendation for a new CPU. I've posted my current specifications for my PC below this paragraph.
Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit
Service Pack:
0
Size:
64 Bit
Now it's a pretty basic PC, I heard from a few friends that overall it's good, but I should upgrade my CPU. If I can get any help on this, it would be greatly appreciated. If further info is needed, just let me know.

IamCCX, thanks for the reply. I have 8gb of RAM I think that's good. When I play Minecraft my FPS fluctuates up and down from 45-130 FPS, it never get's a constant FPS. If I play any other games, including Minecraft, I can't run more than a 1 program with out my PC slowing down.
The FPS I said is using a modpack also. When I play Vanilla I get from 100-200 constantly going up and down. I just want it to be a little stabilized.
I believe that part where it says 4gb of Memory is referring to a empty volume I made on accident.

I would reccomend getting a new cpu, if you know how to do that and some of the issues with doing that. You computer uses and older motherboard, not old like you need to upgrade it, just old that you are limited in generation of cpu's you can get. You could upgrade the motherboard to get a newer cpu, but that might not be worth the extra money. You current cpu run on lga 1155, so you would need a cpu that also can run on lga 1155. This would be a cpu that would work in your computer, http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-3550-Quad-Core-Processor-Cache/dp/B007SZ0EJW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1456086371&sr=1-1&keywords=1155
There are other stuff like power, the cpu would use more power than you old one. You might need a new power supply.
You computer only has 2 cores. 2 slow-ish cores. Minecraft only really uses 2 cores but if you wan't to to anything else, your computer will be slow.
Well.... the best CPU for an LGA1155 is the Intel Core i7-2600k. and it is a little over your budget. It can cost up to $249.99 USD. Plus, Doctapper i think you should calm down a bit.

Thanks everyone for your replies. This is just a temporary computer till I find another job. Just recently got laid off, after 3 months of this last job. Was a fool and blew money like an idiot. I mainly just want the CPU upgraded for this PC, I'm not looking to keep it for ever. When I do get a new PC this one will be handed to my parents to do with as they please. I'll take a look at the mentioned CPU above. Thanks again.
