Anyways, I'm not very good with computers and I'm stuck playing Pocket Edition for now, because the lag on my family's computer makes Minecraft unplayable. I only intend on playing Single Player and I just want a computer that won't lag every 3 seconds. I greatly appreciate any support.
This is Minecraft running with the integrated graphics from that PC. The CPU is better than the one in the video, although I'm not sure that it will affect it that much FPS wise. I might be wrong though.
Have you taken into consideration building a PC? It is very easy to get into with plenty of guides online. You can build a pretty decent one for not much more than you would spend on that. Maybe even less. At least decent enough to run Minecraft well. Not too sure about newer games.
It would perform but it would certainly not perform optimally. Not smoothly at all. I'd recommend a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM and a dedicated GPU. The intel HD graphics series integrated GPUs are awful.

thanks for the help! I'll look into building a PC, on my Christmas break right now. I'll also look for a computer that meets your requirements. Thanks so much for your help!
I found another laptop on the Internet and it looks better than the last one. it's stats are "Intel Core i5-2520m/500GB HDD / 8 GB RAM"
copied the stats exactly from the page because I have no clue what any of it means
how much more smoothly would this one run Minecraft than the last?
It'll run better, but not much better. I played on a laptop with the same CPU and got around 20-30 fps on low settings. Building a PC would still be much better

hey guys, sorry to bug you again, but I saw a YouTube video on this laptop, and it showed it running Minecraft pretty smoothly. Thoughts? was it just a fluke? (the guy in the video said with low setting it could run 45-50 FPS. here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-X200CA-HCL1104G-Celeraon-processor-Windows/dp/B00GWVNK8A
And the video:
