Here. If you really need something way more powerful then needed, get 2 GTX 970's I guess...
Not as good of a drive, overpriced GPU, case could be better, ram could be dual-channel, and the PSU I've seen on reviews makes a lot of squeaking noises after a little use. Other than that it would be pretty good performance-wise in-game.
Which drive? The SSD? Multiple people, here and otherwise, have recommended it to me. Which GPU would you suggest? Again that's a case I've been recommended, and that PSU, I've put on more than half my builds and everyone says its fine.

The Toshiba drive. The case isn't bad in any way, it could just be better at that price point. For the GPU, I would get the EVGA ACX 2.0 GTX 970. $15 cheaper.

I'm not planning on OCing or anything, and I know this will perform way better than my needs, but I have the budget for it so why not? At least I don't have to buy new parts if I suddenly need all the power.
Scrap the CLC heatsink and replace it with a Noctua NH-D15, it performs the same and has a 0% chance of leaking. Could easily fit a much better Motherboard using Z97 into that budget, maybe the Asus Z97-A? A 760? For the OP's budget you could do much better than a 760, for barely much more money you could get a 280X which beats it, or for less you can get a 270X that is on par with it relative to the price difference. I'd also recommend changing the case to a Fractal Design Arc XL which is cheaper and is absolutely amazing for air cooling. For the OP's budget, you could get a high quality PSU relative to the Hardware rather than get that XFX PSU which is generally better for lower budget builds.
That is bull. You're saying that build will be fine in 50 years time? You did say that's all the OP will ever need after all. For the amount of money spent on that build, you could have got a higher quality Motherboard and if you want to get a good locked CPU for the OP's budget you could have got an i5-4690. Why didn't you provide an Optical Drive and an OS? How will the OP actually use the Hardware?

I've heard that the EVGA ACT 2.0 970 has some nasty coil whine, so you may as well go for the Asus STRIX series, the MSI Twin Frozr V series and possibly the Gigabyte WINDFORCE series.
I meant for the present. He doesn't need anything more powerful to play Crysis does he? I didn't say in 50 years it would be good. Why would you build. $1,500 computer for Crysis? If he wants it more futureproof, then 2x SLI and maybe the 4690. OP didn't mention needing an OS. Also, I didn't add an optical drive because normally any will work as long as it has decent reviews.
EDIT: I re-read OP's post and saw I misread it. In that case then yeah, here OP: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sWbVHx
I know I put an unlocked CPU plus a z97 in the build, but for the SLI 970's there weren't many H97's that would go with it. And you might as well get the unlocked CPU with the unlocked motherboard.
(I have never tested any of these parts and I can therefore never guarantee no faults.)

I'm not going to be playing Crysis, but I want something that can do it if I all of a sudden want too.
I've also decided to settle with i7, so I don't have to upgrade in the future.
Adding 2x SLI can easily be done in the future, but for now I'll stick with 1 video card.

You are still using the i5 though, and you are also missing a case and a SSD.
I said I picked the i7 so I don't have to upgrade later, I also want a SSD because it does everything faster than a regular harddisk.
Edit: I also don't see the point of saving 100$ when you are building such an expensive computer, unless the i5 doesn't have better core speed, it's unnecessary to settle with something worse and might need to be upgraded later.

I made that post before I saw your new post. Swap out what you want. The i7 shouldn't be needed if you're not 3D modeling though.
Wait, I'm missing a case? I was sure I put in an Enthoo Pro.
EDIT: There's a case for me. Add an SSD to the Barracuda and swap out the i5 with an i7 if you really need it.

Our builds are almost identical if you do that, only difference is the case, 1 extra video card, 8GB less ram and a different motherboard, but basically have the same stats.
I'll probably not need 1 extra video card because I will not be playing very graphical challenging, but I will be multitasking alot and that were I see 16GB ram will be an advantage, also i7 will provide more and faster cores and only costs 100$ more. i5 is more like a budget choice for me, so I picked the i7 so I don't have to upgrade in the future.
A lot of multitasking doesn't justify 16 GB of RAM. Get 8 GB, and if you need anymore then get the other stick.
The i7 won't magically make your build future proof. Don't spend a huge amount of money in hopes of something being future proof now and then be disappointed in 2 years when the same parts cost much less and there is way better tech on the market.
I want a computer which is stable, handle multiple heavy processes at the time and last for years to come.
I will not be playing games like Crysis, but I will be gaming alot on this computer.
I would not like it to be underpowered in any way, I would also like to possibly upgrade it in the future.
My budget is around 1,4k to 1,5k.
Thanks

That is a budget pc though, I'm throwing alot of money into this one so I don't have to change it in 3 years.
Not that I would with the one you built, but if I spent more money on it I would get much better performance.
No, I'm from Norway.
