First off I'm going to state that I don't have a 1080p monitor and my max res is 1440 x 900 so that's what I'm looking for. Anyway how many fps would I be looking forward to?
CPU: Amd Athlon X4 750 Quad Core which I have overclocked to 4.0
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88M Extreme4+
PSU: 450w I've had through a few builds. I have the PCI adapter for the GPU so I'm good there. Planning on a upgrade come tax time.
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133
GPU: PowerColor DEVIL R9 270x (Picked it up used from ebay for $85, upgrading my Gigabyte GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5)
120+ the Athlon is a pretty decent CPU, the R9-270x is pretty much a GTX 760, good build. the powersupply though, ouch would say upgrade so you don't power throttle your system (Underclocks itself so doesn't go above 450w, that'll lose you -50FPS D:)

Well I've gone through a few online calculators for psu watts and with my current setup i'm pulling about 385w so I am going to try and last until tax time. BTW for the R9 270x do I need the two 6pins or will one power it?
U wot m8? The 760 is on par with a 270x, the 290x is faster than a 970.
You will need all the possible power connectors plugged in, if it has two six pins, you need two six pins. If it has and eight and a six pin, you need an eight and a six pin.
Alright I have ordered another adapter then, I have plenty of open 4pins to convert over to two 6 pins to hold me until I upgrade that psu.
I can say, from benchmarks, the 270x is 5fps more than the 760, and the 970s do better than the 290x, and now reading over NOT the 290x I meant the 270x lmao

Well I'll be getting the R9 270x installed after work today, can't wait! I already installed the new psu and wow my old must of been bad! With the old one, I got a loud spinning fan at start up but now its like a whisper. I sometimes forget the thing is on! Though the blue led fan in the front should give it away quickly haha.
Anyway I've finally got all my games from Steam and other not to be name sources installed. I can't wait to test out Star Citizen with this bad boy! However the first I'll do most likely is load up minecraft and see how my fps I am getting now with and without shaders. I know people say the game is mostly cpu but the gpu does help a lot. I have high hopes as my GT 730 is getting 100+ fps and this card is even better! Let the devil run wild in my system! (Its the Powercolor R9 270x devil edition that is OCed out of the box )

I got on average 125fps on max settings but my athlon was faulty and under clocked so you might get more.
