My siggy that says %100 minecraft addict aint a joke, I am having Minecraft withdrawals...Anyways, I have 3 crappy computers and was hoping for some suggestions on which I could possibly resurrect to play Minecraft again...Maybe upgrade ? Or should I just save up some $ for a few months and buy a new comp ? Heres the specs:
My laptop was by far the "best" of the 3...
Windows 7 32 bit
400gb HDD
4gb RAM
Intel Mobile ...blah blah something crappy video card with 32mb dedicated video memory, "up to" 128 shared video memory, I assume that means it uses a page file thingy or whatever to borrow some of the hard drives memory for video memory when it "needs" to ??? Not exactly a computer whiz here so idk...
Intel Dual-Core 2.1ghz processor
The problem: The Hard Drive is failing. According to the genius at the computer store down the street who ran diagnostics through the BIOS, and wrote down Dell Error code 0142 after it failed the memory test diag
It needs a new hard drive and a new battery apparently, as the battery no longer holds a charge and the heat from such is what caused the hard drive's problem. Or so I was told...
#2 My old desktop
Windows Vista 32 bit
Pentium 4 2.3 Ghz Processor
?? 756mb of RAM (Something close to that, hence the ? marks, its below 800 and above 600
40GB HDD
NVIDIA 64mb Video Card, PCI
And now that I think about it, the 3rd comp isnt worth mentioning unless I wanted to attempt to sell it towards the purchase of a new comp...Its a tiny Eee PC "mini laptop" with Windows XP, less than 1ghz processor and 566mb of RAM I think...
I KNOW that if I had a ton of money, I would have a 64 bit i7 gaming comp, unfortunately, I work at my family business and go to school right now, and winter time is a very slow time for us, I make enough $ to get by and take care of my fiance and 3 yr old and get extra time in to study for right now, spring isnt far off, then I will make a lil more cash, but for right now, I was hoping to either upgrade the desktop or repair the laptop, I was just curious as to which was the better option, OR if more than likely, NEITHER is even worth it, perhaps I will just have to go through Minecraft withdrawal until I can get a nicer computer...
I would probably get something completely new.
Laptops are difficult to fix and upgrade (at least compared to desktops).
Or you could just get pocket edition.

These are the cheapest computers that can run Minecraft decently that I could find:
If you want a laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834888010
If you want a desktop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883250734
(These are the absolute cheapest, so don't expect great quality, etc.)
