Hello recently I've been searching for new laptop to run Minecraft on and do a couple of other things as well. Basically I'm looking for a laptop that can run Minecraft perfectly and possibly record at the same time. Another thing that would be needed is the ability for me to run Minecraft, host a local server, and code in Eclipse at the same time since I'm an experienced plugin developer. On January 30th, my birthday I'm hoping to purchase this computer. Please tell me if it can do all of the above and an approximate fps estimate while doing each task. Thank you. (I hope it can run Minecraft and Chrome at the same time with over 30 fps)
Yes it can, but you are overpaying since minecraft does not support sli. You would be better off saving money and getting cheaper laptop than is just as fast in minecraft. You can put the extra money towards something else or just save it in general.

What is SLI? Also what laptop do you suggest? I prefer intel processors and nvidia graphics.
I know you said not to, but just get a desktop. They're so much better than any laptop or console you can get for the price.
If you can suggest a desktop that's prebuilt with the best bang for my buck I might take that option. However, I really can't imagine not having it mobile. I move around with my laptop so frequently, I just can't keep it at one position.
My brother has this laptop and it runs Minecraft fine, BUT... rarely can you run a server and play on the same machine with limited RAM like this one has 6 GB. For multitasking, sure you can run all your programs, but obviously you can't see them all unless you use multiple monitors. Finally I don't know how well you like Win 8.1 so the OS is up to you. The big downsides to this are the 5400rpm hard drive, 8gb SSD? for what?, and the 2.5 GHz processor.
For portability, you can go small form factor (but you still would have to take cables, m/k, monitor). Desktops are always your best bang for the buck option.

wat.
5400rpm is fine. 8gb ssd is likely a cache or part of an sshd.
2.5ghz is fine. ghz does not mean anything.
Also the server thing is likely an internet problem. 6gb of ram is ok for gaming

I thought a 4th gen 2.5ghz processor isn't actually that bad for a laptop this cheap. Also I don't really mind the loading times with my hard drive as long as the gaming experience is fine. I don't like windows 8 really, but oh we'll I guess. The server would be local and have like 512mb due to me just debugging plugins on it as my router doesn't support port forwarding anyways.

But hey since you know a lot apparently (in a good way), what do you the fps would be on average Minecraft with just chrome open? Doesn't have to be 100% accurate of course :).
Faster and cheaper. Normally i would say grab a laptop with an a10 apu, but the a10 barely maxes out minecraft, and you seem like you will be multitasking a lot.
Option #1 Is the best value. Option #2 has an ssd cache but less battery life, not worth it.

That just directs me back to the home page of the site. Can you tell me what it's called exactly and what it's specs are, or just give me a link.
I'm thinking about doing my original option as the graphics card is pretty good and I can record for some other games too.
I would say don't get the one you linked. The one i linked is faster and does not have sli issues. Plus a better battery life.
SLI is when you have two gpus. In some cases in which the game supports dual gpu, you will get more fps, but in the case of minecraft it does not. So it is just wasted.
Recording on a laptop is just not good in general. They are not made for that, and they have loud fans which the mic picks up very easily.

The one I'm looking at is on sale though for over $200 so it'll be a better deal at the time. Also I will play other games which will probably support dual GPUs. I would love to take your advice but I think my choice may be better at this time as I am not fully restricted to minecraft on my channel. By the way, I use a headset to record which eliminates almost all of the noise of the fan. Thank you for your help though, that's very kind.
There are many more downsides of dual gpu. Terrible battery life. Micro stuttering ( annoying and can render a game unplayable even with high fps ), more heat, more noise.
Basically, single gpu is always better, even if dual gpu gives more fps. More fps is not what matters. What matters is a smooth gameplay. More fps =/= smooth gameplay.

Also please don't say "just build a desktop" I've seen that waaaay too much!

Your headset will still pick up fan noise.
