With no new devices that look good I have had my Galaxy Nexus for a while. It died the other day I ordered a USB JIG and I might be able to get into the bootloader to use Odin. The phone is old and is pretty worn from constant use for the past nearly 2 years the screen has burnin and other things. I might just switch back to my DroidX for a while.
After this I have decided I am going to get off Verizon because I am unable to upgrade phones without paying full price. So I go to Sprint to look at new phones. This will be a half rant and partly just me thinking out loud.

I am sure I forgot some small things however I think this is a run down of what phones I am considering.
I honestly don't see any Phones I like out on any carrier the amount of choices in devices is less then what I purchased my Galaxy Nexus or my Droidx.
I don't ever come here asking for help always the one giving however I honestly can't decide and want to see if maybe someone comes up with something I forgot.
See link to drop tests. The S4 uses a non standard button configuration. I prefer on screen buttons because when i want to I can reclaim that phone space for watching a movie or a TV show on my phone.
..., thats not only what CASES, are for, but aprently you didnt notice, that samsung made a version where the phone itself IS, the case, its called the Galaxy S4 ACTIVE, which is waterproof, works underwater, as well as can survive a drop easily, as for buttons, you do realize, that the s4 has a 5" screen, right? that should be plenty of space, if you want more space, buy a tablet or something :/
it even works if you manage to drop it in ummm, this:
and drop test(with case of course, no phone is really made to be dropped purposley, and who doesnt get a case for an expensive phone, honestly:

S4 Active is not on Sprint. It is not about getting more screen space it is about reducing the Bezel size and plastic area of the phone.
Actually the 5in screen seems big and already has me worried that the device is going to be too large.People who buy Moto phones don't need to waste money on cases. Going with above too the phone is quite large cases make it larger.
Definitely agree on the S4's build quality. However, I think 5" is great. Any bigger would be an issue. I thought I'd hate it when I switched from my iPhone 4S with its comparatively tiny screen. In the end, I much prefer the big 5" screen.
i see nothing wrong with the build quality, i mean really, if your going to buy a high-end phone, why WOULDNT, you buy a case? and phones arnt really supposed to be dropped or submerged you know :/

I went down to the store and looked at it today. Despite it being larger then my Galaxy Nexus it somehow feels easier to hold and use.

I showed 2 other companies phones that survive being dropped and submerged. Because cases are fat and make the phone look awful. I really have only owned durable phones so it has not been something I worry about.
Nexus 4 is awful and made by LG. It is also not on Sprint, they also lack Sdcards. My Gnex was pretty awful in terms of trying to keep enough storage space on it.
Sprint has a 14 day return policy so I am using the Gs4. I can't deal with not having Cyanogen and the MotoX has other downsides.
I will say this it is massive I purchased one of the smaller otter box cases and I think I might remove it and just deal with no case.
Touchwiz is also awful I would never recommend this phone to anyone who does not know how to install a custom Rom.
I've found that even a thin case offers a little protection. I have an HTC Thunderbolt, and the only drop that did any damage to it was a four or five foot drop flat on the screen on to concrete (replaced the screen after that one). It's survived things like being accidentally drop kicked down a hallway, stepped on, falling out of my pocket, falling out from between my shoulder and ear. The case I have on it is only a fraction of an inch thick. My fiancee has a similar style case on a Samsung Stratosphere (just a really thin plastic layer really) and they seem to do more to protect the phone than you would expect.

..., i have no problem with touchwiz, its the best custom ui ive ever used, and i WOULD, reccomend it, excessivly, custom roms are one of the stupidest things ever :/ and as for the no case, thats also a very stupid thing to do, even if the phone can survive it, that doesnt mean its safe to NOT, have a case :/, i got a cheap, otterbox rip-off case for my Galaxy S3, i have no problem with it, and i have dropped my phone a few times, nothings wrong with it, also, as for build-quality on the s4 in the drop test, they never showed turning it back on, all they said is it turned off, so for all they know, it could still work absolutley fine, so i call BULL****
Also, my dad has a motorola, he plans to never by anything made by them again, because he's had so many error's, that refused to let him use the phone, withotu a restart (and no, its not a doa, he already tried that, the device he recived back gave him the same problems :/

Best Custom UI. All the others are trash too so Touchwiz is the golden turd.
The screen popped out of the case that is not good vs the Motorola that took only surface damage.
I would love to hear why you think Custom roms are the stupidest thing ever.

Sounds like the problem was on Layer 8.
