Hello, I am in a deep dilema.. I can't build my own PC and I have to buy a pre-made one.. I found the Alienware Alpha Console/Desktop PC and then the Ironside Minion... I was planning to get an Ironside.. but the Alienware was cheaper.. So I am confused in what to get the Alienware or Ironside? I am using it for Minecraft mostly. So is a review for both PC's:
Alienware Alpha i3 Edition:
Ironside Minion Original:
Thank you so much! Which one do I choose that's best for Minecraft????!??!?!
Is there a specific reason you can't build? Alienware typically has poor cooling and cheap parts. I've never heard of Ironside, but you could build something better than that for the price. For Minecraft, either would be fine most likely, but you'd be wasting your money.
My father, he doesn't want to risk the fact of me or him breaking the parts well putting it together.. We are not experienced in that type of computer section we can't build computers. If it was custom built and already put together I would take it.
I know building seems intimidating, but truly it's not. I built my first one by myself when I was 16. I followed a tutorial by Newegg on Youtube. It's literally putting parts where they have a spot on the motherboard. As long as you handle the part delicately, it'll be fine. Plus, if you build your own, you're much more familiar with the computer, making individual part upgrades much easier in the future. If you buy a prebuilt, you're pretty much stuck with those parts until you buy an entirely new computer.
Oh, then can I get a build? I am 14 myself but It may be a little stressing for me.. But I might be able to handle it.. Can I get something for around the same price as them the Alienware is 500$ and the Ironside is 576$ I'd rather be going towards for Minecraft I only need Windows 8 OS so no peripherals unless I can get it for free.
I saw a video on the graphics card with default settings it hovers around 100-200FPS and sometimes hits over 600FPS on a singleplayer world while recording.. This looks amazing will it deliver this?
If the video is the one I just saw, the person only had 8 chunks loaded, so if you had 16 chunks, it'd be less, but you should be able to sit comfortably over 60 FPS, which is the most your monitor can display most likely.
This build is identical to the Alpha except it has more ram, and it's most expensive.
More RAM, 1 Tb 7200 RPM hard drive (Alpha had 500 Gb and was 5400 RPM), a slightly better processor, a better GPU (had to do some research on the Alpha since it doesn't say what the GPU is -- it's a GTX 860m) and also has upgradability for the future. The build I made doesn't have a wireless adapter, however, but that can be added for $20 or so.

The Alpha actually isn't bad if you get a refurb or get one when they're on sale. $400 for an i3 + 750 Ti + Win 8.1 isn't a bad deal.
The Ironside is much much worse than the Alienware. Don't get the Ironside

I'm sure someone could make a better build, but this is what I came up with. It's between the Alienware and the Ironside price-wise.

Buy the alpha, i'm extremely happy with it. 600+ fps, 60-30 FPS With Seus Shaders!!! go for it.
The 750ti is highly outdated for todays standards, for near enough the same price you can get an R9 270x, which outperforms it by a mile.
