I just updated to Windows 8.1, and first thing I noticed is how it automatically reduced the size of my PC's icons and text on the desktop and menus:
I don't have an older image for comparison, but I assure you that the icons and text were much bigger and easier to read than this. I've tried going through all the settings and increasing the size of the text and icons, and although I restored the icons on the desktop close to their original size, I've had no luck with the taskbar and menus. Any help?
For additional info: my monitor is 1920x1080 pixels, and like said before the icons and text were much bigger at this resolution before the update. Also, I've tried the new DPI scaling options but they just became pixelated as the size increased.

Uncheck use small Icons.
