What are you talking about? Those speeds look amazing to me with my peon internet :l
It's not nearly as good as it seems sadly. Those are the speeds for the wired connection in the newest building on campus. In a dorm and on WiFi it maxes at 20Mbps when no one is using it, but it is so unreliable that you cant even stream 240p on youtube. The 30/20 FiOS is awesome though

They have almost certainly throttled the streaming speeds to keep a cap on the amount of porn/youtube you can watch.
Well the thing is that sometimes I can stream HD from youtube. It only really lags on weekends/nights when people are streaming movies. Also, school-related sites still load slowly during that time, so I think it isn't completely to do with throttling. We're sharing 2 wireless routers across 40 people in the dorm, so that could be the problem.

Upgrading to 20/2 on the 29th! It's going to end up being around $50/month cheaper than the current bill, thanks to a discount, and even without the discount (after two years), it'll be about the same price as right now.

I have fixed point wireless, so it is really affected by the rain. My average is 1.5mbps
The slowest I gotten was 0mbps and 0.01mbps upload. It was so slow that speedtest didn't have enough decimal places to show the results. The ping was 12,000. About 2ms short of a pigeon.

The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
Yes it blows. It is broken about 70% of the time. But since they know that they are the only ISP in the area, they over subscribe towers and give sh1t service. Not to mention the static IP fraud, that I wrote about before.
The only redeeming factor is that it is unlimited, but at the average speed, you can't download much anyway.

But, this is inaccurate for many reasons, first, I live in the middle of a rural town, second, while this was happening two people in my house were streaming netflix in HD, and third, well, I just suck with internet
P.S. Try hosting a server for MC on a not full Meg of upload!!!

I did. 0.72mbps can hold a few people, I managed a peak of 15 once, but there's quite a bit of lag!

Sad thing is, this is ADSL2+..
And we are paying for 20down / 7up. Fair to say I hate Telstra.
You should complain. That is ridiculous if you are paying for 20mb/s and are getting 0.7. You're only getting 3.8% of your service. i know that you will never get 100%, but 3.8% is complete BS. How do you put up with that? Or was that just a fluke on one occasion?

Nope, this is around the average of the tests. Sometimes it can increase to 2down / 0.3up, but only at around 4am
I've tried to complain but Telstra refused to even reply.. I can't do anything about it, my parents own the account and don't really care about it as they don't use the internet for much.

^ this
In April, my server received only 25GB of bandwidth, but uploaded nearly 150GB. Minecraft is very upload-intensive.

I got graded a C. Am I surprised? Not really.

Nothing to complain about, the upload is pretty much useless.

Yup, good internet here.
Except my laptop sucks for.. well, anything that takes more than a moderate amount of processing power.
