As of right now, the difference between the 4460 and the 4590 is just $2, and the performance difference is bigger between them than between the 4590 and 4690. The 4590 is priced pretty well right now

Yeah the others are right, if you don't know the difference go with the cheaper one. I have the 4590 which is 3.3ghz and that runs every game I have fantastically, no want for more power here.
Hey guys, i'm building my PC in 2 weeks. and i have question. Which is better the i5 4690k or 4690? all i see is that the 4690 is a bit cheaper?
welp?
The 4690k is just the unlocked version allowing it to be overclocked.
If you're not overclocking, I'd probably either go 4690 or 4460.

This is going to be the first PC i've ever built could you please explain to me what "overclocking" means?
Overclocking is when you boost the clock speed of your CPU, GPU, RAM etc for a boost in performance.
Although, it's usually only a slight boost and sometimes lowers the lifespan of the components.
If you want to know more about it in detail, google it. I'm not so experienced in the subject.
Someone with more experience in the matter can jump in!

IF you don't know what overclocking is, then get the i5-4690.
Or lose like almost no performance and save like $40 by getting the i5-4590.
